Stands up to a busy 3-year-old!

We toted this big boy all the way from California to England as a birthday gift for our 3-year-old digger-and-dump-truck-crazy grandson. He absolutely adores it, and has already used it to gather rocks from around the yard, fill the truck bed, "drive" the truck to the patio, and dump the rocks out. He built himself a nice little wall in the first few days. His parents love how sturdy it is (important when it's abused regularly by a busy little boy)! And our grandson thinks it's the best thing ever. Tonka just never disappoints!

Nice Classic Tonka Truck!

My child LOVES her Tonka Classic Steel Mighty Dump Truck! Though, I have to say the quality is still not nearly as amazing as the one I had as a child, but still better than other trucks you might find on the market today. My child loves to drive this truck all over our house and it hold's her toys! The wheels, bumper, and underside of the truck are ALL plastic. Though, Tonka still does a nice classic truck!

Tonka tuff but not exactly like the original.

I really liked the durable build on this trucks body itself. As far as the rest of the parts on the truck it wasn’t exactly like the classic styles like I remember my brothers had in the late 70’s. The wheels and other parts on the truck seem to be very cheap and flimsy. I wanted to have my grandsons to enjoy the fun and imagination of playing with a good old classic tonka truck that would withstand hard play by 4 young grandsons of mine. They had been currently playing with some old original Tonka trucks that belonged to their father and uncle from around 22 years earlier. Those Tonka trucks had been through every tough boy test a boy could give them in play and was still in tackt. Only reason they had to be replaced was after more than 20 years of play on them by lots of little boys they were starting to rust really badly and becoming dangerous with some broken sharp edges. So I’m hoping the 4 new Tonka trucks and other Tonka equipment will stand up to their name as tough built. I can assure you my grandsons are definitely giving the Tonka products I got them for Christmas long hours of play for now. Just hope that these hold up like the original.

Great for outdoor play with 1 year old walker!

Wow! My 14 mo old son LOVES this! He loves pushing it around, loading it up, and trying to sit in it. We take it to the park with us and play with it in the backyard. I would highly recommend this truck and other Tonka brand trucks! They are great quality and made of steel - built to last through hours of play. I can see this toy growing with my son and him playing with it for years to come.

Excellent quality

Fabulous toy! Much bigger and stronger, durable than I expected. This will last a very long time. My four year old grandson loves it and was eager to show it to me as soon as I walked in the door. Good for play inside and out. Will hold plenty of sand, gravel, toy soldiers or whatever. Excellent quality. Very happy with this purchase.

Perfect as described!

I'm reading reviews is people that left one or two stars and they are mad that it's not all steel as described. I haven't read anywhere that says this truck is all steel. It's exactly as described. Don't be fooled by these negative reviews of people that don't know how to read descriptions of products they are buying, and just assume. I guess reading is hard.. Bought for my 2 year old nephew and he loves it. Thinking of buying the others if everything holds up good.

This is the only new Tonka worth purchasing

This is the only new Tonka truck that's still worth something. I bought almost every retro Tonka available and they're all junk. At least the bed on this dump truck is all metal and can handle some weight. My daughter was playing with all of her new Tonkas in the front yard the other day. At one point she had this dump truck over flowing with dirt. Just like how I remember playing with them. I just wish I could say the same for the other cranes and tractors.

Yay! Tonka is still the best

Bought Tonka trucks for both my kids, nearly 50 years ago! Always guaranteed to be the best made toys around. So, new 'baby' about 18mos old comes to a reunion party and I remembered the joy my kids had with the BIG truck. This little boy was self entertained for the longest time, having a ball pushing it around, sitting his little diapered bottom in the truck bed and scooting around backwards in it. A big hit, as I knew it would be. I think the product description mentions 'age 3', but my experience in the now (and then) is that Tonka is so well made that they are basically safe for any age.

I can't tell you how many of these we've bought. You have to buy the Tonka Classic trucks, they are so well made. The kids at our school use them every single day! Wow do they love them! Well made, tough as heck, they hold up to every day use. Well done.
