The Fight is OVER!
Have you ever wasted more packing tape than you used because it stuck to itself and was too difficult to get started? The Fight is OVER! I really like this packing tape! It sticks where it's supposed to - not to itself! This means you don't waste your packing tape - which saves money in the long run. It means that it goes as far as it measures - with no wasted tape. You don't loose time trying to find the tape to get it started again. You just get packing tape that actually works correctly. Thank you Scotch!

Blown away by bad reviews
Tape is smooth and quiet to unwind, which is the main difference between this and other tapes. People having fear it will come unglued seems silly to me but I guess to each his/her own. This has been superlative to me over the years and a godsend compared to the extra sticky stuff of years past. Its the only tape I trust. Its quiet, easy to cut and restart when needed and as long as you run your hand over it to be sure, it adheres fine. No issues and I ship with it a ton. Its tape! Recommended.

worth paying a little more
Scotch's "Sure Start" is the easiest tape to work with that I've tried. It unrolls quietly and smoothly without much force. Most importantly to me, it's the least likely to be frustrating if you lose the edge because you can usually regain it without much difficulty and without it shredding. Losing the edge happens infrequently if you reuse one of those common, red dispensers from Scotch, rather than from other manufacturers. It sticks well and stays stuck on most everything. Sometimes, I've had to use a little extra on manila mailers. I normally get the rolls with the larger diameter center, and only when the price drops because at full price it is much costlier than other types of tape. Be sure you are ordering the "hole" size you want. At about an inch and a half, this is very small, but fits perfectly on the smaller Scotch packing-tape dispensers available (sold with tape on them) in many stores.

Great tape and price, but adhesion isn't quite top-notch
These work well. I ship items on a semi-regular basis and decided to save a tiny bit by purchasing these replacement rolls only vs. buying the tape rolls + dispenser. These pop right into the red Scocth dispenser's I already have w/out issue, and also last a bit longer since these are 900" vs. the 800" rolls you get if you purchase the rolls + dispenser package. The only hangup is that the tape in these rolls doesn't seem to stick as hard as alternatives I've used. Since it hasn't been a problem for most of my shipments I'm not docking a star, but did want to note it just in case anyone requires a very high degree of confidence in their packing tape's adhesion (especially in warm or humid climates that make tape more prone to lifting); if so, I'd likely consider alternatives.

A Superior Product by a Quality Company
I am sincerely biased towards almost any product coming out of the 3M. They produce a plethora of quality, handy products most centered on tapes of one kind or the other. This Packaging Tape is no exception. Best of all is the 6 pack of tape that fits the small core dispenser. That dispenser is top notch too. The tape is easy to transfer from the dispenser to the item being taped and with a slight twist of the hand it cuts off without much if any waste. While other tapes perform o.k., this Scotch is just a huge notch above in quality. We have rolls of tape all around the house in case we need some here or there and that, for us, works perfectly instead of trying to determine 'what did I do with the tape?' or do we have any tape. As you might expect I highly recommend this tape with no exceptions.

Don't bother with any other brand packaging tape!
One can never go wrong with Scotch packaging tape! In the past, I have purchased cheaper brands at local stores just to gauge the difference but the frustration that comes from using cheaper - and usually thinner - tapes just are not worth one's time and frustration! Cheaper tapes are hard to unstick and find the end after cutting it from a previous use. They also usually tear down the middle when us tearing it from the roll. In contrast, Scotch packaging tape doesn't 'bunch up' or tear as you apply it to a package. I send many packages to family and friends every year and can definitely recommend the Scotch brand tape.

Good pack of packaging tape (note that this is the smaller sized one)
Great tape, works just as expected - fits perfectly in the little plastic roller thingy that comes with it in the USPS stores, and works great for packaging shipping boxes. Just wish I didn't have to buy 2 boxes of it (which is the minimum order quantity for this one). But, at least I won't be running out of tape anytime soon, heh. Not sure what all the fuzz is about it being too small in some of the reviews (the size is in the description - 1.5 inch core). If you're looking for the bigger sized one, this is not it.

Quiet, fits small 1” core scotch tape dispenser
Very quiet and smooth when pulling tape off the roll. Haven’t had any issues with tape not sticking to boxes or bags for shipment. Perfectly fits the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Clear Tape, 1" Core, 1.88" x 22.2 Yard, Red Dispenser https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003W0P2SA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rsvWAbXNTD46Z

And they pop easily into the dispensers that come with the single rolls ...
I have smaller hands, so the giant rolls used with the bigger dispensers for taping up moving sized boxes and such just don't work well for me. These smaller rolls work more smoothly with less of that loud ripping sound you get from the larger rollers. And they pop easily into the dispensers that come with the single rolls of this size. Plus it is Scotch, and over the years having tried out other brands of packing tape, I find Scotch still gives the best quality in terms of stickyness, strength, and clarity. Since I use these for my packing labels in my home-based business, I'm partial to good quality.

Perfect for the Blue and White Tape Gun.
I wanted to buy the larger ones. It was my mistake this is for the smaller tape blue and white tape gun. But Luckly I had bought the blue and white smaller tape gun in the past for a past move. These tapes worked perfectly. And they fit perfectly and made packing so so much easier!!!! And to be honest for me it was a lot better and alot easier to use the blue and white tape gun that went with this tape than the larger one i had purchased at home depot. The tape getting stuck over on a metal part on the larger tape gun. But that did not happen with the smaller blue and white tape gun that goes with this tape.
