Honestly this was super frustrating to put together for my boyfriend and I. It took about an hour and a half because it kept calling apart when we would try to click in the last piece, we hooked it up to be an extension to my dwarf hamsters house and putting the tunnels into it was horrible hard to do. BUT once it's done it looks really cool I would suggest to glue the parts together as you build to not have it fall apart every time you try to put the other squares together but we didnt glue ours because i plan on buying more to build onto it. It was alot smaller than I was thinking it would be and it comes with no instructions but I didn't mind that because it's like Legos when you create what you want which made it fun. I think it would be best as a small house or play area inside of a cage if you domt plan on glueing it together just in case it falls apart and the hamster escapes, also I wouldn't suggest this for a larger type of hamster my dwarf robo hamster fits well but I don't think something larger like a teddy bear hamster would fit comfortably. All in all though I think it was worth the trouble of building for my hammy he loves to run thru it and smell around outside of his cage. I plan on buying more to create something bigger :)

Awesome. It's the only easy way to have a standard cage tank topper and tunnels (see pics of the Kaytee Puzzle Playground w/ Fun-nel connectors attached.) We just got our Teddy Bear tonight and he's still pretty small. I think the playground (his being a Syrian) will no longer work for him when he is bigger, but will outgrow the tunnels soon (in a Fun-nel review a reviewers Syrian became stuck and got very scared.) I will probably return the Fun-nels but keep the playground. If you have dwarves...yay!

I really like using these puzzle playgrounds. Sometimes assembling the pieces together is a bit wonky, but its a lot of fun trying to figure out the best arrangement for my little hamster. To make sure the whole structure is stable, I use a dab of superglue to keep the pieces together. I don't super-glue the entire structure though, I leave parts of it alone so I can easily remove it for cleaning purposes. I use this with the Critter Trail tubes and attached it to the lid of the bin cage I made for my hamster. So far he really loves the rooms I made for him, he sleeps up there, and even stores all his food in the little compartment I made him. If you like being creative with your little hamster, I definitely recommend this.

Great addition to my hermit crab habitat! I often saw one or more of my hermit crabs climbing in or on it, through the doorways.. sleeping inside, etc. The openings are a good for medium-large crabs to fit through.. the ramp was even useable. They could climb the walls inside or out. By leaving the bottom open like a doorway, I could place it on the sand and if one wanted to, it could dig down from right inside the little house. Extra pieces also worked well as a ramp for them to get in and out of their pools. A very versatile little Puzzle Playground.

Great product! As an adult, I didn't have any issues putting this together or making changes to it after I had it put together. I think people manhandling this or children are putting it together is the cause of the undeserved negative reviews. I can pick the unit up, move it around and it doesn't fall apart. All the pieces stay linked together on their own (no tape or glue required) The packaging was well thought and complete with no broken pieces. The unit is colorful and highly usable for my Syrian hamster. The combinations of creation are almost endless. An excellent value for the money.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to get this or not because of some other people's reviews. I debated for about a month and then I finally decided to buy it. As soon as it got here I opened it and started playing around with it. A lot of people said that it's difficult to put together and it falls apart easily. I didn't have a lot of trouble getting things together. It was a little confusing figuring out how to put some of the pieces together because there were no instructions, but if you play around with it a little bit you'll finally figure it out. Pieces do fall apart if you put too much pressure on them, but once everything is together then I had no issues with anything falling apart. I used all of the pieces and it's definitely too small to use as an actual cage, but it was the perfect size to fit in my Robo Dwarf hamster's cage. I really wish that the 60 piece set was still available because I'd like to have the tubes and everything, but I can just buy some tubes. Overall I'm very happy with this! And so is Pete! (:

This has been a great addition to my dwarf hamsters cage. We have attached this along with another cage to give he plenty of room to roam. I will be purchasing a few more sets to add more. They are easy to put together and you can make them any way that you would like. They are easy to clean as well. I clean them two times a week as that is how often I clean her cage. I haven't had any issues of them falling apart, breaking, or her being able to get out on her own. I will admit when cleaning and putting them together the enters would pop out here and there if I applied even a little pressure.

Some people on here are being so dramatic.... I bought two of these and my hamster fits perfectly fine. She lives in a 20 gallon fish tank and the puzzle playground fits perfectly. I'm even considering buying a 3rd in the future to expand it. She really enjoys being in it. It'll take maybe 30-45 minutes to assemble (two) and yeah sometimes a couple pieces will come apart if you use too much force but it's not a big deal. I haven't had any need for glue. Everytime I clean my hamsters cage I change the playground slightly, just to keep it a little more fun. A lot of people got this for their dwarf hamsters, they're the perfect size. But my teddy bear fits perfectly fine as well, not crammed or anything. I not into legos or anything, much less actual puzzles, but this is fun to out together, especially after seeing your little hammy run through it. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Love it! Isn't as hard to put together as everyone says it is. A suggestion tho, if you have a Syrian hamster make sure to buy at least 2 boxes. I bought 3 and used 2 boxes with some left over pieces to make what I made in the first photo. It took me about 45mins to an hr to complete it. 2nd pic is using all 3 boxes and the 3rd is using all 3 boxes with even the left over material. BTW this is my first attempt making a puzzle playground so I think it just takes patience and working on a hard surface and snapping the pieces together right at the snapping area. Also I really want to get the 60 piece set with the tubes, hopefully they restock it bcuz I don't see it selling anywhere anymore :( I'm also going to order more of the puzzle playgrounds.

This was not as hard to put together as everyone made it seem. It wasn't a piece of cake, but it wasn't impossible either. Have a little patience. People said it took them 30 minutes to put 1 set of these together whereas I bought 3 sets and it took me the same amount of time to construct the monstrosity you see in my pictures. It was really fun to design and very satisfying to finally finish. And my mouse seemed to like it! Edit: I also see a lot of people saying a piece was missing. The kit comes with 15 borders and 14 inserts. It says so on the packaging. If this is what you are referring to then please do not complain (I agree it's silly that they don't match up but there is no missing piece). Most of the 1-start reviews are people who purchased this for the incorrect animal or who were too impatient to put it together. If you are considering buying this and don't mind taking the time to assemble, please purchase as it's a great product for small rodents. If you have anything larger than a small (not Syrian) hamster then of course it won't be the right size! That's not what it's meant for! Do some research before you buy something!!
