Keeps up with an 80 degree day
This thing completely changes my RV! It can suck all the stale air out in just a few minutes. I paired mine with a couple of solar panels and just leave it on all day long. It only draws 18 watts on low, 26 watts on medium and a little over 30 watts on high. Easy install.

Don't put it off.
During the ownership of several motor homes, I always lusted for a Fan-Tastic vent but never managed to turn loose of the cash. After a recent purchase of a used motor home I discovered a cracked vent and decided to spring for the deluxe rather than another basic. It took the same amount of effort to replace either. Why did I deny myself for so long? Multi-speed, bi-directional, power raise, and thermostatic shutoff. What else could one want? Rain sensor shut-off of course. I'm crazy about this fan. On a cool night you can set the t-stat to turn off the fan when the temp drops too low. The huge quiet multi-bladed fan blade is a welcome change from the little high-speed fan that is usually found in RVs. I really wonder if those actually move any air or do they just sound like it. LOL Exhaust flow can be selected to remove the hot air from the ceiling region or pull in air from an open window. Reverse the flow and deluge the area with cool outside air in the Spring and Fall. Of course the fan can be turned off and with the vent raised and it can provide an opening for makeup air to supply the need of the range vent. As I recently witnessed, the rain sensor really works well as my FanTastic shut itself down after only the first few sprinkles of a rain shower.

This fan SUCKS!!! (as a compliment)
This is our second fan-tastic fan install and three hype around these fans is real. This is a quality product that exceeds my expectations. The reverse feature is great for bedrooms as it functions as a ceiling fan. Great price from Amazon Warehouse deals.

This fan is Fantastic. The made in USA quality shows
This fan is Fantastic. The made in USA quality shows. Very smooth operation of automatic lift. Rain sensor closes within a minute or two of rain and automatically shuts off the fan. I thought might even was DOA but did not realize that the remote needs to be synced with the fan. Very easy to do once I Googled the instructions (which were missing from the box.) I cut the hole and installed t this in my Coleman popup in about an hour. It took a few more hours to build a trim box to cover the fan since the fan came below the roof line this was necessary to install the trim bezel. I used a PVC trim from home Depot to make it and then some decorative computer wire conduit to hide the wires. Very nice....looks factory fresh

Probably the best choice out there
I had this fan installed in my van for almost 2 years and it's been good to me, there's still room for improvement but I think is the best fan out there, the only 2 problems I have are: having the rain sensor at dusk when humidity is at is peak the rain sensor gets triggered and closes the fan when there's actually no rain, I can manually open it after that but I had it do that about 15 times during very humid nights, there's also no way of shutting off the rain sensor and the fan won't reopen when the rain sensor resets, after having that issue I ended up disconnecting the rain sensor and if I leave the van I close the lid halfway so if it rains water won't get in and the air will still flow, the other problem is no partial opening via remote control, you can do it manually, both of these problems are common in all fully automated fans as far as I know so for that reason I still prefer my fantastic fan Pros: is the most efficient fan out there, is roughly about 2.2 amps at full speed and it moves A LOT of air (great for dry camping or solar campers) Remote control works flawlessly as long as you point at it Has all the functions available so far, 20 speeds more or less, temperature functions, rain sensor, reverse mode and open and close Cons: It has a faint ratcheting sound that I can hear at lower speeds, mainly if you run it on reverse, at higher speeds the air flow noise won't let you hear it No controls on the fan itself, all the controlling is done with the remote control except for manual opening and closing, The manual opening knob is always engaged so when you open it manually is kind of hard to turn and if you disconnect the power source is nearly impossible to open or close, I normally open it automatically but often prefer to close the lid half way

This is the 3rd Fantastic Fan that I have ordered
This is the 3rd Fantastic Fan that I have ordered, and I have been very satisfies with them all. First of all, and most important top me, is the performance. This fan moves a lot of air, and does it very efficiently. I rarely turn it own above the lowest setting because it moves so much air. I have one on my Teardrop camper, one on a van conversion camper, and this one is installed on my 14' vintage camper. The way I use this fan is to turn it on low and open a window by my head while sleeping. The cool night air is gently pulled over me while I sleep, and I do not have a fan roaring by my head. I also use it to exhaust smoke and heat generated when cooking. It does a great job of that also. I love this fan, and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Easy to install
I replaced the bathroom fan with this one. This fan is whisper quiet and will pull all moisture and odors out of my RV. Smoke detector does not sound off when I am cooking! Easy to install!

Built for the idiot in all of us
Not that this is a simple plug and play device but if you are a genius like me and hook it up to the 110 rather than a 12v power source and try to flick it on, the small built in fuse will quickly let you know with a puff of smoke that you've done something rather extraordinary and NOT followed the instructions. Not a problem, just pop it out, replace it (rewire it properly) and it fires right up. There is even a dummy proof sensor that won't allow you to run the fan with the vent 10% closed!! This thing looks amazing on my 1958 Shasta and fit right in place without drilling, sawing, or complex wiring. Great Product

Quality plastic. Reassuring switches. Quiet Operation. Substantial Air Flow
I've had my eye on one of these for years. I bought the budget model because rain sensors, automatic up/down, remotes, 14 speeds, etc. seemed profoundly silly to me. I just need to suck the hot air out. Here were my initial impressions when I got it. 1. Whoa. Big. 2. Wow. Metal mounting arms for the motor? Nice. 3. This plastic is FAR tougher than my stock vent covers. 4. That fan switch has a nice solid "click" to it. 5. Only 2 wires? Cool. Easy. 6. I want another one. How can this only cost $100-ish bucks? The vent alone runs close to $50. Installation was too easy (how often does that happen?). The interior trim piece worried me but it's a simple score-bend-break job. They give you instructions. To test the fan before you install it just touch the wires to a light socket (12v interior light). If, on the outside chance, you wanted the fan to blow in instead of out, just switch the +/- wires and there ya' go. Most importantly, how does it feel? On a 25 foot Class C with the fan mounted in the back and the windows over the cab open, it just feels like a nice steady breeze passing through the cabin. It's that feeling you get around 2am with all the windows open when you just happen to park the rig the right way and you get that awesome evening air coming through the cab. The reason I don't like the RV is I like fresh air and the A/C can be really drafty and harsh. In fact, I like sleeping under the stars. But this will make sleeping in the RV a real treat - comfort AND breeze. Okay... way too excited about a fan. I shouldn't be surprised - they're well reviewed all over the Intertubes. But I was still surprised by the build quality and the amount of air it moved.

The auto rain closure is a great option. The first time out in my absence ...
I purchased this fan to resolve an issue with my 2013 Ford E150 extended van no having a big enough AC compressor. I had the fan installed professionally. I was hard to find someone to do it but I found a RV sales and service that would. Some questions came up during installation as to wire through the ignition or wire it directly to the battery. I opted the batters so I could operate the fan without the ignition switch being on. The cover has the option of opening or closing without the fan so the battery does not drain. The auto rain closure is a great option. The first time out in my absence it rained and the lid closed on its own like a champ. The channeled roofline on my van was addressed using Dicor sealant and tape. It does not leak. The fan is a answer to a several year old nuisance. My van is now comfortable to enter after sitting in the hot sun for hours. The only minor issue I have is the wireless remote operated by infared, not radio waves. You have to reach over the front seat in order for the remote to "see" the fan. This is a great product.I Love It.
