• Tibetan singing bowl for mediation
  • 4-5" diameter
  • Comes with wooden striker
  • Made of 7 metals
  • Nice sound

Bought it for my wife, she's into these things. Seems to make the right "dong". I know when breakfast, lunch, dinner is ready "DONG". I'm sure she has another use for it, "What mystic powers or use it has?" but for me it's a great dinner bell. It's finished really nice, smooth and feels good to hold.

Very nicely done, authentic Tibetan Singing Bowl (4.75" wide x 2.4"high approx.) at a great price! The metal bowl has a brass (not copper, as in the photo) appearance with a black painted interior with gold painted yin yang symbol and other embellishment and 4/5 black painted exterior with gold painted inscription and embellishment. The 5" diameter pad isn't shown in the listing, but was decent quality, very pretty with a nice, embroidered lotus petal design in white, red, gold and blue surrounding a gold embroidered Om symbol in the center on a maroon velour pad with black hemmed edging. The bottom of the fairly thin pad is maroon nylon material. The striker was pretty basic (5" x 1" approx.) and mine arrived unvarnished and rough in spots and needed sanding, which of course, did remove the stain. My understanding is, covering the lower portion of striker with leather or suede will improve the performance and decrease the clinking sound the striker makes as you rotate it around the circumference. I tried inserting it in a leather glove as an experiment and playing the bowl (haha) and that didn't work very well. I may just use it as is. I bought one for my yoga practice and for my yoga students to enjoy either at the beginning of the class or to signal the end of shivasana. I bought another for a yogini friends' birthday gift which I know she will love. Perfect for use in meditation settings when beginning or ending as well. I would recommend this and consider it an outstanding value!

I couldn't be happier! Granted, this bowl only has to get a couple of things right... but mine nailed it (and it came with a gorgeous pillow, so they exceeded my expectations!) Even though this is my 1st singing bowl and I had never tried one before I was able to make it sing (and sing LOUDLY) immediately by simply running the striker around the rim at an even pace. You can control the volume of the sound with the speed of the circling. I recommend holding the striker somewhat firmly to the bowl while circling as the vibration from the sound can make it hop after you get going, and at first I thought there was a burr on the bowl or striker until I realized it was just the vibration pushing it off the bowl. Once you get to a decent volume you can slow your circular motion and maintain or adjust as you wish. Great tone and Look. I will by more, and from this seller, for sure. I will add video with audio when I have the time to do a proper recording.

Never knew something like this existed , till one day while browsing at a tourist trap style shop, I encountered another customer fiddling with one and I immediately became intrigued. I stood there listening to him manipulating a singing bowl and listen to the shop keeper discussing the item. I picked one up and started in on it and gotten the rythym quickly. It was an larger one than this item here and the price was quite hefty. Not knowing how much use it would get, I opted to price out a smaller one similar to this size and it was still out of my comfort zone for a potential dust collector trinket. On to the web and quickly found this one here. Arrived quickly and was playing sounds within minutes. I believe it took me longer to open the amazon box than to start playing. You won’t be disappointed in this one as a beginner singing bowl.

Excellent, high quality. I thought I was buying a cheapy, travel gong but this is substantial, the tone is very nice and the design is beautiful. It rivals in quality the larger, much more expensive bronze gong I've had for 30 years. It is a higher tone than my larger gong, but it's a nice, clear, quality tone. It is very well made, there is a cushion included which Seller should emphasize because it adds to the quality of the tone. The striker is also much nice than I expected. I would be very happy to use this as my primary gong for chanting and meditation. Honestly, I am now interested in seeing what else this manufacturer offers, I am so impressed by this gong.

When researching a singing bowl I read a lot of reviews. Most were good to excellent and some were hyper-critical of small flaws. This bowl is by far more than I expected and has a beautiful rhythmic sound. Picture of my Gohonson and the actual bowl is included here. As far as "small blemishes" and "not having a cushion?" I contacted the seller about the cushion and they got back to me super fast and acknowledged that it did indeed come with a cushion and it did. As far as any minute blemishes? I believe it adds to the beauty and unique personality that I would expect from a hand made work of art. All were packaged in a neat little box. This was Just my small contribution to good karma that I would like to pass on to any practicing yogi or buddha ! GET THIS BOWL...it is a great size and the price is way too cheap in my estimation....Nam-Meoho-Renge-Kio !!

It is 4" at the top opening and has a good sound. I got it to sing on the 1st try with the unwrapped wooden striker. When the bowl is hit it will continue for appx. 23 seconds. I compared it with a Japanese bell (using the wood striker) I have which is 4 1/2" and is much taller. The Japanese bell continued for 25 seconds after being struck. I gave 8 times more for the bell in 1999, than I did for this little set. It has came with a pad to sit it on.
