Its a good system that was a head of its time.
Lets go! I didn't own this when it was released, but now in 2016 where Im so used to using app stores to get games, this little awesome device makes since. 16 GB is kinda low for storage but you can find a 8Gb memory card for not too much on Amazon. The screen looks really good, even though it is a tad smaller then the other psp's. Personally, I think its way better then my PSP 2000 screen.

Great time to buy since its phasing out
NOTE: Not promoting piracy, not telling you to pirate. If you like a game, support the devs and buy it. Not sure if there are more versions of the GO, but the one I recieved was perfectly flashable and you can put a permanent, stable version of custom firmware if you wanted to play homebrew files you download online. Not going to put links, but just Google 6.20 PRO-B10, read instructions and you can have access to a whole array of "homebrew" titles released in the past (almost) 10 years. Pros: - What I like about this version as opposed to my other "fat" PSP is that you can utilize 16GB of internal storage for homebrew PLUS a memory expansion if you wanted more storage. The PSP fat you need to buy mandatory flash memory. - The GO is compact. It fits better in your pocket better than a PSP Fat. Cons: - The GO is awkward to hold. I have big hands/fat thumbs and while the GO has these bumps in the back meant to rest your fingers on, they dont protrude out enough and your fingers still slip over them when playing a faster paced game. Not a big concern because you just get used to it, but I personally prefer the "hills" behind the buttons of the PSP Fat. - You cannot replace the battery without opening up the PSP. So, if your battery is starting to die, you have to pop the system open to get to it. - The volume, brightness, and music buttons are awkwardly placed behind the screen when it is slid open, so it is difficult to adjust those settings on the fly. All in all, I love my GO. I bought mine for ~$60 used (price for a premium game) and have a number of items currently installed in it with a number more in reserve ready to be switched out when I finish playing one. Not going to do the math.

This...Is...AWESOME!!!
I bought this as a replacement for my 2000 series as it can't play games anymore...At first I was disappointed because my hands are too big for this and I said to my self "just send it back" but then my buddy told me about something I was not expecting...I can use my PS3 controller to navigate and play the PSPGO...I thought I give it a try and have a good laugh before I send it back but to my surprise I play WAY better on Granturismo PSP and on Guilty Gear Judgement...It's a stupid little gimmick but I love it and I'm keeping it...I'm also installing my PSone classics at the moment to try'em out...Now I need to buy the PSPgo Component AV Cable to hook it up on my TV LOL

PERFECT for emulation on the "go"
My new favorite system.. by far. I spent hours, days even, frantically seeking a new device to use as a handheld/portable emulation device. I looked at everything you can think of, from dedicated emulation portables (Dingoo, etc), Android phones, Nvidia SHIELD, etc. I own an Nvidia SHIELD Portable, a Galaxy Note 4 w/ Moga gamepad, and the list goes on. There is simply nothing as sleek, stylish, portable, and perfect as the PSP Go (especially in pearl white). It handles everything I wanted it to in terms of retro consoles, and it does so beautifully. The display makes it perfect for SNES/Genesis/GBA etc. I have large hands and feared that this seemingly perfect emulation machine would be too small or cramped for my liking, but it is ergonomically flawless in my opinion. It feels very nice in the hands, buttons are extremely responsive, and does not feel the slightest bit cheap/low quality. If you are into emulators/retro gaming, pick one of these up, install custom firmware on it, and you will be all set. The 16GB built-in memory gives you plenty of space for all your favorite games and retro libraries. Not to mention you can also pick up an 8GB M2 memory stick for another ~$15. On top of being great for emulation, you also have access to a great library of PSP games. This will fit in your pocket easily, look great, feel great, and play great. There is simply no better handheld on the market right now, especially at this price point. It will not handle N64 well, but you are not sacrificing much at all here because the SHIELD can hardly handle most games either. I leave my N64 emulation to my Note 4 + Moga gamepad, and it works MUCH better than such a sleek device would. You won't regret this purchase if you enjoy oldschool gaming. It really is a great buy.

