Square Trades After Market Service Wows!
Their service simply wows! 4 years go this month I ordered a Maytag front load washer/dryer combo from an Etailer that offered an extended warranty plan for 3 yrs total from Square Trade. I was cautious because I had heard that these can be extra add-on sales ploys for service that might not pan out so I called up STrade and asked about their policies.... specifically: would they cover a repair to an island 2 hrs from the nearest mainland town because ferry line up hassels especially in peak summer would add lots of extra service hours. A night mare would be the washer going down in peak summer with a house full of guests of coming and going. STrade was very accomodating to my questions and I felt comfortable they would/ could service the washer if it went down so I purchased an extended 3yr total warranty for $49.99 for the $799 Maytag washer in Sept 2009. Fast forward: near the end of the warranty period last summer July 2012, I called in a service request as the washer flashed a bunch of error codes and stopped working. ST made note of the problem and would either locate a service repair or we could if it could speed up a repair. Well we never called STrade back because the washer somehow started functioning again and all was fine untill this summer 2013 when the same situation happened several times over to the point were the appliance just stopped running. I call STrade back not remembering that my warranty actually expired last Sept. I just thought..."drats!" as STrade confirmed that the extended warranty coverage had expired Sept 2012. The service operator was very polite and forwarded me to a supervisor because of my service call July 2012. The supervisor ,Michael W., was very understanding of my situation > peak busy summer with lots of visiting guests and no easy way to fix my washer asap being on an island. What he did next has made me a die hard Square Trade believer and cheerleader...he said because the repair service request was never resolved last year that Square Trade would still honor the warranty and cover the washer repair even though the warranty expired Sept 2012. Then he sent me follow up instructions on how to get my washer serviced. I was Amazed! In the end it was determined that the electric control board parts for the washer were the problem needing to be replaced. Due to island travel time and the hi-replacement part costs, Square Trade mgt reviewed the service repair info & authorized the washer be replaced for up to the $799 I originally paid for the unit. They promptly processed my claim info and sent me a check for $799 and an extra $40 for the inconviennce. I was Wowed! I was expecting ...''sorry your out of luck''...or at best STrade haggling to only cover a fraction of an authorized tech repair bill. However, none of this occured, Square Trade's customer service just exceeded my expectation in everyway- plain and simple! I realize my situation is unusual which is why I was so worried but the folks at Square trade were simply great! While I now have to find a replacement and wash clothes elsewhere untill then, at least I know a replacement washer won't cost me another $800 and yes I'll buy another Square Trade warranty without any doubt. After this unsually great customer service experience I did a bit more reading about STrade and learned that their mission is to offer "zero hassle" excellent customer service, and that was exactly what I got. I have used Square Trade for several years for everything for my family from HD TV's to cameras, computers to refrigerators and small appliances. They are less expensive than any other warranty purchased directly from a manufacturer or other retailer. But Square Trade service is absolutely first-rate. I have had to file several claims, a process that is easy and painless on line or with their professional and courteous representatives over the phone. The ability to e-mail or fax them product receipts means no fishing for receipts for something you bought a couple of years ago. It is easy to manage all your warranties in one place on their web site. And they absolutely honor their warranties. Nobody likes a product to go bad. But when one does, Square Trade makes the warranty service as inexpensive and painless as possible. I recommend them to all my friends and family without hesitation.

Awesome protection
I bought a gas dryer about 2 years ago, and purchased the Squaretrade warranty for it for cheap. All of a sudden from last week, I noticed that the clothes had a strange smell like fried oil.. it was not a burnt smell so to speak, but more like being in a fast food kitchen all day. Kids were really upset that their clothes came out of the dryer stinking, not fresh at all. I noticed that inside the dryer, one of the vents had a dark patch like it was burnt, however there was no burnt smell in the clothes. I had made a few calls to see how much a serviceman would charge for just looking and determining the issue, but man are they expensive - $60-$90 range. and that didn't include parts and labor! So I called up SquareTrade, stated the situation and asked them what my options were. The customer service person asked a few questions upon which I emailed her the picture of the dryer inside. She immediately said it's gone and they will refund me in full. The process itself was so simple and quick. Everything was submitted and processed within the hour. If you have the refund done as a check, it takes 7-10 business days, however if you do amazon form of payment you get 5% payout extra and in 2-3 days. Awesome experience, I would definitely recommend them.

