Great help for aging eyes
These Carson Optical Clip and Flip 1.5x Power Magnifying lenses are the answer I was looking for to help with my drawing and painting. I love doing highly detailed artwork but once I passed 60 years of age, my eyes just couldn't focus in on tiny, fine details. I tried a much stronger pair of these clip-on magnifiers but they were much too powerful. I could only see if I was within about 4 or 5 inches of the work and that was much too close to allow room for my brushes or pencils to maneuver. I tried these 1.5x power magnifiers and there are just perfect! I wear bifocals and these clip-on lenses make my distance prescription an excellent mid-range focus for working at arm's length on a painting or drawing on my easel. They turn my reading prescription of my bifocals into a slightly magnified view that is just perfect for working those fine details at a natural distance. I thought I had to give up my favorite kind of painting but these little miracles have given me a new lease on enjoying what I love again. Their optical quality is top notch. They are easy to clip onto my regular glasses and they flip up out of the way when I don't need them. If you do work or hobbies that require crisp, up-close focus, these Carson Optical Clip and Flip 1.5x magnifiers could be just what you need. Try them for yourself!

Perfect to put on my safety glasses.
I don't wear glasses. After my LASIK surgery...I play heck seeing up close anymore. My hobby consits of using a flex shaft to grind/polish,etc. tiny parts. I wear safety glasses but cannot see up close. This clip on is a miracle! I clip it on my safety glasses and WOW! totally perfect!! Simply flip it up with ease to do non-close up work, then flip it down again. Very light weight. Comes with a nice felt material case bag with drawstrings to close it.

They work great
I do a lot of hand-sewing, and these are very helpful. Just clip them on my glasses (which are already bifocals) and that extra boost is just what I need. I've used them for at least five years and am just on my second pair. After a lot of use (and bouncing around in my sewing box), the first pair finally cracked so I bought the same ones again. They are sturdy, and I like the way I can flip them up (you have to not mind looking like a dork to wear them flipped up). They also have a nice little carrying case. At least five or six of my friends have gotten them after trying mine out.

Using for Embroidery
These are amazing. I do a lot of fine needle work for hours a day and my eyes can get tired having to stare and focus on small details for so long. But these have given my eyes much needed help. I recommend for anyone looking to get something for magnifying up close craft work. I originally ordered the 1.5x but exchanged them for the 2x and they arrived quickly. The lenses also hold on well to your glasses. I’m not sure if it makes a difference if you’re not wearing square shaped glasses(?) but i haven’t had any issues with them.

Worth 7 stars - best I have ever used!
These clip-and-flip magnifiers are the best I have ever used, no close second. I do closeup work with computer repair, firearm adjustment, and jewelry cleaning. These clip-ons are optically perfect, lightweight, easy to attach, stay in place, and fit right into my pocket in their own custom case. For less than ten bucks a pair, you can't ask for more! I have used other brands that are heavy, bulky, and are literally a pain in the neck. Took a chance with these and ordered two sets. One went into my computer bag, the other is in my range kit. I might order another pair or two just to make sure I have a set located where I might need to see clearly up close and personal.

A great help for reading up close
These are so good for me that I bought three extra sets, as I keep putting things down & can't find them when I want them. I have the new lousy fancy eye glasses that I realty hate, but with my eyes being so bad, the sellers claim that normal glasses would be too heavy for me to wear. The nose piece is about 1/16" thick, so the clips fit over the bracket. My lenses are only 1" from top of the frame to the bottom, & the magnifying lens are 1 1/2" , which means that if I push the clip all the way down to the glass frame, the nose piece & the lens create pressure & are uncomfortable to wear, so I just barely hook them on to the nose piece & I use both hands when I flip the glasses up or down, which helps them from falling off. For someone that is active, this won't be too good as they will bounce off, but, as I am only reading while sitting, the glasses don't fall off. These are only good for working up close or reading up close, which means that they won't be of any use to make out checks or trying to use the computer or other similar projects. For me, they have made my reading more enjoyable, but as we all have different eye problems, these might not work for others. The quality of the glasses and the frames are very good, which is a surprise, as they came from China. Look for price & shipping. +JMJ+

Practical & Efficient
I wear prescription bi-focal eyeglasses for driving and editing/proofreading work; but I wear these magnifiers clipped to a pair of generic 10X glasses which hang around my neck for most of my waking hours at home. I probably flip down these magnifiers 40-50 times each day for everything from checking "Lean Cuisine" microwave cooking times to the fine print on warranties or CD/DVD liner notes, and they never let me down. This particular pair of Carson Clip-and-Flips replaces the same product I used for years until I accidentally snapped them in half at the bridge in a freak mishap (snagging them on the paper feed of my computer printer). But even though I had to replace the pair I originally purchased, I want to stress that the first pair lasted at least 5 years and suffered through countless drops, bangs, and bumps before succumbing to the aforementioned calamity. I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of additional magnification in a variety of reading circumstances. They clip on to almost any glasses with a top frame and remain secure until one removes them. Reasonably priced and shipped with their own carrying case.

They are much better than using a hand held glass.
This magnifying lens is just what I needed. This item is high quality, with a clear distortion free lens. I found it slightly difficult to get the hang of attaching to my glasses at first. Once attached, flipping them up and down is simple and easy. They are much better than using a hand held glass, as both hands are free to hold the book or object you are viewing. The best thing about them is having them attached to your glasses and the ability to switch between regular vision and magnified vision so simply and quickly. These lenses met my expectations and I would definitely recommend this product.

Good for shop
Got these for sharpening chain saw and shop close up work. They are very powerful so you have to be very close to work but you can see every tiny detail

Just What Eye Was Looking For ;-)
O.K., I admit it: my eyes aren't what they used to be. But with the addition of these flip up magnifiers to my glasses, I am able to tackle tasks that are beyond the capabilities of my prescription. Great for tying size 18 or smaller flies, pulling splinters from my children's feet, or any other job that requires close up, magnified vision. They are lightweight, easy to attach/remove, and stay in place without issue. The supplied carrying case is not too bad and has a nice, soft, lens friendly lining. Optically, they do not distort the field of view although they do demand that you remain within the focal depth of the lens to remain in sharp focus. Overall I am very pleased with these magnifiers and would buy them again. Highly recommended if you need a little boost to your regular prescription eye wear.
