Rinds are very low in carbs....
Less carbs = less bodyfat. Proteins and fats are really much better for you! Here is one good way to cook them: throw away the bags they come in and shape them into a ring on the outer side of a paper plate, cover with another paper plate, and nuke for 2 minutes and 30 seconds (2:30). Tell the kiddies not to bite through any uncooked parts, like they should not bite uncooked popcorn kernels either, right? You can put anything you want to on them but the spicy ones taste great to start with! And you get WAY more curls from these than shipping around a few tasteless bags of air-puff curls for higher prices. Enjoy, and watch your weight for YOUR sake, OK? Eat these (and other substitutes) instead of fries, bread & real sugars to stop gaining weight. Exercise too & lose weight! These are great fun & better for you than popcorn!

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and KETO friendly
So I am on a the KETO diet which does not allow me carbs. I also happen to be in a country at the moment that does not enjoy or even like the idea of pork products. This item checks both of those blocks and also gets through customs no problem. I really enjoy the original version of these more than the spicy version. I about half the time will add some form of hot sauce in the bag once they are ready. Lastly I bought these as a curiosity because they are magical. You put a bag just like microwave popcorn and nuke it for a few minutes and crackling hot rinds filled with deliciousness await you. A positive bonus item is the fragrance of bacon may subtly fill your kitchen area. What else could you ask for?

Move over popped corn!
These were in my cart for a while before I actually ordered them. $18 for pork rinds was a risky move for me. Totally worth it! They are delicious. Hot, crispy and fresh. I follow a ketogenic diet and these help provide a low carb snack that doesn't make me miss carbs. I topped mine with seasoning, cilantro and Sriracha aioli. Only complaint is I wish there were more in a bag I ate the entire bag easily... for breakfast.

So Many Snack Options
This review is for Lowrey's Hot & Spicy Bacon Curls, Microwave Pork Rinds (Chicharrones), 1.75 Ounce Package, (Pack Of 18). These pork rinds are very good. Some of the pieces do get too hard to eat, at least in my opinion. But, the dogs love those pieces, so nothing is wasted. These pork rinds are very easy to cook. Just microwave for a minute and a half or so, and they are done. Make sure you watch them, and once the bag stops expanding, stop cooking. They will overcook easily. Here are some ideas of how I eat these instead of just having them plain: - Top them with some ground chicken, jalapeƱos, and fat free cheese for a healthy, low carb snack or meal. - Use them in place or tortilla chips with salsa. - Take some of those popcorn seasoning shakers, and while the contents of the bag are still hot, add and shake. Ranch is a great flavor for a nice hot and spicy ranch. They are a very versatile snack idea, and much better in my opinion that chips. If you like pork rinds, these are great and have a much more fresh taste.

Fresh hot pork rinds are amazing!
Great substitute for chips when on keto or eating low carb. They come out of the microwave hot and crunchy. Amazing flavor and being hot makes it that much better. The instructions say 1 - 2 minutes but my microwave took 3 - 4 minutes. DO NOT PUT THESE IN THE MICROWAVE AND WALK AWAY. You have to watch the bag while it Cooks to ensure the pork rinds are fully cooked without over cooking them. this isn't like popcorn so you won't hear any popping coming from the microwave just watch the bag and plate and then you will know it's done. Once you take it out of the microwave and open the bag, the rinds will crackle and pop for a few minutes. It's kind of fun to listen to them crackling in the bowl/bag while you're eating.

what's not to love?.
warm, crunchy and salty, what's not to love?.. yum! I was having issues with microwaving them and scorching them.. now I cook them in the oven @ 400 degree on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper for 4 minutes and they are perfect every time.. every single one puffs up. I'm trying to cut back carbs where I can and these are great for scooping tuna fish or egg salad up in place of crackers.

My new keto popcorn alternative!
I recently started keto and even though I never was a big pork rind person, they are so heavily used in veto diets that I had to try a bunch. I followed the directions and my pork rinds came out great, just a few pieces in the bag were a little too hard where i couldn't exactly break them down chewing. But, overall these were delicious! I love having a snack that I can eat to replace chips or popcorn while watching tv or hanging out at home. They were still popping for a bit after they were out of the microwave and a few were popping in my mouth but I kind of found that fun lol. Overall I thought these were delicious and a great no carb snack!

Super Addicting
Be warned.. these are super addicting. I bought a box of these 3 weeks ago and I've already ate them all. I actually came back to buy another box...

Soooo good!
These are a great keto snack! My mother in law found them at a hardware store and bought them for us because, keto? Haha! I don't really enjoy just eating pork rinds as a snack, it kind of grosses me out. But these, these are different! I follow the directions on the package, they don't Pop like corn but I believe about two minutes does the trick. I aim for making sure not to overcook them because they can burn. But these have great flavor and the difference of these freshly cooked to a bagged pork rind is like fresh fries to cold fries. These are mostly smaller pieces that get really puffed up. I hate big funky giant pork rinds with hard spots, yuck! These are the most perfect pork rinds for snacking, packing in your lunch, movie time! Seriously give them a chance. We loved the first bag we got so much that we bought this case.

These don't last long at our house! :-)
These are a favorite in our home & they don't last very long!!! SPREAD EVENLY INSIDE BAG The instructions say to shake the bag first BUT they pop MUCH better if you try to spread them evenly in the bag & make sure they aren't all clumped together. NO LONGER THAN 3 MIN Depending on your microwave I'm sure times will vary but they shouldn't take longer than 3 min., we time ours about 2 min 45 sec to 3 min. We've never used a little cheaper, apartment microwave for these but years ago when we for popcorn, the popcorn always seemed to burn or not pop correctly SO the type & quality of microwave may make a difference! IMPORTANT FOR LITTLE ONES Once they are cooked they will pop and crackle still so if you have little ones there is a possibility they'll crackle in their mouth & could get caught on their tongue (it doesn't really hurt but little kids may think differently). My kiddos are bigger now but when they were really little we let them cool a bit got them.. As they got older they'd try to get the ones that crackle in their mouths! :-) BAG DOESN'T ALWAYS OPEN LIKE A POPCORN The bag doesn't always pull apart at the edges like microwave popcorn so we rip it or cut it. MAY NOT ALL POP & CRACKLE I've read some reviews say they.didn't all pop BUT nether does microwave popcorn. When we follow the steps above we have only a couple, if any that don't pop!
