Higher Quality Brand Name Rum Cake.

I purchased 2 flavors of Tortuga Rum cake in the same order, this one and Key Lime. By far this one was the better of the two. The banana and rum combination works very well together with neither flavor over powering the other. I found myself coming back for more and more pieces. I also was very impressed with the quality of the vacuum sealed packaging, which was a step up from other cakes I have ordered. I am going to order more Rum cakes, this and another flavor. The only drawback that I can inject would be that I can see how others feel these cakes should have had a little more rum to it, but at the same time it would also needs a little more banana to rebalance it. But at the same time you have to factor in that this is a brand name rum cake and not those original Caribbean Restaurant rum cakes. You want one of those then I suggest you fly down to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico to get the Original Restaurant Rum cake. If you have not made up your mind which flavor to start off with, I think you really cannot go wrong with this one.

Bananas for Tortuga!

My family and I received a Tortuga chocolate rum cake as a gift several months ago, and it was delicious. Very rich, great texture, a real treat. After that good experience, I sent my brother a banana rum cake for Christmas. He said it was amazing and he and his family and friends really enjoyed it. SO... I just bought one for myself. Have also tried the regular golden rum cake and was delighted with it, as well. Tortuga rum cakes make very nice gifts for any occasion.

Coffee rum cake is SOGGY!

Loved this cake (banana)...moist ...delicious...very flavorful!Originally I ordered the banana cake...it was awesome as my original review indicated. That being the case I was excited to order two additional cakes...the chocolate and the coffee rum cake. The chocolate cake was good as well, however the coffee rum cake is soggy...feels gross in my mouth...I'll be trashing it.

So delicious! I order these to indulge myself every so often! Very tasty..perfectly soaked...not at all dry...yummy!! I recommend this banana rum cake to anyone that loves all things banana..and cake..and rum :D

BANANA FLAVOR Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cake

Because of such positive reviews, I made a first purchase of 3 flavors of the smaller size cakes (key lime, chocolate, and original) as an Easter basket addition for my daughter's family last year. She reported them as very tasty so this year, 2013, I purchased the large size in the banana flavor for my husband and myself. I have to say for a store bought cake this one takes the cake, TRULY DELICIOUS. THE FLAVOR IS LOVELY, not overpowered by the Rum but gently wafting the rum's way through your nostrils and taste buds as you eat. My favorite thing, it isn't encumbered by icings. If you must dress it up, a light dusting of powdered sugar will do it. It's my kind of cake. Needs no refrigeration, so remains the PERFECT temp for eating, ANYTIME.

worth tasting

Very good. one of the best Tortugas. I am trying them all. Not a lot of rum flavor and maybe a little too sweet and irresistible but I'm not complaining.
