I was using the kensington remote previously and it worked great for a long time but then I lost it
I bought this for use with my 2008 Macbook Pro, which runs Os X Yosemite. I use it for PPT and Keynote and I have had no issues with it. I originally got it from office depot and found it cheaper here on Amazon so I returned it as office depot. I was using the kensington remote previously and it worked great for a long time but then I lost it. I purchased that back in 2010. Well I got another one and it didn't perform so well. I returned it for another and that one didn't do good either. It said 50 feet and was giving me more like 8-10ft. I saw this clicker for a long time and decided to go for it and it has been the best clicker. I really like the timer and I used frequently but I wish it would start from zero and just keep counting. You have to program a time into it and then it counts down and I don't like that feature. It buzzes in your hands when you have gone past your program time. The green lazer really shows up nice on the screen so your audience can see it. The red lazer on the Kensington never really could be seen on the screen. Some people said they had problems on their Mac with the R800 but for me on Yosemite it has been really nice and I stand about 50 ft away and it does the job really well. UPDATE: 3/25/18 - Now running this on a 2018 Macbook Pro with touch bar 15 inch and it runs flawless with High Sierra. Best ppt or keynote remote you'll ever buy. Love the green laser as it shows up very well. I hated the price on this as it is more than the others but I guess you get what you pay for.

Great small controll
Great remote control that works at a great distance. We bought this for our church that has a distance of 85' from where the computer is to where the pastor stands and this little wireless presenter works just fine. It nicely fits in the palm of your hand and is very light. All of us who have used it are happy with it and have no issues with it. The only thing that I wish they could change would be the laser. It's not as strong as I wanted it to be. The dot is also pretty small so it gets lost on our screen. We have a 15'x25' screen so the laser is hard to notice at times. Other than that the control works flawlessly as it should. it also has other options but we have not played with it yet.

The BEST remote presenter ever made!!!
I bought my first Logitech R800 in 2012 (after using the R400 for many years) and have used it constantly since then. I am a professional instructor who teaches 8 to 10 hours a day for six days around 30 weeks per year (courses that average 200+ slides per day). The R800 I currently have has changed slides for me something over 200,000 times (no joke) and shined it's laser for hours on end over the years. Just this week (8/8/2016), the buttons started to wear out - I have to hit the button two, three, or four times to change a slide. I just purchased another R800 without hesitation (and was VERY glad to see they are still available). In my opinion, this is a fantastic high quality tool that does exactly what is designed to do. It changes slides forward and back with no hassle. The green laser pointer is very bright (much better than the R400's red laser). It is comfortable in the hand and fits easily in your pants pocket. You can blank the slides with a simple click. I simply could not ask for more in a remote presenter type of tool. Note: I do not utilize the timer on the device, so I really cannot comment on that feature. I have used this presenter on Windows systems (running Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10), MAC OSX through El' Capitan, and even a few times on systems running Linux. I have never had a problem or needed to do any special setup. You just plug it in and it works. I am extremely happy with it... In fact, I wonder if I should have bought two today so I would have a spare in case they stop making it????? I hope this is a help.

Great product with Timer function.
Working great so far. I will update the review after few months. In my case, it's a Win_7 and MS PPT 2017. Works great. The timer would take a few minutes to figure out how to work. In a nutshell: Turn on the Device Press "00:00" button on the side once to start set up. Press next page and last page button to set up timer. The number is in minutes not seconds. Press"00:00" to confirm. Press "Play/Pause" on the side to start counting down. The number would go down. Vibration would occur when 5mins, 2min and 0mins left. Afterward, the timer would count up.

8 Reasons why I Love this Device
I am a professional presenter. I've owned may but this Logitech product is clearly the best. Here is why.... Excellent value for the price Green laser - much easier to see even in a large auditorium USB locks securely into the device Timer function is a real benefit. Set the time of your talk and a visual count down timer starts. You even get a warning when you have 5 minutes left. Secure off/on lock - no more drained battery. Nice storage pouch Very long range - effective at least 100' Well placed controls. I don't have to look down to advance the presentation.

brighter and larger point than Logitech Wireless Presenter R400 (red)
I like everything about it. Except I sometime forget to turn it 'off' and the battery drains. The only other issue is that this pointer doesn't work on TV monitors, which a lot of universities are switching to from traditional projectors. Furthermore, I compared it to my bosses Logitech Wireless Presenter R400 (which is red), and this one was brighter and had a larger point.

