Many advantages when compared to a regular clipboard

This clipboard is a big improvement over a regular clipboard. The quality of it is very good. You can store pens and other items inside of it and it is so big that I can always quickly locate it when I’m driving in my pick-up truck. I use it for my real estate sign installation route. For example, if I have 10 signs that I need to install/remove in a day, I put the 10 orders on top of the clipboard and move each order inside the clipboard when it is completed; it helps me to stay organized. Also, I have dropped this thing at least a dozen times at this point and it certainly can handle the abuse.

Love the shelf. Great industrial strength

Had a tough box for 7 years and the only reason I replaced It was the hinge wire broke. Glad I did because my search brought me to this one which has a shelf inside that I never thought I needed but since I started using It I’ve found multiple reasons for why it’s there. Great for daily use in the field and can take a beating. I’ve dropped this a few times. I also like how It opens from the top, I find this helps with the times my old one would open unexpectedly while taking It out of my briefcase spilling its contents. Would buy again (hopefully I won’t have to for at least another 7 years)

So a lot of the other reviews complained about the sharp corners on this thing. Yes, they are a little sharp, but if you're careful, it will never be an issues. I use it on the road a lot and my only concern was it possibly tearing the upholstery in my new truck, but again just be careful. For the price, you can't expect perfection. There were other complaints about the interior, smaller storage area. People had stated that the problem was that when you open the main lid, that the internal smaller area would always open first. This was an easy and obvious fix for me. All you have to do is bend the little clip inside the storage area to be just a little tighter and it holds the smaller area up every time it's opened. So this was a non-issue for me right off the bat. I work as a parole officer and while I do carry a firearm daily, I wanted something that could possibly be used as an instant weapon already in my hands and ready to go, something enough to buy me some time. I have obviously never had to hit anyone over the head with it, but if it were ever to happen, better be sure I'm hitting them with one of those sharp corners lol. Now aside from the pure physical-ness of this clip board, let's talk about the features. As from the front clip on the outside of the board, it works flawlessly. It holds many papers tight and won't go anywhere. I wish they would have designed some sort of clip on the side front of the clip board as to hold papers from flopping around in the wind outdoors. But that comes with any clipboard. Now the smaller internal storage area is quite small and only big enough to hold standard size papers. I do keep business cards inside this compartment in a office clip about 10-15 high and it usually has no issues closing. The main storage area works great as well. It has a pretty big lower section that works great for pens and markers or whatever it is you need. The rest of the section fits my calendar book, misc papers and multiple files perfect. This thing was a great investment for what I do out in the work field. There are multiple people in my office whom have alum clipboards too and they all love them. Now if they are the same brand, I'm not sure but these types of clipboards work great for field work.

Great product for lefties!

I am a mechanical engineering student at a large state university and many of my classes are held in 300+ seat lecture halls. The few seats with left-handed desks are often in poor locations or are all taken by the time I get there. This device allows me to comfortable write and take notes at any seat, even if there is no desk attached to it. This clip board also allows me to keep all the items I need on a day to day basis in one convenient location, and prevents the need to carry them in a backpack. Also, the clip board can double as a miniature drafting table as drawing sketches and free body diagrams is often required in my coursework. 10/10 would recommend to any left-handed person tired of writing in awkward positions!

This thing is rad. I'm a yard manager at a truck company and this clipboard holds all of the forms I need and keeps the weather out. Yes it's a metal box. Yes it will have the pointed edges endemic to a metal box. If you can't handle a metal box ( see 1 star reviews, then smack your head ) then don't get this. However, if you're a professional, reasonably capable adult who can handle the 'delicate intricacies' of a clipboard, get this. It really kicks ass.

Item as expected. I had it engraved with my name and company logo, the black makes the engraving stand out nicely. I would prefer a slimmer clip, but this one is very durable and holds well.

Durable, lightweight, great price.

My husband is a supervisor for a local oil rig company and needed somewhere to store his important papers and stuff while on the job. I got this to surprise him and he was totally in love. This features two compartments under the metal piece with the clip. He can store pens, snacks, medicine and whatever else he may need on the job. We have had this for a few weeks now and it has held up great. He loves that it is both lightweight and durable enough to withstand the demands of his job at a great price.

Does the job perfectly.

Got this for my husband for work, and it's been absolutely perfect. Having the opening at the top makes it easy to access papers when standing, and it's not at all awkward. The clip is nice and strong and holds onto everything underneath. Having the divided inside space keeps him nice and organized. High quality and sturdily made. If it ever gives up, I'll get another one right away, but I am guessing this thing will last forever. Awesome product.

Well Built and Plenty of Storage.

Well-built and holds everything from notebooks, to pens, invoices, car keys in one place while I'm on delivery or on my jobsite. I no longer file wrinkled paperwork. This clipboard keeps everything as it is intended to be stored. Slightly expensive but worth it in terms of organization and build quality.... last but not least is made in the USA. Sold

Some scumbag stole it, from my front doorstep, before I got home from work (I'm traditional and I actually work for a living). Thing is, he/she/they busted open Amazon's shipping box, then opened the manufacturer's box and discovered that their stolen treasure was, just a metal clipboard (utilized by people who, actually WORK for a living). They must have felt very OFFENDED by this product and it's lack of value. So, they completely TOSSED the entire package out the window (boxes, product, etc.). I came home from work and discovered that my package was, indeed, missing. Drove around my neighborhood and found the discarded mess, a block from my house.
