I have very dry skin and have recently have started wearing full face makeup. Because I'm dry, I do not want to wash multiple times to remove the makeup. This gets most of the makeup in the first cleanse and the rest comes off when I tone. If I don't wear makeup, I occasionally use this as a "deep cleansing treatment" since I stay away from masks and things that would really strip my skin. I've tried lower cost dupes and this wins hands down. Plus, I use this to clean my makeup brushes and beauty sponges. There is a youtube video on how and why you can use this to clean those items. Basically, this is a must have.

I read some reviews after already purchasing the product that made me panic. I had heard so much and was really anticipating trying this cleanser. The one I received was not a fake. I have never seen a cleanser like this before. I even used it on my makeup brush which has never been the same color since first use and BOOM! Just like new. No oily residue and my already oily skin seems to love it as well. I will 100% be buying this product again and again. My skin feels so clean and not striped at all after washing. #MelaninPoppin'

This stuff is magic. It smells like really high grade olive oil. Perhaps it is really high grade olive oil, but that’s no problem. Here’s the thing, oil is needed to break down oil. And that sudsy, foaming soap is drying and stripping. This is the real deal. It leaves my skin clean, but not dry. And you’d think you’d be left with a greasy mess. No way, Jose. It has something in it that helps it come off with water. I don’t know what that is, I’m no chemist, but it works. I feel like Marc Antony being washed in Rome. This is good stuff. Tommy Ton, a well-known men’s fashion photographer, posted a pic of it on his Instagram. The man travels around the world and gets the inside scoop on how beautiful people stay so beautiful. That’s how I found it. Lucky me. Let’s remember that we are all beautiful tho.

I have been using DHC Cleansing Oil for more than 2 years now and absolutely LOVE it! One of the reasons I love this cleansing oil is that I no longer need any eye make up remover. I use 1 pump of this oil and spread it all over my face to include across my eye lids and lashes. Then I rinse with warm water and towel dry. It removes every bit of make up without exception and I don't even need a toner or follow up. Just to test it out I have used a toner afterwards to see if I have any dirt or make up residue left and there is NOTHING remaining. I have acne prone skin, cystic acne to be exact, and this product has helped my skin tremendously. I rarely ever get a cyst and when I do it is typically hormonal. I'm a product junkie and usually don't stick with a product for long before I start looking for the next best thing. However, once I landed on this product I stayed. I really don't want to try anything else as this is my holy grail of face cleansers. The price point is great and at 47 years old I feel like I have tried just about everything out there. I just hate that I didn't find this product even sooner. Love it!

This winter I noticed my face was getting flaky around my nose and eyebrows. I read a review of this product and decided to give it a try. It works great. I use it according to the directions with one exception. They say to use 2-3 pumps of the oil. This is way too much for me. Maybe I have a small face but I use about 1/2 a pump and it's enough to do my face and neck. I got instant results with this product. No more flaking skin. I use it a few times a week. It feels luxurious and has a subtle scent. I will buy it again.

I had been looking for an emulsifying oil cleanser, as they remove makeup very well. I tried a drugstore-bought one and it smelled rancid, even though I liked how it removed makeup. I found this on Youtube by someone demonstrating taking off heavy makeup and it seemed like what I was looking for, so I tried it. It does the job beautifully and without irritation. I am very sensitive to fragrance, and while the DHC oil doesn't contain fragrance, it lists rosemary oil as a minor ingredient. I took the chance anyway, and this ingredient doesn't irritate me and I don't smell it either. The instructions say to use 2-3 pumps of oil on a dry face. But I use about a pump and half with a couple drops of water, just to start emulsification of the oil for a more comfortable, creamy consistency to rub all over my face and eye area. All eyeliner and mascara comes off - I just rub very lightly until it is all emulsified, then rinse. It takes almost 100% of eye makeup off this way. I then go over my eyes with a wet makeup removal cloth to take off any last trace of eye makeup.

****Update2**** I originally had this at 5 Stars. Then I received a fake one, so I lowered it to 1 Star. However I just received a refund for the fake oil I received. I didn’t even request a refund! So, I’ve raised my rating back to 5 Stars because I really do love this oil, and it deserves 5 Stars. ****Update**** I’ve been using this since August 2017. It is now June 2018. I’ve bought 6 bottles of this. The last bottle looked different. The words were in Japanese and the color was lighter. I dismissed it and thought, “this must be the version sold in Japan.” It isn’t. It’s fake. It smells bad and stings my eyes. I am VERY upset that I received a knockoff. This stuff is not cheap. BEWARE. I added photos of the good one and the bad one. The good one is a deeper yellow, and has English writing. This really is my FAVORITE facial cleanser when I get the actual product. ****original review below**** This is my favorite makeup remover AND cleanser. It's extremely gentle, yet highly effective. I was searching for a cheaper oil cleanser to replace my Burt's Bees oil cleanser. DHC is my new replacement, and it's even better than Burt's. The Burt's Bees cleanser is great, but it's expensive per oz. The price issue is compounded by the dispensing pump. It squirts out too much oil too quickly, so waste happens. So I tried Palmer's Cocoa Butter oil cleanser. It was thicker, but it left an oily residue on my face. I had to re-wash my face with a classic cleanser to remove the residue. Which led me to DHC. It's similar to Burt's Bees in that when water is added during the rinsing step, it emulsifies and rinses off completely. It's a one step cleanser. In another review it talked about DHC turning milky when it is rinsed off with water, and I found this to be true as well. I highly recommend this oil cleanser. It fully removes my longwear foundation and waterproof mascara without leaving an oily residue.

Other reviews had me concerned that I might receive an impostor product, but this is the real thing! One little pump is plenty to remove 99.9% of stubborn makeup. I used to need makeup remover wipes to get rid of the final traces of mascara under my eyes, but now that I double-cleanse with this oil as the first step, I no longer need them (which is great because those things are terrible for the environment). No residue, no clogging my pores. It removes everything without removing my eyelashes! Good stuff.

I swear this is the best makeup remover out there. I first started using it when I was working in Japan. Now I can't live without it (in addition to the face soap) I have extremely sensitive skin, even brands like Estée Lauder makes my face red sometimes. So I'm really careful when picking makeup removers as some of them can make my eyes burn. This one is amazing. Takes off all my waterproof makeup easily. Isn't too oily. If you just use it and rinse it off, there's not really a need to wash your face again with another cleanser. ***worth to note*** DO NOT USE WITH WET HANDS. It doesn't work if your hands or face are wet. ONLY USE WITH DRY HANDS AND FACE. I love DHC :)

Many years ago I bought this product from the printed DHC catalog. I used a number of their products, including the olive oil moisturizer, but then I forgot all about them as I looked for more and more basic kinds of skincare. Up until about 6 months ago I was doing the most minimal skincare imaginable. Barely any makeup at all. Mother Dirt all the way. Well, look I'm 53 and very fair, and sun damage has caught up with me, so I embarked on a frenzy of buying foundations, SPF, Retinol, Retin A, Ceramidin creams, Dr. Jart, Physiogels, Tarte, IT, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury and a bunch of stuff from Lancome and Clinique. Then, somehow I heard about the Korean 10 Step skincare method, and ding, ding, ding... I remembered this oil that I used to adore. My skin feels soft after washing with this. I love it. I am glad I rediscovered it. Takes off everything, including Lancome's Monsieur Big Mascara.
