The whole dog journal recommended not to pour kibble out of the original bag ...
I was looking for an airtight container that could hold the 28lb bag of kibble still in the bag. The whole dog journal recommended not to pour kibble out of the original bag because it would expose the kibble to more oxygen than necessary, which causes the food to go stale and lose nutrients faster. This did the trick!

Iris brand has never failed me
I have owned three of these containers in three different sizes for three entirely different purposes. Bed Bug Insanity: I purchased a slightly narrower version to hold dirty laundry when our building underwent a three month treatment protocol. Bulk Flour, Grain Bugs: again with the bugs. Worked very well after an infestation while we tossed all the grain based products. My brand, 40lb Dog food: the whole bag fits easily in the Iris 69 qt size with room to spare. If you choose to dump the bag into the Iris, this size will accommodate with room to spare. I am confident you can fit 50 lbs in this container. 60? maaaaaaybe. Note: My brand dry dog food has bits the size of an elongated chicklet gum piece. Your happiness may vary.

Keep food stored in original bag, inside airtight container
There are numerous articles about the best way to store your pup’s food, and this is the way we chose. By keeping the dog food in the bag it comes in (which is specifically made to tolerate & keep the ingredients) and also sealing it up in an airtight container, the food will last longer, not leave the container messy, and keep bugs/pests out. The food we feed our lab is pretty rich (compared to the old dog food we fed our dogs 20 years ago!) and has lots of fats from the fish that were leaving a brown oily gunk behind in the container. We felt it was unsanitary to ignore it, but also didn’t want to deal with washing out the container in the bathtub every 4 weeks. This container is the PERFECT solution for us. It is narrow enough to fit in our pantry space, and the perfect fit for the 25lb bag of food we buy. (Pictured: Partially eaten bag of food, container without the wheels)

Great for storing items for kids! They're easy to roll & open.
We use these for organizing toys for my kids!! We had one bucket that was getting dusty and gross, that sat behind the couch when they weren't in use. The toys at the bottom we're getting very funky, dusty & covered in pet hair. I bought six containers and organize their toys by type. The kids can roll them around the house very easy, pick them up very easy, and open them up very easy. It's been over six months now, and the toys are all perfectly clean, and the kids can put them back so easy so they don't get all mixed up in a big bucket. I've never use them for food storage, but for toy storage, they're the best thing ever!!

Exactly what we needed!
Due to a mouse problem this winter, our house suddenly looks like we bought stock in plastics. I was looking for somewhere to store our dog food, as that seems to be the first thing they go for. We have 3 dogs, so we buy our dog food in large bags, and finding storage for it that is both large enough and still easy to handle can be a challenge. The wheels roll easily, even when loaded down with dog food, and the lid seals and latches. I can’t vouch for it being airtight, but it’s certainly tight enough that a mouse can’t get in. My only criticism is that I would take the weights given with a grain of salt. The label lists that it will hold 54+ pounds of dog food. We buy 25.3# bags 2 at a time. This picture is of the container with one full bag — looks more than half full to me. I didn’t risk opening the second bag and attempting to pour it in for fear that it wouldn’t fit and I’d wind up with a partially full, open bag of dog food — mouse paradise! I’m sure this just has to do with food density, so how could they really know exactly how much it would hold. No worries... I’ll leave the 2nd bag in my car until these dogs eat a few meals and leave me enough room to add it to the top. Still, this product was exactly what we needed.

First 25lb dog food, wheels make it handy!
Love this bin! I have it for a 25lb bag of dry dog food by Good Natured. It fit perfectly with room for my own scoop. My dog bin space was very limited but this fits perfectly under my microwave, which is on a sewing table with limited dimensions. The bin arrived in great condition; I wiped it down before using. I haven't noticed any bugs or ants; the lid seems to seal well. The bin prior to this (a plastic tote) was home to a kitchen moth infestation so looking to not repeat that! The best thing about this bin is the wheels. I'm 5 months pregnant so dragging ou a heavy bin was out of the question. This is so easy to use!

Great for Pet Food but It Has Another Purpose Too!
I love these storage containers! I have 2 11 Qt. containers to store cat food. They are airtight and keep the food fresh. However, there is another use for these containers that most people probably have never thought about. I have searched for litter box disposal systems and found none of them to my liking. The refills are very expensive and would require a small fortune in a given year (just for 2 cats). Other types of containers were not airtight. This product is. I purchased the 33 qt. size, although a slightly smaller size would work. I use the 13 gal. trash bags which fit perfectly. They are a little longer than the container which keeps the weight of the waste from pulling the bag off. I do use a band around the top to help hold the bag on. The opening of the container is large so it is easy to get everything into the container and not on the floor. There are other containers that would work but most of them open with a foot lever, which I did not want. I also wanted one that had wheels on it. The smaller sizes do not. I find it helpful to just roll it out so I can clean the area around it. This is due to cats who find it necessary to dig in the litter box until they reach the center of the earth! I would definitely recommend this product for litter waste and, of course, for the purpose it was originally made for....pet food storage!

Awesome, holds 35+ lbs. of dog food
How have I lived without this for so long? We have two dogs that each have a different kind of food (one puppy, one senior). We have a small house and finding space for two large bags of dog food, and keeping them out of them, was difficult. I had them on my dining room chairs but that prevented us from using those chairs plus it looked terrible. Welcome to my home! Look at my dog food bags! No. The price on this bin is insanely low, so I bought two and still feel like I robbed the seller. They are large enough to hold the 35 lb. bags of dog food and then some. The wheels roll smoothly, and the locking lid is awesome. One of the best pet investments you can make.

Dog food is finally manageable!
Goodbye to filling up that 5-gallon home depot bucket every week, hello dog food organizer! :D I am really happy with this container!! We buy the big bags of Pedigree dog food from Costco, and the entire bag fits into the container. While the bag is full, you may need to force the top of the container to snap on correctly, however as the food goes down, this becomes less of a problem. (And as long as you're aware of this, it's not much of a problem to begin with, just take extra caution to snap the top closed). We used to have a bucket for our dog food that we'd pour a portion of the dog food into and then tie up the bag to seal up the rest of the food. Well, that leaves me with 2 giant containers for the dog food, so I was looking for something that would just simply hold all the food so that it would be more manageable. I gave this one a shot, and it's awesome. I love that it's on wheels, and yes I can see that it's not the sturdiest of plastics but so far it has held up just find under the weight of the big bag of food. I cut the top off the dog food bag and placed the entire bag in to this storage container and it slid right in, fit like a glove. It's also much easier for my daughter to handle the dog food this way, she is 7 and likes to feed the dogs but with the big bag and the bucket it often left a bit of a mess but not anymore :) If this somehow happens to break along the way, I think I find that it's cheap enough and useful enough that I would buy the same container again.

Just what I was looking for
I used to use plastic bins to store my dog's food. I have two large dogs so I purchase food in large quantities. One dog requires special food so it must be kept separate from the others. It was difficult to lift the containers when refilling the food bins so I wanted something on wheels. I saw this product and it was fairly inexpensive so I decided to try it. It's perfect! I plan on purchasing one or two more. The lid seals tight and the container is super easy to roll around during feeding time. It's a bit small for my dog's food since we but 40-60 lb bags every other month but it does hold quite a bit!
