Kenneth Cole Brown Messenger Bag

This is a great bag for a great price! I have tons of Kenneth Cole leather bags, and this really is a nice one for a nice price. I bought this style in Black and Dark Brown and did not have any of the issues one of the reviewers mentioned such as color rubbing off on clothes etc. This is a medium size bag, and it's not bulky at all. Men or women will find great use for it on pretty much any occasion accept formal outings (of course referring to parties, weddings etc). This bag is very suitable for work, school, business meetings, trips to the mall, even weekend outings. If you like the messenger style this is a good investment. However, if you buy, buy from Amazon for I bought one bag from Amazon and the other from CSN, and CSN leaves you somewhat in the dark with the shipping process until you send them an email asking them what's going on. Therefore, try to avoid them when possible and go with Amazon for direct purchase and free 2 day shipping.

Great Purchase

I absolutely love this bag. I've had it for a few years and it has been highly dependable. Bag looks great. Fits my books, macbook and notebooks. It has a great design, great color. Sleek and professional, also hip and cool. Some of the color has started to fade with rub against pants, so I suggest definitely moisturize and employ leather care/polish. If i ever have to retire this bag, I will be either buying another of the same kind or going back to kenneth cole.

Superior bag at bargain price!

VERY nice bag, especially for the price! I have a new job that has me working in a different location each day or week. This bag is a beautiful leather shoulder bag with a main pocket large enough for a 2" binder, a notebook, and room for additional documents. There are two smaller side pockets, one of which contains my AC charger for my phone. This bag is gorgeous and represents a superb deal at this price!

Good for the price.

For the price it is really good. I did not want to buy a very expensive leather bag because I use it very rough. Over all the quality and stitching is good. It is not that roomy but it does the daily job for me and everyone notices it. The only two things I wish I had paid more attention to when I was buying are 1- The shoulder strap is not that good and is not removable, so you are stuck with it. 2- there are no inside partitions for laptop and documents. When ever I try to slip in my laptop the open docs come in the way or the charger comes in the way. The buttons are really good magnetic ones and snaps right in. Does not easily come off on its own.

Got this bag for teaching this year

I'm teaching 2nd grade this year and needed a new bag since my old laptop bag was stolen from my car (it was empty, luckily). I decided on this one because it looked professional and it would serve my basic needs (taking papers home, etc.). I got mine today and I like it a lot. It has a main pocket that I can put papers in, two smaller pockets that can fit smaller items like a cell phone, keys, pens, etc., and then a pocket in the back which could hold more papers.I expected a few blemishes with the leather since they warn that it will be natural to have that. That type of stuff is not even noticeable on my bag unless you have your face up close to it. I don't plan on using this to carry my laptop, but my Asus laptop is about 15 inches wide and it did fit in the bag. If it were just a few inches wider, though, I really doubt it would've fit. The only other negative may be the bag handle. If I had a lot of things in the bag, I'd think twice before picking the bag up by the handle. I'm not sure it could support a great amount of weight. For what I need the bag for, I think this was a deal considering I only paid about $76 for it. Definitely better quality than my old laptop bag.

Quality leather & design

Given the criticism about this bag's faults I was a little apprehensive before receiving it - but based on what arrived the criticism isn't justified. This is a good quality bag of exceptional value, based on the current sale price. I wouldn't have blinked if I had paid full retail, but I couldn't resist the bargain price - and what a bargain. With care this bag will last for many years. It's a perfect size for a day pack, and it looks smart enough to double as a briefcase; the small handle also makes the bag easy to pick up. The long strap is easily adjustable and is smartly stitched to the sides and base of the bag, enabling the bag to retain its shape and be stood upright without toppling over. In correct position, the bag sits snugly in the small of the back. The faults? The design is dated, evidenced by the inadequate pockets: there's nothing that specifically fits a smart phone or ipad, and no provision for storing keys; the polyester lining is flimsy and will probably be the first component to break; the leather is single, not double, stitched. But this is a very comfortable, roomy (for its small-medium size), good looking bag for most occasions. Highly recommended at the discount price!

Bought it for an internship, still holding up nicely.

The bag came with a small iron like creased on the front side, not a big deal as not noticeable from afar. I've used it for over a month now and can tell that the bag is a still holding its shape although the material does not feel as strong as when it first arrived. The bag is fairly compact so be cautious if you plan on carrying a lot. I currently fit a binder, a padfolio, and two small journals in the main compartment but it makes the bag bulge slightly. I've also been able to slot my laptop (13.3 inch) with no problem in place of my binder. The two slotted front pockets are nice for carrying small items such as mints and writing utensils, however you should not plan on putting anything larger than a regular notepad in there as it'll make it near impossible with the magnet buttons. I got this bag for my internship and overall I am happy with the purchase. I've gotten several compliments and it still functions well, would highly recommend this for anyone looking for their first messenger bag.

An Elegant Bag For Work and Other Uses

I've had this bag for two months now, and I must say that this is the best messenger bag that I've ever bought. I used to use a military-style, khaki messenger bag, but I needed something more professional to line up with my office job. This Kenneth Cole Risky Business Messenger Bag fit the bill. It's sleek, handy, and professional. First of all, the leather exterior feels great. It's smooth and has a neutral smell overall unlike some other leather bags that I've come across. Secondly, this bag holds a good amount of items. At first, I was worried when I read reviews that there is no zipper for the main compartment. That's totally fine because the magnetic clips attached to the flap of the bag will hold everything inside well. However, I was pleasantly surprised that there was also a small compartment in the back with a zipper for your more secure items. I put my wallet, gum, and other various things in there, so I don't have to worry about losing anything valuable. I honestly don't carry too much, so it's perfect for me. The only thing that I would change is make the magnetic clips stronger. I often have to fumble around to make them lock into place to secure the main compartment. Otherwise, this is a great bag!

good for a gift!

I bought this as a birthday gift for my bf and he likes it a lot. The leather is good quality. He uses it for work every day because he takes his laptop back and forth. He now uses it every day and it replaced another messenger bag he had that was made out of a cloth material. It fits his 15" dell and a notebook. The big pockets in the front as you open the flap are particularly useful for things like his phone and his cigarettes.

Great bag!

Had this bag for several years and still looks great. Before I got this bag, I would carry all my stuff in plastics bags, looking like sort of semi homeless person, but this bag kicks up your style 100% Use it everyday for work to carry lunch, papers, etc, not padded enough for a laptop,but I guess you could use it that way. Never did anything to it as far as sealing or weatherizing....nothing. Never had the bleeding issue even though it got soaked many times in snow and rain.
