Every birthday for a 2 year old in my life receives this gift. I love these. They are sturdy and every child who has received them has loved them. They are the perfect size for little hands. Easily holds a small amount of liquid for play. Easy to wash and EXTRA durable. My daughter has owned them for 4 years and they look just as great as when we got them. She still plays with them as well (she is 6 now). I highly recommend these for your own child and as a great gift for others!

My daughter is tea party obsessed. Leading up to her 2nd birthday, I believe we had purchased and given up on 3-4 play tea sets before we tried this one. They ended up being cheap, leaked, cracked, weren't intended for actual use, and didn't hold up after being washed. This tea set is wonderful. It is sturdy while still being small and easy to handle. It is safe to eat and drink from, washes easily, and 6 months of regular play later, has not scratched and scuffed as many plastic toys do. Green toys are a long Standing favorite of ours for these reasons. This tea set was everything we needed while continuing to hold up to toddler playtime and expectations.

We have had this set going on 2 years. My girls are now 3 and 5 and we have used it for actual tea more times than can be counted. It still looks brand new. There isn't a mark anywhere on any of it that would show how old it is. We have the teapot with the wide lid and the spout coming from the base. Green toys should update their picture as I believe the picture shown is an older model. The lid on ours stays put, absolutely never falls off while pouring. If it is empty you can turn it upside down and the lid will stay attached. It doesn't leak. The cups are a very nice size for little girls to lay with and drink from. A lot of tea sets have cups so tiny it's ridiculous. These cups are the perfect size in my opinion. Big enough to be able to actually add cream and sugar to your tea, but not so big as to take away the joy little girls will have in refilling their cup a couple times per pot. The cups sit on the plates perfectly. The little spoons are darling. If there is ANYTHING I would change about this set, it would be to remove the little holes in the bottom of the sugar bowl. I have no idea why they put those there. It makes no sense at all. However I stuck a piece of packing tape on the bottom 2 years ago and I haven't had to replace it yet. So it really isn't an issue. We fill the bowl with sugar, we fill the creamer with cream or milk, and we put a tea bag and hot water in the teapot, get out some little cookies, and have a nice time. If I lost this set I would immediately buy another one. I wouldn't even look at anything else.

We have owned this tea set for over 6 years. It is still in PERFECT condition, which says a lot since it was gifted to my oldest child and is now being used by our youngest (who is the 8th child). It's been through many hands and many parties and many washings. We did receive the original faulty teapot with the seam that leaked and the company happily replaced it years later when they had updated the design. Now we have a perfect, leak-free teapot. I love the look and feel of this set. And I love that the kids can really eat from them. Customer service is also outstanding. We also own their dinnerware set and they happily replaced some missing utensils for free! They seem to be happy to help kids enjoy their toys as much as possible. We have also purchased their planes and boats and cars, and also have the chunky bus and fire truck - all used outdoors and all in excellent condition. Very little (if any?) fading. I'm happy to support this company. Thanks, Green Toys!

I wasn't expecting much given the quality of most toys I have experienced over the years. The first thing I noticed was the nice quality box the set came in. Next, it was very easy to open. Lift a tab, lift the top, and pull out spacer. No Disney Chinese wire ties or plastic ties that require wire cutters and patience to remove. I child could actually open this set without tools. A rubber band held the 4 spoons together. The build quality and design are impressive. I know working with recycled plastic is difficult, but they seem to have mastered this process. All the parts are sturdy and resilient. No obvious signs of weak mold joints. Color is very consistent. The teapot holds water and pours without leaking. The lid stays put (you are supposed to hold down the lid on a teapot when pouring). It it not like the set in the first picture. The second picture is accurate. The teapot, cups, saucers, cream cup, spoons, and sugar bowl appear to be able to withstand child play for many years. The sugar bowl has holes in the bottom so it can open easier as the lid is tight. I very much appreciate the dishwasher safe. I am pleased with the set and find the price very fair for the quality.

We have quite a few Green Toys trucks and really like the quality, so when I saw the tea set I was intrigued. We don't actually use it for tea...we're more of a cocoa and cider type of family, but my kids still love using it. We've put it in the dishwasher (top rack) multiple times with no issues. I use my Keurig and put it directly into the tea pot and let it cool to a safe temp. My 4 year old can usually pour without spilling and my 2 year old does pretty well too. Yes, the lid can come off, but it hasn't really been an issue for either of them. Spills are a part of life, I don't feel my kids make any more mess using this tea set than they do at a typical meal. I know some people complain about the holes in the sugar bowl. I think these holes are for safety reasons...the same reason there are little holes in plastic Easter eggs nowadays (so kids don't suffocate themselves when putting it over their mouth and nose). Here's some simple solutions...they could just use their imaginations and not even have any sugar in the bowl at all. Or you could use sugar cubes (or marshmallows for the cocoa) instead. Still really want to use granulated sugar and know for sure your kid wouldn't put the sugar bowl over their face? Line it with Press n seal (not saran wrap) it works great to cover the holes.

We lovelovelove this tea set! I first bought it for my now-6yo when he was 2 or 3. He loved it so much that my bestie bought him another set (in primary colors) for her house. Then, she had a child and bought the pastel set so the 2 sets in her house wouldn't get mixed up. Her baby loved my son's THAT much! In March, my baby turned 2yo and you guessed it...we bought another set. The 6yo has lost a couple of pieces (we've moved) so it's nice to have a complete set, plus extra pieces in their play kitchen. My niece turns 2yo next week so I just ordered another set *lol* I can't praise this set enough :-) We love all of the Green Toys that we've purchased over time. I don't buy many plastic toys but I never worry about these. None of them have broken and all of them are easy to clean. I've seen my 10yo stand on one of the teacups and you wouldn't be able to tell which one! Since I was already on Amazon to purchase the tea set for my niece, I also popped the cupcake set into my cart. I'm sure my little boys will be VERY happy with that surprise :-)

This is absolutely my favorite little tea set! It is perfect for my sweet little toddler who loves to make tea for everyone! I love that everything is made of recycled materials, its great quality, and its cute too! I LOVE Green Toys and this tea set is no exception. If you are looking for a high quality, adorable tea set for your little one, I highly recommend. I love watching my sweet little one play tea party with this special tea-set. (December 2017: UPDATE: STILL A FAVORITE. We have bought this Green Toys Tea Set for several other children we love it so much!) Was this review helpful?

I will continue buying this brand for its quality. The only thing I don't like is the purple container is so small I cannot pick up the lid by holding the nob on the top of the lid. But my toddler's fingers are small and he has no trouble doing so.

FINALLY! An adorable tea set for my BOYS! It seems that all tea set makers envision their audience to be frilly little girls who love pinks and purples. As a tea drinking parent, my little boys wanted to be in on all the delicious milk-honey-chai action, but I was not about to trust my 6 and 3-year-olds with my very breakable tea pots and cups. Not only is the color awesomely gender neutral, they feel very solid and we all enjoy drinking out of them during our daily tea parties. My boys are pretty rough on these and they are still looking as good as when we got them months ago. Bonus: they are made from recycled plastic so you are saving the Earth with your purchase.
