Many exercises to develop your typing skills

Over the course of many years I have drifted away from typing correctly. I learned to type in the 6th grade on a manual typewritter and had been quite good. But over the years I didn't use the skill and when I did, I developed many bad habits and I needed to correct them, this software helped me to do that. Since I already knew where the keys were on the keyboard what I really needed was to relearn what fingers were responsible for hitting each and every key. Typing tutor quickly taught me the correct keystrokes and allowed me to jump in at a level that I am comfortable with, now the only thing left for me to do is to improve on my speed. 30 to 20 mintues nightly help me to improve. This purchase was well worth the $20 that I spent and I would recommend this to others even though I haven't used any other typing software titles.

Great program

It's the best typing program I've ever bought, the only downside is that it did not authenticate itself under my Windows 7 64bit operating system. After reading the reviews here on Amazon I suspected I'd have this problem, but the fix was easy. I just went to their website and explained the problem to Customer Service. I printed and scanned my Amazon receipt and sent it to them via e-mail. They sent me an unlocked copy and I was using the program within a week, - It was worth the wait. Five stars goes to Individual Software's Customer Service for a prompt and easy resolution

Effective, Better Then Free On-line Typing Programs I've Seen

I'm going to preface this by saying that my daughter and I have two different ratings for this product. She currently thinks it's a four star product, I say 5. We purchased this 3 years ago, when our daughter was 7. If you'd have asked her at that time, she would have said 1 star. She found it frustrating, wouldn't try the games so much, and didn't want to deal with it. And because I was dealing with some pretty intense stuff at the time, I figured I'd just wait until, oh, I don't know, she found something she really wanted to do that needed typing and say "here you go, have at it!" So this time around it's going much better. She says she doesn't like all of the music, she thinks some of it's annoying and that the lessons and games could be more interesting. And yet, when I tried to get my computer back to write this review, she kept playing the games, even after I told her to get off. So, that tells me they're a bit more interesting then a 10 year old should want to admit to her mother. My perspective is that this is a better suite of lessons and games then I've seen available for free instruction on-line, and it was worth the price. It has run on two different computers with different versions of Windows (we're currently running windows 10 and it works fine with that also), and I feel like it's definitely a serious step up from how I had to learn typing back when I was in high school. Back when we actually had to use fossils called type writers. I think the take home message from this is that this is an effective bit of software, and will totally get the job done. How your child receives it, if you are planning on using it with a kiddo, may depend on their age and enthusiasm level for learning how to type. I don't see anything wrong with it and would have found it infinitely preferable to the manner in which I learned typing back in high school.

SO FAR A TRULY AWESOME TYPING PROGRAM

TYPING INSTRUCTOR PLANTINUM is truly an awesome typing program that can really, really help out in developing typing skills. I own a couple of earlier versions of this program from the late 90s but they're not as challengeing as this version and yes this is definitely the best and most well developed typing program to ever exist. I hope that another version of this program is made in the near future. The only thing that I point out that can be improved is for a game in the ARCADE SECTION. TOMB TYPER-go on the ultimate quest for the world's most famous treasure where you complete levels by avoiding traps, finding special weapons to help you to combat a variety of monsters that you come across as well as battling a giant monster boss at the end of each level, and then finally completing your quest for the world's most famous treasure. Overall this is truly one of the best typing programs ever and I hope another version of this program is made in the near future along with my concept in the middle. Overall this typing program truly one of the very best.

Great 10 key Practice

I tried the other software programs and I did not find 10 key lessons (one had a numeric game only - no lessons that I found) . This program has 10 key numeric lessons with all the keys. The games are fun and you set your level. This is great for beginners because if you set your level at 5 wpm, then you get plenty practice at the game and it's still fun. The magazine articles are very interesting and enjoyable. You can choose which lesson you want to work on. You don't have to start at the beginning. This is great for someone who knows some typing and wants to jump ahead new keys. I am over 40 and this program is really good.

A Homeschool Necessity

As homeschoolers, this software is invaluable. The lessons are easy to follow along, and we are able to set a WPM value for each user. My sons all enjoy the games, which help them learn without the complaints we normally get. My oldest son has already shown progress and is much better at keeping his hands in the proper location. Even my five year old is benefiting from this typing software!

Excellent typing tutor!

I bought this program for my wife, as I've been encouraging her to learn to touch-type for some time now. To my great delight she took to it immediately, and her typing has come a long way in the short time she has been using this program. I also wanted to improve my own 10-key skills as I do a lot of data entry in my job, and I was very pleased to find that this software includes a section devoted to this. I have also been able to greatly improve my 10-skills with these lessons and exercises too. This software can be installed on multiple computers. I have no reservations in recommending it to anyone wishing to gain or improve their typing skills. There is no need to consider any other typing program, as this one does it all, and it is very simple and intuitive to use.

Satisfied Customer

Very pleased with this software . This is the second software I bought from the same manufacturer. My daughter who is 14 learned using Typing instructor and she can type 80 words per minute. Very good customer service. I lost my CD sleeve where the activation code was and I just went online and file it under tech support and got a new activation code in minutes.

I took an On-line class at a community college, learned the basics so I wanted to continue learnig. So I bought thsi device so can practice more often and at my own pace. Aslo the beats the cost of just the program I purchased for the on-line class. Also access to the program expires three month after completion of the course.
