- Air Lift Mechanism: The Bertha has an easy to use airlift mechanism that raises and lowers your sewing machine with just a simple push. You can position the base of your machine flush with the table top in freearm position (useful for working on sleeves and cuffs) or you can push it down slightly into flatbed position so that that the sewing bed is flush with the surface. The airlift mechanism can fully adjust to any type of sewing machine base height so you can be sure your fabric will be perfectly level. With one push downwards you can store your sewing machine all the way out of sight.
- Large Machines: The Bertha is designed to hold the largest of machines and the airlift mechanism can handle a 60 pound machine. The opening will accommodate sewing machines up to 22 9/16 inches (wide) x 11 3/4 inches front to back (deep) x 14 1/2 inches (tall.) The Bertha will fit the new Bernina 830 Viking Sapphire and Babylock Ellisimo.
- Generous Surface Area: When the leaves are in the open position the table top features a vast expanse of surface area to either side of your chair. You sit comfortably in the center right in front of the needle. Meanwhile the leaves rest on sturdy supports so you do not need to fear that they will bow or crack the second you put anything heavier than a spool of thread on top.
- Quilt Leaf: Included with the Bertha is the space expanding quilt leaf. This will increase your surface area even more by adding a table top behind your machine. The leaf attaches to the back of the cabinet by sliding along a metal rod. The rod allows you to position the leaf exactly where your want it. (Generally a little to the left of your machine.) Once your leaf is attached fragile quilts and other materials won't fall to the floor as you sew.
- Storage: When the two doors of the Bertha are opened, they reveal eight generous storage trays perfect for holding all your notions and accessories. Having a place for all your materials makes getting organized a snap, and your sewing experience becomes much more pleasurable.

Great product!
The Bertha has plenty of room for sewing, quilting, and ironing. I love the fold down quilt leaf and recessed opening for my machine with hydraulic lift for storing and raising my machine. I bought the option of a custom clear insert, which makes sewing easier.

Excellent Sewing Cabinet The product arrived in excellent condition and a little faster than expected. The material, although "mdf", was surprisingly well manufactured. All joints fit perfectly after applying the hardware. There was no warping or mis-shapen pieces. Once assembled, the clean style was appealing and the cherry finish was attractive. It is a strong and beautiful piece of furniture! HINT1: use a high-quality wood-glue to all contact surfaces prior to engaging hardware connections. HINT2: Follow steps and do NOT attach doors or wheels until final "Lift Mechanism" (while cabinet is upside-down) attachment is complete (Note: under screws attaching machine board to lift "wings" may require you to use different "pilot holes" as mine did not match. Simply place board symmetric (with described cardboard maintaining gap around entire board) to the "wings" and screw in place (this is the "ONLY' possible change that you may run across from the printed directions). ***ALSO, please use the 'Video" provided here at amazon for assembling the cabinet. The young women do an excellent job of guiding your assembly! HINT3: Use WD-40 to lubricate lift wheels (steel) and where they contact the "rail" of lift mechanism (while riding "up" and "down"), then clean surrounding area of excess lubricant. This step will ease the resistance of lowering and raising lift for your machine (it really is a good lift).

PLEASE READ. VERY EASY TO DO.
I purchased this product for my mom. She had been sewing on two kitchen tables. I read several reviews before buying this product. Most saying missing items, not labeled, and taking 5-7 hours. It took me (31) and my step dad (70+) 2 hours and 45 minutes. That’s with fixing two problems I created because I didn’t read the instructions. All the parts were labeled and and everything was there except three tiny screws which were easy to find in the spare drawer. The only bad I can say about the process is on the instructions, the pictures are in black and what and are hard to see what they are doing.

Product is great, Assembly instructions very poor for the money I paid for this product.
Product turned out to be exactly what we wanted once it was all put together. Assembly took 3 hours and a little thinking on my own to make it all work. Assembly instructions were poor for the money I payed. Mostly the pictures were so poor you could not tell what they were showing. Magnets for doors do not match pre-drilled hole pattern so one is left to drill their own pilot hole so as not to split out the wood and guess which hole may be the correct one to start with. I suggest the manufacturer actually follow their own step by step instructions carefully and they will quickly see what needs to be corrected and improved. Instructions need to be written for the type of customer that has no real hands on experience. Myself I assemble custom machinery everyday so figuring this out was ok and I had all the tools to make the job as easy as possible.

Good addition to my sewing room!
This cabinet is really pretty and is fairly easy to assemble. My husband and I managed to get it done in about 4 hours. My advice to others is to read the instructions before trying to put it together...saves a lot of time if you don’t have to take it apart because a piece is upside down or backwards! Also, I appreciated the seller so much for getting this to me quickly, responding to my messages and helping me feel good about my purchase. I highly recommend both the cabinet and the seller. Thanks Sewing Tables by Sara!

Love Bertha! The Bertha Cabinet provides ample sewing surface and best sewing position.
Husband assembled it, asking for my assistance when installing the lift, and when turning it over after lift was installed. Take your time with the instructions. Read reviews. Watch the YouTube video of assembly. All are helpful. Love the Bertha cabinet. Have sewn at it several times since acrylic insert arrived (ordered separately to custom fit cabinet and my specific machine). Cabinet allows me to center myself with needle for best sewing position. Hinged rear extension is easy to extend. Even without extension, Bertha provides ample sewing surface. Easy to close up for a tidy room when not in use.

Well designed, particularly for the price.
If you don’t have the money for the high end sewing cabinets then seriously consider this model. It is well designed & includes the retractable sewing table. Directions are not great & even skip explaining a step, so read it all first & double check yourself along the way. Parts & screws are very carefully packaged.

Beautiful design
This is a beautiful cabinet. I love it. Putting the cabinet together was not the easiest though. It took my husband and I two days. Some of the hardware quantities and descriptions were different than what was listed in the directions so that was hard to follow. I wish they would review their directions from the customer point of view and re-do them for clarity.

Good product for set up and construction details
Easy to put together. We did order the adapter for the model of sewing machine. Took a while to receive as the person who took the order said they were custome made. Could have been more clear about this from the start.
