Our kittens love this dry food. I came to Amazon to check its price and found it on Subscribe and Save at a low price. Well, imagine my surprise when it arrived and I discovered that the low price was for an enormous bag of the stuff! I'm pretty impressed. I was worried it was stale and so on and so forth, but our cats still seem very happy. No problems. And if they're happy, I'm happy. I haven't looked at dates on the bag. Guess I won't bother.

Considering I didn't eat this product myself, I'm not sure how descriptive I can be. My 8 month old house gremlin eats out of the garbage can but turns up his nose to most kitten foods. The fact that he will eat this food in any quantity gives it an instant 4 stars. The fifth star is for the excitement factor. He runs to get his new favorite cereal. Bottom line, if my little monster seems to enjoy this food, I believe any picky fur purr will enjoy it.

My vet was so impressed at the health of my two kittens at their vaccination appointment and asked how I was doing it... Especially when it came to maintaining their silky fur. This stuff right here! I have fed all my adult fosters on the Purina One Adult Cat food and since Amazon is the only place to get a decent price on the kitten formula(can only buy online in my area), I knew I would be doing the same for these two... So I switched them to the kitten version the week I adopted them. They bulked up in weight and their fur is as soft as ever! Love that Amazon has everything I need for my guys! 😻😻

I ordered this big economy pack of Purina One Healthy Kitten Formula since I could not find it in any of the local stores. Before this purchase, I would buy Purina One Healthy Kitten Formula in a smaller more expensive packs from local stores. Once I was sure my fur babies liked it, I ordered the big economy pack here on Amazon. During the first few days of adopting my first kitten Sparky, she wouldn't eat anything. I read online forums and many cat parents overwhelmingly recommended Purina One Healthy Kitten Formula for young kittens who were being weaned off milk. The kibble is small and not very hard, making it easy for kittens to eat it. It also has DHA which is required for feline vision development during early years.

My kitten loves this food. She eats the Friskies Pate I put down for my other cats, but when that's gone and she gets hungry, she goes in her special kitty house I made her to fill up with Purina One Kitty food. (I put the bowl of a small gravity feeder into the side of a good sized cardboard box so the bowl is on the inside and tape the feeder to the box hiding anyplace where where of my grown cats' paws could grab food, around the base and storage part. Then I cut a hole just big enough for a kitten to go into in the front on the other side of the box, the small end of a 7-11 type largest plastic cup. As my kitten grew, I opened the box up using the top of the same cup as a guide. It's close, but she can still get in there to get her food. Any bigger than that, the other cats would get in there. When you need to refill the gravity feeder, cut a small flap above the door to open the lid if needed. You can always close it up with Velcro or just push the cardboard down flat again. When your kitty's grown, store the box in the garage so you can use it again!) She likes this food a lot, and I'm confident that it is giving her the nutrition she needs. Sorry to be so long about describing the kitty box, but so many people have asked me about it.

BEST kitten food ever! I have been feeding this to my Siamese/DSH mix kitty (he's 9 mo old now) since transitioning him from wet food to dry when he was about 2 mo old. I have tried other dry kitten kibble such as Iams Proactive Healthy Kitten and even Hill's Science Diet Indoor Kitten- he really didn't like either. My dad is a veterinarian and always carries Hill's Science Diet food for his clients so I tried giving my kitten the latter because I figured a more expensive "veterinarian prescribed" diet was the best for him. I transitioned his food properly for a week and I noticed he just wasn't eating a lot of it as much as the Purina One. I also noticed he seemed to be more inactive (probably because he wasn't eating as much) and was shedding MUCH more noticeably! I'm talking like puff balls everywhere- more than he normally sheds. When I read carefully into the label for Purina One, there is about 4% more moisture than in Hill's! Having more moisture in a kibble is so important to keep in mind when keeping your cats on a dry food diet! Dry food is already more dehydrating than wet food. It's completely fine when your cat has plenty of water- but having more moisture in a dry kibble is a bonus! In addition, I saw that Purina One also has Omega 6 whereas Hill's Science did not (both have DHA)- and Omega 6 is extremely important in keeping your kitty's fur healthy- probably why I noticed he started to shed more when I took him off Purina One (rookie move). I switched him back to Purina One and now he is much more active and lively. When your cat is much older and (God-forbid) NEEDS a "veterinarian prescribed" diet, Hill's Science may come into mind.. But if your kitty is young and healthy, you might as well give him a kibble that taste goods AND is good for him- and that he loves! **EDIT: Hill’s Diet actually said that their food does have Omega 6, BUT their food still has less moisture and my kitty still preferred the Purina kibble.

