This is a nice easy to apply wax for outdoor furniture. Like any wax/oil type of product, you will need to reapply every 3 months or so. The people expecting it to last all year do not understand how hard it is to protect outdoor wood in harsh sun/rain environment. This is a nice penetrating finish that does not require stripping and sanding between applications. A simple wipe down with this every few months will keep outdoor wood looking.

Just sanded down (80 grit only) my 16 year old Soft Maple, .9" thick Adirondack chairs which have been out in the open, uncovered all year long, and within 3 football field of the Pacific ocean the entire time. Oil stained them (soaked) with MinWax Red Mahogany penetrating stain and after four days of curing, coated them with this Howard SWAX16 SunShield Outdoor Furniture Wax with UV Protection. THEY ARE THE BOMB!!!! Fantastic product and the chairs look and feel new! Weathered cracks and all! I bought 2 more bottles for my other outside furniture.

Restored a dried out, sun-beaten front door to a healthy glow. I will be buying this again, since the front door gets morning sun in Texas. So much sun that the original poly finish on the door is totally gone. The bare, stained wood was dry as a bone, but this stuff fixed it up. My door was so parched that after leaving it on for 30 minutes, I returned to find that there was nothing to wipe off. The same is true for the second coat. One bottle was gone when I was finished. Not for use on wood that has a shiny, poly coated finish. My indoor, matching cabinetry still had a poly coat and would not take this wax. It was weird, like giving a plant water; the wooden door just soaked it up and looked so much better when I was finished "feeding" it.

Amazing product. It's thick and really messy, so be prepared for that, but it's incredibly effective no matter how dry or damaged the wood that you're trying to protect. My front door needed two coats.. it'd been a very dry year and nothing else had done much to help with the way the wood was drying out from the dust and sun. But since I treated it, the door looks great. It needs occasional touch ups with the oil from the same company, but it looks wonderful and I'm extremely pleased with the effect. Remember that this does contain a wax.. so if you don't want that, this is not the product for you. But if you have wood furniture or doors that are hit by the sun a lot of the time, this is an invaluable help to keep the wood looking beautiful and prevent damage.

Out teak outdoor furniture was looking grey and rough. The product went on well. Since we've never waxed this furniture, I put on a thick coat, let it sit, and then buffed it off with a clean rag. As soon as the SunShield went on the difference was noticeable. It buffed off easily and then I let it sit a day before we sat in it. We had a lot of storms that summer and even a year later the furniture looks great and water still beads up on the surface. As a plus, the orange smell was fantastic and so unlike many harsh, chemical-laden products.

We are using this on our wood entry door that gets sun 3 months out of the year. Even though it's covered, the sun angles in during the winter and dries the door out. After two expensive refinishings within 4 years, we decided to try another option. The painter stripped the door and we actually liked the way it looked, so we had him just seal it. First rain it smelled wet so we knew it wasn't sealed properly. So we searched and decided to give this a try, we put this on about twice a year and the door is now stunning and protected with the added UV protection. We left it a natural with some of the old stains in the grooves, giving it a nice, rustic look. We've now solely used this for 10 years on the door and it weathers the elements nicely. We recommend this to everyone.

I used Semco teak stain every year, love the ease of use and color but the CA sun, salt air takes a toll. I was told not to use urethane sealer so the teak can breathe. Thried this the other day and am impressed. The chairs were in like new shape since I just put the stain on . Waited a couple days and applied this as directed. It made the color slightly richer/ deeper and added a bit of a shine. Also the few spots that were missed with stain looked better. So easy to use, wiped on in sun, let it sit for 20 minutes and most soaked into wood. Wiped off with tee shirt and appiled second coat. Loodls great will see how it protects since they are in sun all day.

My outdoor wood furniture had been worn by the AZ sun and then by the powerful sun when we moved to Peru. I even had the furniture refinished which helped for a little while but without furniture covers it was beginning to wear down and look pretty rough. I tried everything including Murphy's oil soap and was certain I would have to get it refinished again. Either that or use table cloths forever. I decided to give this stuff a try. I scrubbed the furniture and put on one coat (a little goes a long way so be careful). One coat was enough, it looks like new again! I am so thankful to have an answer to my problems!

My oak front door finish was fading fast; was it time to have it professionally refinished at a cost of hundreds-of-dollars? I have tried several wood finish restorers to help preserve the door finish with mixed results. I found SunShield and gave it a try. You simply wipe on, wait 30 minutes for it to penetrate, then lightly buff. The results were much better than expected. One bottle will provide several applications. It should also restore any wood outdoor furniture that is showing signs of weathering. However, don’t expect miracles. If the wood is severely weathered/damaged and the finish almost nonexistent, it’s time to refinish the wood surface.

I'm amazed and very pleased; this product has far exceeded my expectations and given results that surpass my hopes for it. I have a mahogany front door that was beginning to look too worn and was seriously considering having it refinished at a cost of several hundred dollars. On an impulse I decided to see if I could find something that might restore the finish and delay the refinishing expense. I"m happy to say this product has done exactly that; my front door looks really great again and it took only a few minutes and a little effort to produce outstanding results. I don't know how long the results will last but with so little time and effort involved I would gladly do this on a regular basis to keep my door looking so good. When I started applying the wax to my front door the results were so startling I had to call my wife to show her the before and after; she too was impressed with the change it made in the appearance of our front door. The product is in gel form and very easy to dispense onto a rag. In addition it takes a relatively small amount of the get so this bottle should last a very long time. I'm very pleased with this purchase and will recommend it to my friends and family.
