I bought the DSi for my 9-year-old grandson. He'd been wanting a handheld game system, and a camera, so I figured that both in one was a great thing. The boy is in love! He adores this thing and takes really good care of it. He plays on and off, totaling a couple of hours a day, and also takes it on car trips or when his parents go to visit people who don't have kids. It's really good for keeping him occupied and preventing boredom. The camera works well and he enjoys playing with the various lenses, which are easy for him to use. We have used the internet connection once or twice, but he's not much into that yet. Overall, while this is a slightly expensive toy for a smaller child, I feel that it was money well-spent. My grandson enjoys this immensely, the games seem to run from $15 to $35 (sometimes slightly less or more, depending on where you work) which means we can afford to buy the for him and it won't be too hard for him to earn game money himself. Right now, he's had the DSi for a month and has two games, one of which is educational and which he enjoys as much as he does the Mario game. I did buy the starter kit for this system, and that really made a difference; he had everything he needed to get started right away!

Could not be happier .it was marked used in good condition.. and if I was the person that was checking the system out I would have put very good condition or like-new because everything is here even the extra stylist every manual even all three little quick starter manuals in every single language... no cosmetic damages at all on the system itself everything came wrapped in its original plastic ..it's like brand-new doesn't have an SD card but I don't think even if you bought this brand new it would come with an SD card .... I usually buy things used on Amazon and I haven't had a bad experience yet but I figured if something doesn't work out that they have the a-to-z guarantee you can always return it so it doesn't hurt to try this route first before you go and buy one of these brand-new especially if you're buying this for a kid even if this thing came with scratches on it I would have been fine with it because my kids are going to end up scratching it up anyway.. and for the price that I paid for it I wasn't expecting very much but this made my day today ... 🎄🎁😁

I was debating getting a new handheld gaming system. My kids both have PSP's but I don't like them very much. I like something more simple to control (hey, I'm 36). I don't want to have to figure out all the little buttons, especially on something this small. The DS has the stylus/touch screen, so that is what initially drew me. I did my research trying to choose between an iTouch and a DSLite. Naturally, the iTouch can do much more, but hey, it's also much pricier. If money were no object, I'd probably have gotten the iTouch. Anyway, so it was between the DSi and the DSLite. I scoured the net trying to get everyone's opinion. I don't already have a DSLite, so I was starting fresh. Many people complained that the 2 are too similar, not to bother upgrading, and that may be so. But if you, like me, don't have either, go ahead and get the DSi. I love being able to browse the net (although it is limited), check my email on the go, take pics, and those were big issues for me. You're not going to be giving up your puter in favor of surfing with the DSi, it's much slower & aggravating to navigate around the page when compared to a puter, but it's still really good when faced with nothing. I also really like the game selections of the DS. There aren't many downloadable DSiWare games, yet, but you can use all the DS games on the DSi. I'm a "mature" player. I don't want shoot 'em & kill 'em games. I don't want typical teen type games. I want puzzle style, Diner Dash type, and for that type of gaming, the DSi can't be beat. It comes downloaded with a calendar function, which is nice for scheduling/planner use. I carry this around in my purse everywhere. I've had it for almost a month and I am glad I chose this one!

Received this item timely, from seller. Got it for my 12 year old daughter who is very particular. Bought it used, and it works perfectly, all features work perfectly, hardly had a scratch. She anyway covered it with a care bears case but in any case I dont feel I compromised by not getting it new. Also as far as the dsi goes, Shes coming from having a ds lite. This has a camera, and some additional features she absolutely loves. You can play around with the photos you take and alter the peoples faces and make them look hilarious!! Real teenage fun. I was laughing to see some of the distorted faces shes made of her own face, like blowing up her cheeks. I didnt look into it, but she tells me she and her friends love the parrot feature that enables doing mimicking sounds etc. She loves it and shes hard to please with gifts ans shes particular and a mature 12 yr old, so go for it.Good upgrade from ds lite although theres 3ds that overtook this. But im really thrilled with this product.

Having bought my DSI 2 years ago, it's still going strong. I accidently dropped it on the linoleum floor in the bathroom and nothing was damaged. Nintendo did a great job of making the DSI durable. There's so many great games to choose from whether you like action, puzzle, rpg's, retro games, etc. The camera is also a fun feature that you'll enjoy. It's also possible to connect to the internet, although I haven't been able to connect it despite numerous attempts. I know there's also the DSI XL, and the 3DS, these newer consoles don't interest me a whole lot, The DSI that I own is just fine with me. All in all, a nice little handheld system that is very affordable and durable, check out Amazon and buy one.

I am not gonna get into all of the technical details about this system because many reviews here already did. I am just gonna go through my experience with it. I previously had a Nintendo DS Lite but sold it to get this. Was it worth it? Yup. My main reason for upgrading was for the bigger screen. It might not seem like much of difference but to me it was. I do see some things in games better with the bigger screens, especially small objects. I also noticed that the sound quality on the dsi is much better. It has an SD card slot too, which I have yet to use, so that you can load music onto your dsi. In my opinion, I will leave the music playing to my ipod touch. the buttons feel more sturdy on the dsi. when you press them, you hear a nice click, unlike on the ds lite. I also really like the new user interface that the dsi has. it looks more streamlined, however I think the extras, like the whole picture editing thing, are pretty stupid. they are fun for like 5 minutes when you first get your system but then they quickly get old and boring. I never use the two cameras on the dsi. I have not tried the internet connection because I will probably never need that. the one thing that I like better on the ds lite was the glossy finish on the top. the top of the dsi looks really boring and i feel it is in desperate need of a skin. It is not really a must to upgrade from a ds lite but the screen size difference is what sold me. if you're fine with the ds lite's screens, then just keep that. the lack of a gba slot is no problem for me because I just stick to ds games. I haven't really noticed much of a difference in battery life either. the thing still seems to stay charged forever. i love my dsi and i think you will love it if you got one too. as for the dsi vs the dsi xl. if you are looking for portability, stick with the dsi.

Overall, I really like the DSi and think it is a huge improvement over the DS & DS Lite, however, I wish they had released the device with more games and applications that take into account the new camera system. We also own a DS Lite and my kids are playing with the new version more than they ever did with the older version. First, the device feels great to hold. I bought the black version and the brushed surface gives the DSi a textured feel that is very comfortable to hold and makes you feel confident you won't drop it. Setup could not have been easier. The DSi connected with my wireless network on the first try, upgraded the software with no problems, and then downloaded the Opera browser and the WarioWare Snapped game immediately. No problems using my 1 GB SD card (I will be installing a larger SD card soon).

This product was a real asset to us when traveling with my grandchildren. They had ear phones and played nearly every car trip. They have since gotten older and don't use it as much, but I get it out and still play, and it gets them into playing all over again. It is a very good product and has stood up well in the hands of a 4 year old and a 6 year old, who are several years older now and still enjoy it. It is still working and does very well. If you are looking for a fun game you can play with them, this is it. The game arrived as promised and was well packed and exactly what I wanted.

Shipped the same day I bought it and came quickly (3 days?) and it works PERFECT! Came with a game, SD card and a DSi to USB charger. (Which was a happy surprise!) The bottom screen is a bit scratched up, but that's honestly going to happen with a used system, so it's not a complaint. It still works and I can see it just fine. Valhalla's Retro Gaming World was the seller I believe. 10/10 will buy from seller again. Thank you!

Recieved game early on a Saturday as a gift for a very special 10 year old. DSi looks new and is in excellent condition. I am more excited about it then I think my nephew will be. Had husband to test it out and it works great. Thanks for making my nephew's day 100% awesome.