I rescued Aragorn and Arwen when they were dumped off and found at 2 months old last August. I went to Petco next door to my work to grab the basic Purina kitten chow (the cheap green bag), which they were sold out of... I saw this, kinda gulped at the price and bought it anyway as I wanted the best for them. Best alternative choice and splurge for all of us. Every vet tech and vet they saw were pleased that for "foundlings" that their health was in fantastic shape. I was asked what I was feeding them and told them "Purina One Kitten Food." I have been told to stay on it, and as they approach their one year birthday, I am researching throughout the line for the best fit for them. Arwen has maintained a healthy weight, even after being spayed, for a short hair tabby. Her coat is shiny and "velvety" as one vet called it and wanted to keep petting her. She is very active and very curious in her environment. Aragorn, her litter mate brother, is a maine coonish mix with long hair and is neutered. He has grown ENORMOUS for his age and is maintaining a healthy weight as well. His coat is soft, fluffy, and is only starting the shed due to the season. He too, is active and always gobbles his plate up. Both are fed 2/3 a cup a day, split into two meals and have access to fresh water daily (they let me know if it needs attention). Litter box has been normal. I store it in an airtight container that can almost hold 16lbs of it. One 16lb bag is about 1 month (as my roommate's cat enjoys this as well, so that is feeding 3 cats.) I stock up on coupons from Petco to get them the big bag which is the only place other than online to get it. I added recent photos of my two now nine month old kittens that this cat food has helped.

My 2 kittens loved this. There aren't a lot of dry kitten food out there that provides good nutrition that's not insanely expensive. This is decently priced and the little pieces are perfect for their tiny mouths! It does smell not great but that's what cat food smells like. And since cats eat based on smell they love it. I feed them this to graze and wet food. I added a photo of my kittens after they have eaten it jut because I can. :) "They would say "Meow I'm so full of delicious cat food."

Jasper is the newest addition to our family, he's about 6 months old. Notice in the photo how shiny his fur is, and how big he is already. He's obviously very healthy. He was raised from birth on a bottle - his mother rejected Jasper and his sister for some reason. My friend fed the two kittens 'round the clock every two hours. Since Jasper moved in with us a few months ago, he's grown leaps and bounds eating Purina One Kitten Food and drinking a little bit of milk from a saucer as a treat. We saw his sister yesterday and she's not nearly the size Jasper is, not to say it's because of the food, but it's very possible. Since Jasper was raised by humans on a bottle, I thought we'd have trouble with the transition from bottle to dry food but Jasper went for the dry food immediately when we offered him Purina One.

When I saw that my vet recommended this brand, the first though that popped into my head was, "I bet it's expensive." HOWEVER, I prefer Purina ONE mainly because of the price. ~$21.00 for a 16-pound bag that is delivered to my door AND my vet prefers it? Heck yes I'm buying it over any other kitten food! My cat likes it. I like the price. And I like that my vet isn't judging me for serving him Meow Mix. :-) Everyone's happy! How long does one bag last?: I have estimated that for one kitten, if you're feeding it a HEALTHY AMOUNT each day (i.e. not "free feeding"), then one 16-lb bag will last about three or four months. *Side note - most new kitten owners are unaware of the recommended amount to feed their kitten. For the health of your cat and to promote longevity in his life, please Google what you should be feeding a kitten. It's a MUCH smaller amount than you'd expect. Like humans, being overweight in animals is unhealthy and will shorten their life / increase medical problems. Feeding your animal the right amount from the very beginning promotes good habits. Okay, I'm off my soapbox, buy this kitten food!!!