Great presenter but beware Mac users, some tweaking required
I bought the Logitech R800 to accompany me in my presentations which are an integral part of my professional life. The good: highly visible pointer, great grip, has all the buttons you need (pointer, start, up-down pages/slides, blank screen, and has also a timer), comes with a thin net-looking protection sleeve. The "could be better": if you need a harder protecting case I recommend the Hermitshell for Logitech Professional R800. The not so good :-(. Although not a reason to not buy it altogether, this pointer is designed for Windows and requires some twitching for the Mac OS and the MacBook Pro 2016+. The problem with the remote is related to 2 of the 4 buttons on the remote not working as Keynote expects. After plugging in the USB antenna into your laptop and pressing the buttons on the remote, Keynote interprets the 2 lower buttons differently that expected. The button on the lower left should “Play Slideshow” and the one on the right should “blank” the screen (the equivalent of pressing the letter B on the keyboard in Keynote). However, the “button” signal sent from the presenter to the USB antenna is not what Keynote expects. That creates the problem. To fix the first button: On you computer, go to System Preferences (under the ) and select Keyboard, Application Shortcuts and Keyboard Shortcuts and click the + button. Find Keynote and type After selecting Keynote, “Play Slideshow” (Capitalization matters.) This is the menu item you will be giving the F5 shortcut to for the Play Slideshow button. To fix the "blank Screen button" you need a little more tweaking: You need to create a new keyboard map with Ukelele (free application you can download online), then remap the ¨.¨ to the letter ¨b¨ in a new keyboard layout you will use for your presentations only. Once your presentation is over you can switch back to your common qwerty or qaerty keyboard. The last thing to consider is that the presenter Antenna has a USB connector and you will need a USB-C adaptor if you, like me, have a New MacBook Pro 2015+

All buttons work perfectly on MAC (Keynote and Microsoft PowerPoint)
I use MAC OS X, Snow Leopard 10.6.6. By default , all buttons worked correctly on Microsoft Powerpoint and Keynote except the Play button (start button) which didn't work on Keynote. To fix this, you need to open System Preferences, select the Keyboard & Mouse panel, and then select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. Click the Plus button to assign a new shortcut and a new panel appears. Add Keynote as the application (you'll have to scroll to the bottom of the list, select Other... and then find where Keynote is installed). In the Menu Title section, type "Play Slideshow" and then assign this to the keyboard shortcut of F5. When you then restart Keynote, you can click on the View menu and you will see that "Play slideshow" is now linked to the F5 shortcut (instead of the default Command-Option-P). Now all the buttons of Logitech Professional Presenter R800 ( I think also R400), work perfectly and without any problem on Keynote too. Hence, this presenter device will completely work on MAC OS X, if you apply the above trick.

Yessss greeeeeeennnn!!!
Now seriously, this thing is great. I know it's one of the pricier presenters but it's also the best I've ever tried, by far! The good: - Feels great, at first I thought it had an awkward shape, and I thought it was too big, but after my first presentation I realized that it was just perfect... why? Cause I forgot that I had it in my hand! - The laser is amazing, yes, green does work A LOT better than any red laser, but I won't give you a lesson in physics here. - Buttons are responsive and with enough feedback to prevent accidental pushes. - Built in timer! Yesssss!!!~ With vibration! The bad: - I wish that the programming would be a little bit more intuitive. - Bit higher price, but then again, worth it! Please hit "YES" If this helped you make a decision!

Perfect if you will give presentations often
Used for MANY presentations and conferences, works great on Mac or PC. Pricy but having the timer function (also vibrates), laser pointer, and clicker all-in-one is totally worth it. If you are only going to use it for a few presentations then you may not get your money's worth. I have given ~6 major academic presentation (Between 12-40mins in length) since purchasing (each one practicing over and over again) and I still haven't had to change the batteries. I plan on giving MANY more presentation in my career, and I love having my pointer than I know how to use, know the functions, and will keep me on time. The laser pointer is plenty bright for all rooms and projection settings. Highly recommended.
