Some of the best kitchen investments I've made over the last 17 years
I love these. I have some that are 17 years old and still look as good as the brand new ones. They're perfect storage for everything from flours to sugars to oatmeal to rice to dry beans to muesli to barley and other grains... Anything I like to buy in bulk goes in these. I've moved several times since starting to use them so have had them on individual shelves in a large pantry of a big house and stacked tall on top of the frig in a small apartment. Either way they're convenient and keep things fresh. I've stacked them as high as 5 or 6 and they nest in the lid of the one beneath perfectly and remain stable not tippy and the weight does not misshape the lids. When baking, there is no substitute for how much easier it is to scoop out the right amount of an ingredient than from bags. I like to buy Bob's Red Mill products in bulk from Subscribe and Save on Amazon and these containers are perfect for storing them or anything from the bulk aisle at the grocery store. Most recently I've bought some of the smaller ones for things like loose leaf tea. I like that they're square and all the same footprint size which makes them so easy to stack. My latest configuration is in a small apartment kitchen where the only space is above the cabinets. Visitors always comment on how cheerful, colorful, and homey they look - almost a decorative feature [see pictures]. Since they're clear you can see exactly what you have both in terms of ingredient and amount remaining. Since I've started using lots of different flours and grains that are similar in appearance, I printed out clear labels with names. At first they seem a bit expensive, but I've built my collection slowly over the years and they last forever and perform so well that I think they're worth every penny. When my daughter got her first apartment, she asked for some of these the first Christmas because it was so inconvenient to bake out of bags of flour and sugar compared to these that she was used to at home. I've been using these for nearly 20 years now and every one I ever bought is still in excellent condition, nearly indistinguishable from brand new ones - you just can't beat that. I'm obviously a big fan and continue adding to my collection. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Great to use with a Sous Vide Controller.
Works well with my Anova Sous Vide controller. A great size for three or four steaks. This container goes with lid number FG652300WHT. You can see that I use it with the lid's corner cut out in the photo.

Great Sous Vide Vessel
From the pictures I did not think this was going to be as big as I wanted for sous vide but I was pleasantly surprised. So far I have cooked 8 large rib eye steaks at once and 3 racks of spare ribs with no problems. So basically most of your sous vide needs will be handled with this size ( both of those meals were for more than 10 people. This setup works SO much better than the large stock pot I was using. The square shape is much better suited for lining up meat pouches than a round pot.

Absolutely perfect for the Anova Precision Cooker
Perfect for the new Bluetooth/Wifi Anova Precision Cooker. At lowest seating position, the Anova has around 1/2" below it to the bottom of this container which is perfect. I bought the lid with it, Rubbermaid Commercial FG652300WHT right here on Amazon. I used a set of Sharpie along with the Anova clip to draw out a cutting template on the lid edge. THen, I used a set of really sharp scissors to cut right through the plastic lid which created an exact template of the Anova Precision Cooker. The end results look like this container was designed specifically for the Anova. Couldn't be happier.

Perfect container. Now all I need is the food!
Preparing for my first foray into sous vide cooking. This container is the perfect size for the foods I'll be prepaying. I used a box cutter to cut the hole in the lid and I'm using the "Hannah Insulated Shopping Bag" to insulate it to cut down on heat loss. Wish me luck!

These are big and they take up a good amount of space in the fridge
I use these for my artisan bread in five minutes a day dough. I bought the square because they take up less room in the fridge and I sometimes have two going on at the same time. These are big and they take up a good amount of space in the fridge. They are nice and the markings on the side are great!

Perfect for sous vide
Perfect size for most sous vide jobs and the perfect depth for the Anova Precision cooker. The narrow lip makes attaching and detaching the Anova quicker and the mid-mounted handles make dumping large volumes of water easier.

Works great!
After receiving all the parts to my order (the Anova Precision Cooker, the Cellar Made Sous Vide Lid and the 12 qt Rubbermaid Container) the day before Valentine's day, I was excited to use it. I was making Valentine's Day dinner for my husband--lobster, filet mignon and asparagus. I was concerned about getting it all prepared to serve at the same time. Everything was easy to set up. The lid fit perfectly and kept the water from evaporating and was easy to remove without taking off the Anova Cooker. The Rubbermaid container is a great size for everyday cooking of chicken, salmon, steaks, etc. I can't wait to try vegetables as well. I highly recommend all three items. However, I ordered the Anova Cooker for WiFi and when I tried to download the app, I got a message that said it was not currently available in the US store (the Apple App Store) even though the instructions point you there and the Anova website directs you there. I emailed me them on 2/13 and have yet to receive an acknowledgement of my email or a response. You can still use the Cooker without using the app, though the point is to be able to control the Cooker without being there. The Cooker did not have very clear instructions on using it but was not too hard to figure out. I first prepared the live lobsters by putting them in the freezer for an hour (puts them to sleep before plunging them into boiling water). Then I prepared the filet mignons which would cook for an hour. I blanched the asparagus for a quick sauté after the rest of the meal was ready. The lobsters took longer than expected to cook and cut up but I new the sous vide Cooker would hold the water at the proper temp for as long as needed. By the time I removed the beef and seared it in my cast iron skillet, the lobster was cold, so I threw the lobster in a zip lock bag and put it in the still warm sous vide water to warm up. While the beef rested after searing, I threw the asparagus into the same skillet and everything was easy to serve!

A Sous Vide Water Bath Must
Ordered this tub to use for sous vide cooking and it works great. It's strong and well made. It holds up to high temp cooking with ease and cleanup is super simple (dump it out, wipe it out). The optional lid prevents water-loss when cooking longer recipes and the side markings make it simple to fill to your desired level. The crystal-clear plastic makes it easy to see your food sitting inside while it cooks, which while silly, is nice to be able to see. The handles are strong and make picking up hot water easy, without the risk of spilling on the floor or yourself. I'd recommend this container for anyone looking to cook sous vide. It'll hold most everything you're looking to cook (roasts, ribs, etc) and stand up to years of use. Grab one for yourself and make cooking easier. You'll be glad you did.

First impressions when used for Sous Vide
Okay, I know there are over a thousands reviews on line for this, so I’ll try to be brief. Everyone seems to be using, and recommending, this container for use with a Sous Vide, everyone BUT the manufacturer, which is odd. Anyway, I bought it based on the reviews I read. I ASSUME it’s a liability issue. If you use this, and you're careless, and you get hurt, Rubbermaid doesn’t want a lawsuit on their hands. That's just an educated guess, though. It's a good size so it should fit most of your foods. Its sides are not very thick, so the Sous Vide clip can be used. It’s NOT magnetic, of course, so magnetic bottoms, like on the Joule Sous Vide, won’t stick. There is a silicone cover, sold by others, made for use with this container when using. your Sous Vide, to hold the heat in and keep the water from evaporating. And there are thermal wraps, also made by others, that fit this container perfectly to, also, keep the heat in. After all my research, those are the reasons I purchased this. Fingers crossed. FYI, I'll update if I have any issues.
