First off, let me start by saying I'm a former comic book nerd. I still enjoy the classics, and that's what you're getting here. Names that just about everyone outside of the genre has heard of; Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, The Joker. A few are a bit more random, like Deathstroke the Terminator. But, you'll have that in a game with lots of characters. Over on the Mortal Kombat side, they also went with the safe bet and gave us most of the fan favorites. I have been underwhelmed with most of the Mortal Kombat stuff that has been thrown out there in the last seven or eight years, but I found this game to be a delight. It's easy to learn, it has a bunch of characters, but not enough to make it impossible to get good at a majority of them, and, if you waited till now to pick it up, it's pretty darn cheap. If you're reading reviews, that means you're at least thinking about buying this game. Stop now, and buy it. It's worth your money, if only for the lovely chaos that is The Joker. Seriously, just say "Boxing Glove Gun" out loud, and you know you'll want this. Gameplay is good, graphics are good, sound's alright, characters are well-chosen and diverse enough to please even the more picky of fighting game enthusiasts. There's no bonus content, though. There's a story behind all that, but if you care all that much, google it.

So excited to find this game it made my husbands day! We used to play this before we had kids or got married so it was a great nostalgic find

I am a big fan of Mortal Kombat since I was a kid so of course when I got my Xbox I had to get this game. The game overall is easy to learn how to play, you can pretty much just start thumbing your controller anywhere and you will win. I did this when I first started playing it and worked just fine until I figured it out on my own. There is a cheat sheet in the menu when you push pause that will tell you how to do certain moves, I discovered that too late. 2 player game or 1 player game. There is also a thing that will let you just practice and test out moves. There is some blood and wicked smiles or laughs and evil eyes in this game but over all nothing too bad that I wouldn't let my kids play.

Outside of the fundamental approach to the casual 3D fighting style of Mortal Kombat there were several unique qualities added into the mix that brought some sparkle to the platform. One such mark of interest was the fact that you can ram opponents through obstacles and battle mash your buttons in a struggle to reduce or reverse damages. The game definitely has its moments where the intelligence of the game developers surfaces and it isn't too shabby. Essentially, I am a fan of Batman, Mortal Kombat (primarily the character Scorpion), and fighting games in general. The fact that game comes off a bit dry at times really doesn't hinder me while playing due to the fact that there are hidden characters and the like as incentive to stay somewhat focused. I, however, cannot confirm but, suspect that when the appeal of the hidden "easter-eggs" has worn down the game's re-playability will take a fatal head dive to the mat. It is fun for the sake of having a Mortal Kombat cross-over especially considering that the D.C. character line-up: The Flash, the Joker, Batman, Cat-woman; etc. are all well done, all faithfully reproduced, and in strong character. The MK characters that you would demand be present are all there with the same being so for the D.C. Universe line-up. The game has dropped dramatically in price, covers a niche pretty well, has strong Mortal Kombat fighting mechanics and no chump character line-ups. So, if you like fighters, have a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket, and enjoy twisted cross-over style games then this title will probably satisfy your urge. For the money I shelled out for the game, getting it brand new, and the details I explained above I have to rate this title pretty well.

My son loves it. Arrived in time and as described.

I have been a Mortal Kombat fan forever, it is one of the few fighting games that, as a girl, I enjoy playing. I was ecstatic when I found this game because it was one that I would enjoy playing, but even better, it was a two-player game that I could share with my boyfriend :) When it arrived and I showed it to him he busted up laughing because I had found the perfect game for the both of us. He is a big comic fan and gets a kick out of Wonder Woman beating up Scorpion. As for the game play, it is good. The graphics are pretty cool and the arenas are new. I recommend this to any fan of MC or DC Comics. It's good for a few laughs if nothing else :)

Alright let's be frank. This game is for all the people who loved the first 3 MK's. After that Mortal Kombat 3, the games stared to go downhill. You want everything back to old school with some new material. Then this mortal kombat is for you. Those who thought the games after Mortal Kombat 4 were better then the first three. Don't bother buying or reviewing this game. Your comments will already be checked at the door. Talk about a 5/5.

I bought this for my sons friends birthday. He just turned 11 and he loves superhero’s and the Mortal Kombat. I found this game and it was the perfect gift. A few days after his birthday I asked his mom how he likes the game and she said he loves it.

Works as advertised, no issues. I would recommend.

I haven't played a Mortal Kombat game since winter of 95' which was UMK3. I read most of the reviews on this game which were negative just because the lack of blood/gore which doesn't make a game good nor bad in my opinion. So I took a chance and gave it a try. Interesting enough the graphics are amazing and the game play is fun even though I don't particular like the combo system. The combos only seem to require a little bit of timing at the beginning and then the rest is input in sequence no matter what is happening on screen. It took me a little while to figure this aspect out which makes no sense at all and may drive you crazy. I absolutely love the air combat stuff ... now that's what I call fun ... lol. The story line & combos make this game a treat to play and highly recommend giving it a try ... it's definitely worth adding to your library of games. Sure, I also would've liked to seen some hardcore fatalities but it's still fun to play without them and we have MK9 to look forward too.
