Well worth looking into !!
So I took my 2007 Chevy Suburban on a trip recently. Low and behold 100 miles into it dash lights with “service traction control” and “stabiltrak off” lighting up on dash. This cycled on and off through out my 400 mile trip. Also noticed AFM wasn’t switching between V8 and V4 mode . Started researching online, horror stories of maf sensor replacement, $2000+ Repair bills etc. Came across on article that stated issues with cruise control intermittently working and service traction control messages appearing on dash. Have had a occasional cruise control issue. So I figure for under $12 bucks let’s take a shot. Glad I did. This little part controls so many things when I researched it . My issues have been resolved , took all of maybe 15 minutes to change it with a 10 mm wrench and a flat bladed screwdriver. A very inexpensive place to start if you are experiencing any of the above issues.

Fixed my Cruise Control - GMC Yukon
I have a 2011 GMC Yukon XL 1500 - it's cruise control was working intermittently, then stopped working all together. The indicator light was lit on the steering wheel, but the one on the dash no longer lit and the cruise control no longer engaged. I read online that "90% of cruise control problems" like I was having were related to this module. I figured for $12 I would give it a try (dealer wanted more than $500 to fix cruise control). It took me about 5 minutes to swap it out (it is located under the dash, right above the brake pedal) - one bolt & clip. It fixed my cruise control - now it works perfect again :)

Fix Suburban/Tahoe/Silverado cruise control issue for $10 In Under 5 Minutes.
My wifes 2007 Suburban cruise control would light up on the steering wheel but never engage. The CC originally worked fine but slowly developed problems where it would work when first engaged and then stop working once you pressed the brake pedal. I researched forums and found several posts detailing that the issue was this switch and there is even a you tube video showing how to replace it. (Just google '2007 suburban cruise control brake switch' for many hits including the video) I decided to take a $10 gamble and ordered the switch on a Thursday and it arrived Saturday morning. I got out a 10MM wrench, flashlight and small screwdriver as recommended, I moved the driver seat back as far as I could and lay down in the foot area and looked up and saw the switch immediately. Oddly enough, I did not see a 10MM bolt as shown in the video but I did see the retainer clip, I reached up with my small screwdriver and inserted it in the bottom and pulled down while twisting and the clip immediately shot off and fell on the floor. "It can't be THIS simple!" I thought. I then reached up and unplugged the wire from the switch (watch video!) and then reached up and pulled on the metal bar and the switch popped out immediately. Stunned, I put the new switch over the bar and slid it in place where the old one was, put the retainer clip on and inserted the wire. Total time - less than 5 minutes. Note - there IS a lot of white grease! I cleaned my hands and took the Suburban for a drive and the cruise control worked perfectly!

Cruise control not working. This is one of the easiest fixes you can do to your car. I have a 2009 Chevy Suburban. I bought product ACDelco D1539J. I was getting contracting information from different places as to the correct product number for my car. Amazon verification got it right. Took me 10 minutes to install. Once you remove the screw, push the clip that is attached to the old device up with a screwdriver, this will allow you to pull it out without any hassle..

Quick fix for intermittent cruise control engagement
Relatively easy install provided a quick fix for intermittent cruise control operation in 2009 Suburban. Sometimes the cruise control would engage, sometimes it wouldn't... sometimes a little sideways kick to the brake pedal would help the cruise control engage and sometimes it wouldn't. Replaced this switch and now the cruise control works reliably. There's a 10mm (?) bolt that holds the switch to the brake arm along with a clip that fits over the bolt... the clip is a little tricky to figure out how to get it off and reinstall. Otherwise replacement of the switch is easy.

Correct Part -- Fixed My Cruise Control -- Prompt Shipping
I recently purchased a 2008 GMC Yukon SLT. Driving home from the dealer, I noticed much to my dismay, that the cruise control was not working. The indicator light on the steering wheel came on when I turned on the cruise, but the "set" button was not working. Did a bit of research on the 'net that pointed me to this part. Watched some videos on the installation and decided to take the plunge into DIY world (over my wife's objections!). The part arrived in an AC/Delco sealed plastic bag shipped in a padded envelope. I'm a Prime member and the part came in two days--I was impressed. There is some discussion about this part being improperly designed and a GMC Technical Service Bulletin with a new part number. To the best of my knowledge, this part is the updated part. My part was all black plastic, not the white shown in the picture--but the part number was as ordered. The installation was simple (except when I dropped the bolt behind and underneath the floor carpet--but that was my fault. Installation time should be less than 15 minutes. Took the vehicle on a test drive right after installation. On first press the cruise did not work, but on second press, it did start working. Now has been working correctly for 2 days. I'm satisfied that this is the solution to my cruise control not working--interesting the part name has no relation to the cruise control, but it is fixed! Prompt shipping was a nice surprise.

Very good transaction, the switch arrived as promised
Very good transaction, the switch arrived as promised. The cost was very reasonable and the part works great. I tested it out and no interference with my cruise control. I have a trailer brake control mounted in my truck so until I got this part I would eye it to see if is was red then use my foot to lightly tap my brake until it went out, when it did I would use my cruise control. A malfunctioning break switch is frustrating and dangerous a road hazard in its self. Great product, & service. Update: My truck is a gmc Sierra 3/4 ton . The switch does not come with a bolt or the metal bracket. You will have to use the old ones from the old switch which should not be any problem. I mention this because some people may take the old switch off early like me. I saved everything to be on the safe side.

I had problems with my 2009 Chevy Suburban when the anti-lock and traction control lights came on occasionally, I found a video on YouTube suggestion that it could be the brake control switch. Simple to install and the problem has gone away.

Excellent and inexpensive, but you need to learn how to get the old one off
This brake switch is an incredible value for an AC Delco product that works perfectly on GM trucks. One of the most common reasons for cruise control failure on many GM trucks and SUVs is this little switch, which makes the cruise control "think" that you have depressed the brake pedal, thereby cutting out cruise control. An OBD diagnostic tool will report a high voltage in the brake switch circuit which is the sign of the defective original switch. Do not attempt this replacement without watching 3 or 4 different YouTube videos on the process, because it is completely counter-intuitive, even if you think you are experienced. And it really helps to be agile to get your head under the dash.

Fixed my problem!
My cruise control would stop randomly, then eventually stopped working. I took my truck in for an oil change and had them check to see what was wrong. He told it was the brake switch. Dealership's estimate was $90 for parts and labor. I did a little research on Amazon and thought I'd give this a try. Install was a little tricky because it's in a pretty tight space for a man that's 6ft tall and 200lbs. It's connected to the brake pedal, and you have to lay in the floorboard to get to it. It only took about a half-hour to remove the old switch and replace it with the new one. Saved me over $70, so I was very pleased.
