I wouldn't use it for 100w bulbs but for CFLs of LEDs they're great, make any outlet a light fixture

Cheap but just what I wanted. Have used these outside before, but undercover, for a couple years. I wouldn't use it for 100w bulbs but for CFLs of LEDs they're great, make any outlet a light fixture. Indoors they'd probably last years.

Inexpensive and handy

This little guy was cheap and is quite handy as the light in my bathroom is way too bright. Pop a soft white bulb or probably any bulb you want and you are in business !

Just what I needed!

This is exactly what I was looking for and at a great price too. I have a loft and the light switch goes to an outlet on the wall and I decided that instead of hanging a light and dealing with securing the cord to the ceiling and wall I'd rather just be able to put a light directly into that outlet. This made it possible to just attach a bulb and plug it into the socket so when I got up I can have light right away if I need it. I'm very happy with it!

Light Bulb in Overhead Power Outlet in Garage

When I started looking I honestly wasn't expecting to find this, and yet, I found exactly what I had envisioned (after not finding it at the hardware store). This is cheap and does exactly what I wanted to do... put a standard light bulb in a traditional outlet. There's no switches, no features... It simply connects a bulb to an outlet and nothing more. Which is perfect. My scenario: I've got a Philips Hue system in the house with multiple lights, but I had a spare bulb with no use. So, I purchased this along with a Hue motion sensor, and installed a motion activated light in my garage. Yeah, the door opener has a light, but it's only triggered by running the door and stays on for just a few minutes. I've got a refrigerator, toolbox, and other things in the garage so go out there more often than just going to the car. So, I now have this device plugged into the ceiling outlet where my door opener is plugged, the Hue bulb in the socket, and a motion sensor over the door. When I walk out, the light is triggered, and turns off a few minutes after there is no motion. It was a simple fix to a minor problem, but I'm very pleased with now having a light out there for nighttime. This is likely a limited use product as you'd either need to use it with an always-on light or with an outlet which is switched in some way (or in my case, a smart bulb). Still, when you need such a niche item, Amazon saves the day!

Cheap and works great!

Not sure why there are some reviews out there hating on this adapter. It works great with the 100W LED bulbs that I am using them with, and it works certainly better than the socket adapter that it replaced. The previous one that I used caused my LED bulbs to flicker and buzz. These work fine in conjunction with the GE 54178 adapter. These adapters are made of plastic but don't feel very flimsy and plug in securely. I did have to administer a little bit a force due to the polarized ends, but that is to be expected.

Decent for the price.

Feels pretty cheap, but that's probably cause it was cheap lol works great to turn any extension cord into a work light, I've only used with led bulbs. So I have no idea how this holds up to the heat of normal light bulbs.

Great adapter!

This socket adapter is great for times when I don't want to spend money on a lamp to light up an area. Love how I can use any outlet and turn it into a lamp socket!

Great for gadget lovers

Great little device. Good for circuit testing and labeling. I like it so much I have a 25-watt candle bulb in it just sitting around, and I use it for an instant night light or mood lighting. Great for gadget lovers.
