This is the only product that works on my dry eyes at night. It almost causes a "white out" to my vision when applied, but that's okay because I only apply it when going to bed. I heat is in a cup of warm water for 30 seconds prior to application so that it will flow more like a liquid. Otherwise it stays as a viscous glob in your eyes. Wash it out with plenty of hot water in the morning shower. Low price is the reason I purchased from Pharmapacks. Local stores get much more money for the identical product.
Ophthalmologist recommended this brand and insisted that my husband not use any other brand for his dry eyes. Of course, his case may be different from someone else’s. But since beginning to use this gel along with the daily drops, his eyesight has definitely improved.
I, unfortunately, injured my cornea twice (once by my 60 pounds dog and once when I sliced it while putting a hat on). Well, guess what? Permanent dry eye issue came along with the second injury. My second ophthalmologist recommended me to use muro 128 followed by systane at night time to prevent any more corneal abrasions. Maybe because my cornea suffered such a repeated trauma in two years that systane by itself is not enough to lubricate my cornea at night. Along came muro 128. I definitely feel a huge difference when I no longer suffer from corneal abrasions anymore.
These were suggested by my opthamologist after I had a corneal tear (from waking in the middle of the night and arguing with a bedsheet, no less. Silly and embarrassing, but there you have it.) I'm allergic to pretty much every eye product on the market - except this and one homeopathic. (And yes, I know the "research" says homeopathic eye drops do nothing, but don't try telling my dry eyes that. I have no scratches and no corneal issues, despite years of dry eyes. I put it down to the drops I use.) I had a bad allergy attack a few weeks ago and both eyes turned bright red, itchy, swollen. I finally thought about using some Muro 128 on them; worked like a charm, and my eyes were cleared up in two days. High recommend for these.
I have map-dot-fingerprint corneal dystrophy; I started using Muro 128 for my recurrent corneal erosions, on my ophthalmologist's advice. It helped immensely. I'd been trying regular nighttime ointments without the sodium chloride, and my erosions were continuing to happen. Once I started using this, they stopped. I've been using it for years now with no recurrences. When I don't use it, my eyes feel dry when I wake up, so I've simply kept using it (with my doctor's approval). It doesn't sting when I put it in (unlike the drops). You really can't use this during the day -- it blurs vision considerably for a while, and is quite goopy -- but I use it every night without fail.
I've been using this for several months now to prevent corneal erosions caused by dry eye. I find it much easier to apply in the right dosage if I hold the tube in my hand for a couple of minutes. The heat from my hand softens it sufficiently so that I can easily squeeze a drop into each eye while lying in bed. This method also helps to prevent the tip from becoming contaminated by touching the eye area itself.
I have had several corneal abrasions and tears including one that took about 85% of the cornea. Anyone who deals with this kind of thing knows how painful and irritating it can be. I have used a number of products to help with caring for my eyes after these happen, and have found this product is by far the best for me. I use it every night and have for about 2 years now, and found the ointment is much easier for me than drops and is easier to apply, and now I won't use anything else. I also only get the twin pack because the price is a much better deal than a single and it's a lot cheaper than at any store in my area.
I can't survive without this product. Well that might be an exaggeration but I do use it daily. I had major surgery on my eyelid that causes my eye to swell and be very dry. I put this ointment in every night. I've tried the generic brands and there is no comparison. This is the best.
I have suffered from severe dry eye syndrome for many years and have found it necessary to use a lubricating ointment at night to keep my eyelids from sticking to my eye and tearing in the morning. I have tried many varieties of ointment, cheap and expensive, and have concluded that Muro 128 is by far the best. Highly recommended, in spite of it's premium price.
I used the generic version from Akorn before which is hard to get right now. I have to say that the Muro 128 works better for me and I don't have to reapply as often. I have very dry eyes and fingerprint map dot dystrophy and this product gives me relief and makes sure my condition does not worsen. Five stars! I
