High Quality

Bought two of these - one for each of my toddler/preschoolers. They are an easy grab to keep the kids occupied if/when necessary. We fill them with paper, colored pencils, stickers, erasers, etc. High quality, the plastic has stood up to being dropped and banged around on things. The clasp that holds it closed is very sturdy. Very happy with this purchase!

I have been using clip boards for a variety of art projects as I tend to have several going at the same time. But, I was getting frustrated because over time, the edges and often entire project would get damaged from exposure. THIS storage clipboard is perfect for my needs--I work to my hearts content and store many items inside--including a few of the tools so when travelling I can eliminate the need for an extra container! I added a fat rubber band along the bottom to keep my paper flat, but I'm so happy with this storage clipboard that I ordered another!

Well Designed - Made in USA

I liked the fact that it has a metal hinge pin instead of just plastic to bend back & forth & eventually break. Also the way the clip is attached is interesting - very smart. No rivets needed. makes it easy to replace if spring ever breaks. It should be noted that there is no built in prop as is shown in some of the pics, but any piece of stiff masonite or heavy cardboard could be used to do so. & the prop could be stored inside. Wouldn't have minded having 1" of inside storage instead of 3/4" but it is ok.

Great product, made by blind Americans

I love this clip board! I can't imagine anyone thinking it's flimsy. It's very heavy duty plastic, the hinge is durably made and the mechanism to open/close it works well and easily, and the clipping part holds very firmly. The storage inside is deep enough to hold several tablets and pens but not so deep as to be bulky and in the way. It's a bright, beautiful pink, which is always a plus for me. AND what I didn't realize when I purchased it, it's made by a company which boast on an attached sheet "Proudly made in the USA by American who are blind". So I feel doubly good about this purchase.

Great for substitute teachers!

This thing is so useful and so far durable. I am a substitute teacher. As a sub, I need to have an attendance sheet, sub plans, and a writing utensil available at all times. This clipboard takes care of all of that! Plus I can also carry my cell phone and/or a timer inside. Perfect for my needs.

Design's okay, but not perfect

A clipboard seemed like an odd thing to buy as a college student, but it turned out to be a great purchase. I've used this baby for lots of things. It's seen serious endeavors like giving surveys at community gatherings, but it's also seen Dungeons and Dragons game nights. It sometimes subs in as a small lap desk or any time I need a small, hard surface. I usually fill it with a notepad, some pens and pencils, and whatever documents apply to what I'm about to do. It lets me keep everything together and have a good writing surface. It's also extremely durable. Mine has seen a lot of action in its lifetime. Once you have a storage clipboard, you seem to find a dozen unexpected uses for it. Some people have complained about the design, which is justified. I do admit to wishing it opened from the side, as it seems like it would be more convenient. Also, I wish the surface was smoother, like on wooden clipboards. On this, the surface is textured so that you can't really write on it if you're only using a few pieces of paper, or else the writing will turn out wobbly. It's fine if you have a notepad, though. It's not perfect, but it's nice and I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of it. It's incredibly convenient to have.

Excellent quality, but probably not suited for nursing school clinicals

This product is sturdy and lightweight at the same time. The clip hold on to several sheets of paper easily, and the interior hold even more paper well. And it is a great solid writing surface. However, if you're contemplating this for use in nursing school clinical rotations, I don't recommend it. It's not compact, so you'll find yourself trying to figure out where to put it as you provide nursing care during clinicals. And think about the implications... two words-- infection control. Using this clipboard during nursing school clinicals means putting it down on a surface in a patient's room. You'd be inadvertently picking up bacteria. And then you'd take that clipboard, go into another patient's room, and transferring the bacteria from the first patient's room to another patient's room. Not to mention carrying those organisms to your home. AND, what about accidentally forgetting your clipboard in a patient's room or somewhere at the clinical site in general. For nursing school clinicals, if you need something to hold your clinical papers that can be quickly put away, you're better off with one of those clipboard that fold in half. They cost around $30, but easier to have around.

It's just what I needed

I work for FedEx. This is great for keeping forms, supplies, and extra pens handy while also working as a clipboard. I've been using it for about 5 months as of the writing of this review, so I can attest to it's durability. Both the top clamp and the locking clip are well constricted and easy to operate. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat, but it looks like I won't have to for a while. 12/01/11: Coming up on a year and this clipboard is still in great condition. Yeah, it's got a few scuffs on the back, but the hinge, top clamp, and the locking clip are still as good as they were on day one! 08/20/16: I've had this clipboard 6 years now and it still works as great as it did the day I bought it. It doesn't get heavy use. I carry it from my locker to the truck and back again in when finished. I open it whenever I need it's stored goodies (maps, labels, band aids), and use the clip for a few forms. Still going strong!

Works as intended

This storage clip board works as intended for my purposes. Although lightweight, it feels sturdy. There is ample storage inside for some paper and pens. A regular plastic stick pen will slide into the external clip for easy access storage as well. The the tension on the clip is set well, being strong enough to hold the paper in place, but not so strong as to be difficult to lift when inserting or removing sheets of paper. I also like being able to use a stick pen or CD case to prop open the lid to use this clip board as a lap desk or to hold copy up at an angle so that it is easy to read when typing on a keyboard.
