Finally a good steamer basket that doesn't break!

Years ago you could buy a steamer basket and use it for years and years. In the last decade though they have gotten worse and worse - falling apart after only a few uses. I tried most brands available to no avail. But finally this Chef Craft 21522 basket at Amazon has it worked out. They put a wider "hinge" on the "leaves" so there's not so much leverage on them as you open and close it. It works great and is holding up now perfectly. Highly recommended.

Dual Purpose Kitchen Cutie

Had one of these some time ago but couldn't find another in our current area. I had to go on amazon to find one. Glad I did. I read about cooking hard boiled eggs better by putting them in a strainer rather than immerse in boiling water. The water boils beneath the strainer and the eggs, when done, peel great under running water. Vegetables turn out great too!

Worth buying

This vegetable steamer is worth buying (the clip in middle can be taken out and go back in) It can steam vegetables, puddings, fish, slow defrosting and reheating food. By steaming the loss of minerals is less as heat lessens the quality in raw vegetables. (After steaming uses water for gravy or soup). Boiling vegetables worsens the mineral quality. When vegetables leave the soil the quality begins to lessen. Sent one for sister in USA and loves it. Wouldn't be without one. Highly recommended

Replaces the Basket I Used For Years

This basket is a carbon copy of the one I used for years. What makes it for me is the post feet. Not the flimsy clip-on feet I've seen in the local big box stores. Cleans up easy and folds up for easy storage.

Sturdy and works great steaming veggies in regular pots and especially well in the Instant Pot.

Very sturdy, and well made steamer basket, that fits various sizes of your pots, and pans. Great for steaming fresh, or frozen vegetables, potatoes, fish, etc. This is the best way to cook, while keeping vitamins in your food, and out of the water you boiled your food in. Has an easy, convenient handle to lift out of your pot. Also easy to clean, and folds together nicely. I highly recommend this steamer basket.

A Definite Thumbs Up

I like this little steamer! It can fit in various size pots by opening like a flower, it just stops when the edges hit the side of the pot. I have been using mine in my Instant Pot lately & it works great. It folds up to a pretty small size for storage as well. I like that the center post has a little ring to make lifting the steamer out of the pot easier. The ring cools pretty quickly so I have not had any issues lifting it out with my fingers, after giving it a few seconds to cool. It you prefer, you can take a large fork, insert one of the tines through the metal ring and lift it out that way. It's inexpensive and I think it will last for years. A good buy.

Works great!

This was a littler smaller than I was expecting (my old one that broke was bigger) but really, it doesn't matter because it opens up and touches the edge of whatever pot I decide to put it in and steams stuff exactly the way it should. It's easy to put in and take out, and does the job! Easy to throw in the dishwasher too. Highly recommend.

Saw this on Good Eats and had to have it.

I had to order one of these after I saw Alton Brown using it. It really is very cool to be able to steam in any size pan that I own. I do find it a little difficult to pick up out of the pan but maune if I had a better set of tongs it might be easier.

Steamer Basket - No Plastic Parts

I'm using this regularly to pressure cook easy-peel eggs. Works great. Cleans easily. Good stainless. I like that it doesn't have any plastic parts. I store it right in my smallest work bowl.
