- Named after its designer, George T. Morgan, this silver dollar is noteworthy and highly collectible because it is the last in U.S. Mint's series of "cartwheel" silver coins. The Morgan silver dollar was minted between 1878 and 1904, and again, for a final year in 1921. Al of the coins have been dubbed cartwheels because Lady Liberty, whose profile appears on the coin's obverse (front) is surrounded by a ring -or cartwheel - of stars. George

Piece of History
Morgan Silver dollars are truly a piece of American History with their roots firmly in the Comstock Lode of sliver discovered in California in the 1800's. These coins will most likely never loose their value and are one of the most; if not the most, traded and demanded coin in America. Never mind they are 90% silver, which is a solid investment. You cannot go wrong with an investment in Morgan Silver dollars, no matter what the date. Keep in mind the silver content alone is worth the price. Plus, if paper money ever is devalued; which is closer than ever with our National debt, this coin will insure you do not go without.

Very Interesting Coin, Worth the Price
Although this isn't my first review ever, this is my first time leaving some feedback as to a coin purchase. For those interested in getting a Morgan silver dollar, this is a pretty good buy. According to [...] the value of the coin is around $38 at the time of posting this. While I'm still learning, it would seem as though a few dollars more than what the coin is basically valued at is fairly common, so 4 more dollars is fairly reasonable at ~$42 for a $38 coin. Also according to that website, high quality Morgans are fairly commonplace due to lack of circulation. This is a high quality Morgan, and that's important for any coin. It's expensive for most people, but it's really a handsome coin. For a starter coin collector like myself, it's a good starting silver dollar.

100% Worth the buy!
Came 100% exactly as described. Coin is in "Like New" condition, hadn't seen much circulation. Been very interested in finding a Morgan silver dollar in good condition, wasn't disappointed. Although the coin has very-very minor scrapes along both faces of coin, it is in excellent condition for being 98 years old. Outer rim is very solid with no dents or chips. Face has high detail. Coin isn't darkened or stained. Overall very impressed with the quality of the coin considering it's age.
