My daughter started kindergarten in September and these pencils were on her school supply list. She is tracing letters and numbers and doing some writing and math. So far these pencils have lasted. The tips don’t break off even though she pushes pretty hard. They are much easier for her to hold and learn proper pinch grasp. They are not as cute as her other pencils she gets as prizes and gifts. But they are far superior in quality and eases of use. And the eraser seems to last a while longer and not leave black streaks

This pencils are awesome!! I found out this pencils couple years ago and since that I only use this pencils for my girls. Great pencil to beginner and really strong so you not need to worry about broke the pencil tip from dropping or too much pressure from kids. My girls love this pencils and they has been use over 2 years but still like brand new. Highly recommend

Pencils. They do what you expect.

Pencils. What can I say about pencils. They write, they erase, you can sharpen them when they get dull. Ticonderoga is my favorite pencil brand. I know that I am getting a uniform product and that they will sharpen with ease and the lead wont fall out. These pencils are great for beginning writers or for anyone who would like a more substantial size that is easier to hold on to. My hand cramps if I hold a small pencil too long so this is great. I also use these for making large dots with the eraser while painting. The sharpener sharpens these pencils when you twist and it's nice because it's just the right size. The lead is larger than a standard pencil so if you have tiny handwriting try something else. (This should be common sense, but you never know.) An added bonus, they are #2 pencils and so they work with the Scan Tron tests. Do people still use Scan Tron tests? Well if you do need a #2 pencil, these will get the job done.

Great beginning pencil for young children.

As a retired elementary teacher I used and loved these pencils. I give them to all my little grandchildren and young acquaintances. Young children use pencils well before going to school now and should learn to hold them properly. Holding it incorrectly becomes a habit that can make writing a painful task. This is a great training pencil and is fatter than a regular pencil which is good for young children. Very high quality, which is difficult to find, and sharpens easily. I give them the X-Acto Pro Heavy Duty Electric Sharpener (1670) from Amazon to go with the pencils. It works for many diameter pencil sizes and is well worth the price for home use.

These are THE pencils to buy if you have younger kids. As a homeschooling mom, it is SO frustrating when pencils break (and break and break and BREAK). That is what happened to us over and over and OVER again before I found these! I love them and they are the only ones I will buy! My kids ages 4-8 love them too :) DEFINITELY worth paying extra!

Size is great for little fingers

I like that this comes with a sharpener, as these are oversized and won't fit a regular sharpener. They're round so the grip may be more difficult than if it had flat sides, but the size is the most important. Very easy for little inexperienced fingers to grab and write with. Ticonderoga really make great pencils. I looked for this product at back-to-school, but couldn't find it. I was very happy to find it online for such a great price. More expensive than regular pencils, but still a cheap price point for the value.

Helpful for adults with hand arthritis too

These pencils have been a lifesaver in math and biostatistics classes I am taking for my research. My fingers sting after typing all day, and the homework I do at night is added strain on the delicate joints (I make a lot of mistakes!). The wide barrel of these pencils is super comfortable and prolongs the time I can do fine hand work. The sharpener has slots for wide and regular-diameter pencils, and as a side benefit for ladies, the sharpener works well on eyebrow makeup pencils too.

High quality pencils perfect for small hands

A nice size for smaller fingers that might struggle to hold a thinner pencil. The eraser is quite thick and seems like it would last a long time (if my child would stop chewing it off). I love that it comes with its own eraser because, often-times this larger sized pencil is difficult to sharpen correctly in the average pencil sharpener and in fact it is too large to fit into my electric sharpener. So just an FYI to keep the sharpener that comes with it as it is needed. The graphite writes smoothly and doesn't break often. I find that they are high quality pencils and am pleased with my purchase.

Great Pencils for Young Writers

These pencils were on my son's Kindergarten supply list, and were a great buy. I bought another set for us to use at home too. I bought here because I like that the pack came with a sharpener. That is my only issue with these pencils, is that if you don't get a sharpener with them, you won't be able to fit them in a standard sharpener as they are too big. My son's classroom has an automatic sharpener with an adjustable opening, and that is how they sharpen them at school. Here at home, I use the handheld sharpener included in the pack, and it works well. The erasers on the pencils are good too. They are not too hard or soft, and erase pretty well.

Easy for little hands

We were looking for larger pencils for tiny hands to learn to hold and these fit the bill. They are helping my toddlers practice holding a pencil correctly before they learn to hold smaller pencils, so these definitely do the trick. They are sturdy and serve their purpose.