Excellent product for new PSP users!!!
I have had the PSP GO for nearly 4 months and I absolutely love it! The build quality is what I expect to get from Sony, and the comfort to size ratio is good. I love the small size, though it does sacrifice a level of comfort. This comes with 16GB of onboard storage space, and an add on slot for another 16GB. I added another 8GB, and have over 20 games installed, so space is not an issue to be had. The playstation store for purchasing games is intuitive and works well with a good internet connection. If you do not have wireless internet, or a PS3 connected to the internet this may not be for you; as it would be difficult to add games. If you have a PS3, adding games to the system is seamlessly simple. PSP games can be stored on the PS3 for future installation. I hate buying used games, as they have no sanctifying values if they don't work after purchase, but with all digital purchases, losing, and breaking UMD's is not an issue. Holiday sales are awesome, and usually put popular titles at 50% off or less, not to mention other various weekly sales on the PSN. I love not having over 20 UMD's floating about to keep track of. Every single game is accessible to play at any time. Love it! Better yet, I liked the product enough to get one for my sister for Christmas who lives in another state! Best part here is that we can share an account and have up to 3 PSP's on in, allowing us to share every game purchase we get. The online features even allow us to play games like Phantasy Star Portable 2 online together without a single hickup. Other notable features include skype (awesome for serious gamers wanting to keep clutter off of the computer while playing), an internet radio (why not?), the ability to add mp3's (decent sound quality at that), connectivity to your television AND you can even use your PS3 controller when doing so, if you're into such things. If you left a PS1 game uninstalled and want to play it while at the parents house for a holiday season, no problem it it's on your PS3. You can use remote play on the PSP with any internet connection to play less demanding PS3 titles from any location. For example, I was working and up at a hotel and felt like playing Bionic Commando. No problem, I just used remote play. This also works wit hall PS1 titles. I add that it also has bluetooth. This may matter to some people, since the other PSP models do not. Some drawbacks include some cramping while playing the smaller form system, even though I prefer the size on the go. Not particularly a serious drawback, but the battery life only ranges from 3-6 hours. The "pause" feature and sleep modes help remedy this a bit, and do use "pause," because it is very convenient when in the middle of game play. I hate UMD's, but some people like having something to look at, so this is a con for some; having no UMD slot. I am not hard of hearing, but if you are, I could see the headphone volume being too low for some. All in all, I rate this to be an excellent product, especially for new PSP users. If you like the digital concept this will be worth the money, just be sure to read game reviews before buying games to avoid wasting money on bad titles. --Nate

Emu Dream Machine on the go, well, plays PSP games too
Love it. Soft modding it wasn't too hard (search YouTube) and now is loaded up with every emu I can think of.

A fair bit better than the PSP 2/3000, but only a little
It's glossy, it sparkles, it's compact, it's quite the device. It doesn't play UMD's, but that doesn't really hamper it since if you have lots of digital games, coupled with it's big capacity, you can have lots of games on the go (get it?)

Just what I wanted. 100%
Perfect. Factory sealed just like they said. I paid what most wouldn't but I did for a reason. Couldn't be more satisfied and I haven't even turned on the device yet!

Great little product.
I will keep this simple. Pros: Small (can fit in pockets) Nice screen - Even though it is smaller than other PSPs it is very sharp looking. Decent game selection. Easy to get emulators for older game systems.(legally for those wondering) Good amount of built in memory with option to expand. Built in microphone for a select few games and Skype. Decent music playing capabilities. Comes with 3 free games that are not bad! (even buying this used I got the game code from Sony) Cons: Battery life seems pretty short, especially when compared to the Nintendo DS The charger that it comes with is large and cumbersome. Considerations: Digital - can not use the game discs. Not an issue for me, for some it would be, especially owners of older model PSPs Unprotected screen - Get a screen protector, they are dirt cheap and worth it. The screen could get scratched real easy. Controls - People who like fps, 3rd person shooters, ect. may not like having only one analog stick that much.

PSP Go; underrated and over criticized
The PSP Go has been criticized by avid gamers, the gaming media, and the general public at large since it's debut in 2009. I did not have a previous generation PSP, so I cannot speak to their comparison. However, personally I love my PSP Go. I primarily purchased the PSP Go because I did not want to begin another collection of games and need to carry UMDs. I've been an iPhone owner for quite sometime, and I love the convenience of having music, videos, games, and WiFi internet in my pocket all the time. The PSP Go (White) was only [...] through amazon and pricing the PSP 3000 with a 16 GB Memory stick put me near enough in the ballpark to preclude the price deterrence. The argument that "for only $50 more you can get a PS3" is a red herring. I would think most people willing to purchase a "digital content" only item such as the PSP Go are already PS3 owners. The features are pretty neat in linking them up, as well as being able to connect component AV cables to your PSP Go and use a BT Sixaxis or DS3 wireless controller. It's not a huge thing, but super fun given I can hook it up to my monitor at work or bring it on the road. In terms of quality and craftsmanship it is very nicely put together and feels very solid in the hands. I don't have Shaq hands but it feels comfortable and right-sized which makes me think those who have denigrated the PSP Go because of the controls being narrowed must be cousins to Andre the Giant. I have a GB in pics, music and vids and 10 games (including Rock Band, FFVII, Gran Turismo, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, and Prince of Persia) and still have nearly 6GB remaining of the 14GB available at the start. Plus for about 60-70 bucks I can double my memory with a Memory Stick Micro and have another 16GB. In all I am very satisfied with my purchase. The graphics, sound and overall package is excellent and on par with Sony gaming in general. The future is digital only content, embrace it!!!