Bought the warranty for a saw i purchased last year. After my saw died with an electrical failure I contacted Square Trade. Though frustrating that their web site had no drop downs related to my product an email and phone call got the process started. The rep reassured me she would handle the claim and left me contact info. Having been through warranty hassles before I was extremely skeptical this would go smoothly and would be for a bit of fight. I explained the problem to the rep, after some normal questions from her she determined the saw was beyond repair and she would email me an affidavit. It was just as she said, I filled it out signed, scanned and returned to her via email. 2 days later I got an email at everything was approved and the warranty value of the saw would be sent to me, 2 options, PayPal or check. Chose PayPal and it was there with-in 24 hours. Just plain old awesome and good business. I have had warranty problems with everything from consumer products to vehicles and always wind up fighting with them to get the problem covered. NOT WITH SQUARE TRADE!!!! They proved there are companies with a heart and good conscious and stood behind their agreement. I will use them every time I buy something that needs a warranty coverage. When you spend the amount of money on something and buy a warranty, go through Square Trade. They stand behind what they advertise and follow through on their commitments. Because of their good business ethic, whenever I purchase a large ticket item that should be covered by a warranty, or extended warranty you can bet I will go to them. Hopefully I'm only spending money for peace of mind but will have a true peace of mind because they do what they say!!!

The BEST warranty you can buy PERIOD.
I have purchased many Square Trade warranties as I buy all the time on the internet. I feel its worth the paltry price charged to get the peace of mind to have my item replaced or money refunded when the product stops working (usually a week after the manufacturer's warranty expires). I have had some of my items fail and was relieved to know they were covered and Square Trade couldn't be easier! They keep all your receipts stored so you don't have to dig and all of the warranties are in one place. File a claim and soon you'll have your full refund, it really is that simple. Typically the item you covered is now a few years old and not quite the cutting edge (so perhaps its cheaper). If you liked it- buy another one with the refund and pocket the difference (use a few bucks to cover the new one) and its a win. This is actually happened a couple times to me so I am a huge fan. All companies should use them as a "way it should be" example.

Square warranty claim for my refrigirator
I bought square trade warranty two years back for my brand new refrigirator. Last week the refrigirator stooped working, when I called square trade rep., I was given two options, first one was to hire one locally and repair it and get reimbursed later, the other one was to wait for the service person that square trade deals with which could take up to 3 days. I opted first one since I need to get it repaired quickly. The repair man told me that he needs to replace fan and few sensors and it's not available locally. After the repair was done I submitted the invoice and square trade promptly approved all of the charges without any question, they also reimbursed for food spoilage though I didn't have receipt for all items but sent only picture of what is inside the refrigirator. No hassle and prompt, I definitely recommend square trade for their outstanding service.

Square Trade Protection Plan
I've been purchasing Square Trade warranties the last several years for my appliances, and consumer electronics. Although I am disappointed when my purchased item fails, Square Trade claims are easy to file, and resolved so quickly. I haven't had that same experience trying to file a claim with in store warranties. I no longer buy warranties through stores because their process is lengthy and they don't offer any assistance in returning any item. Square Trade is great, the customer service is superb whether online or on the phone. Their warranties are also better priced that the in-store products.

So simple!
I highly recommend SquareTrade. Prior to learning of SquareTrade (a few years ago), I purchased a repair warranty from a large, national big-box store. Needlesstosay, when I called to report a problem with my TV, they sent a repairman out to inform me that my TV was unrepairable because it was "outdated" now. Since that happened, I've had nothing, but a SquareTrade warranty on every piece of electronic equipment that I own (my TV, cellphones, digital cameras, electric fireplace, etc). I've received nothing, but fast, prompt repair on my items (some of which required me to ship the item to SquareTrade via a UPS label, which SquareTrade paid for and emailed to me), or I've received an Amazon giftcard for the full replacement value, or a paper check in the mail! They are top-notch! I cannot say ANYTHING bad about them! I highly recommend them!

What a great company. I had read a good review about SquareTrade and bought 3-yr warranties for some Thermador appliances I was acquiring for a kitchen remodel. Almost 3 years had gone by and my telescoping vent stopped working. I remembered the warranty and only had 3 more months left on it. After completing the online form and contacting SquareTrade to describe the problem, they completed their review and gave me a full refund of the purchase price toward a replacement. They even sent me a copy of the original warranty so I would not have to search for it! I highly recommend them and plan to use them for any future appliance purchases I make. I wish I would have learned about them earlier. You definitely need the SquareTrade warranty if you are making major purchases at online auction sites.
