A very well made toy. Unfortunately my son never got into this. Like zilch interest. Big O. Nada. He likes to be able to fit things into his mouth, and he just can’t seem to find a good fit with these colorful wooden beads. I bought this when he was 6 months old. I dunno if it would have made a difference if I gave it to him when he was few months younger and not teething like crazy. I notice with certain toys, its all about timing. And also sometimes the baby just has preferences the way any individual does. Like my older son didn’t care for Sophie the Giraffe but my younger son does. My son is now nearly 10 months old and he still doesn’t care for it. So *shrug*- this is a well made beautiful toy and that’s what I’m rating it on. Will your baby like it just bc its got 4-5 stars from hundreds of other reviewers? Meh- maybe not. But in my case, its not the toy’s fault.

My favorite baby toy. I was lucky enough to find one of these at a garage sale with my last baby...picked it up for only a dollar and it was my all time favorite baby toy. I love that it is all wood. It has an artsy, organic feel to it, and so entertaining...I mean, I am even entertained by this. Unfortunately my dog got hold of it and ruined it! So sad. When I got pregnant with my next child I knew I had to have this toy again and so ordered it from amazon. It came in the mail and works great. Baby is still too young to get any play from it but if he's anything like my last one it will be a fast favorite. Plus in the meantime it makes a cute decoration on the baby's shelf. Very glad I ordered it. Would highly recommend.

I love this toy. When I bought I was really hesitant because of safety concerns, but it is really well made and I don't have concerns once I had it in my hands. The balls are pretty big and I don't feel like hold a huge choking hazard. The elastic holding them together is quite tough. It is such a fun toy. My son loves to play with it. And it's really cute. Manahatten Toy is the best!

Great toy I had always wanted to get for my kids when they were little but never did until this baby. She loves it but is also learning to roll over so its not to comfy to roll on top of. I hang it above her in her carseat or bassinet which works well. Pretty and colors are nice.

Despite being a childless 30-something, I have had my eye on this baby toy for quite some time. Luckily, my SIL requested 'colorful teething or interactive toys' for her new babe, so I got to purchase this for us to play with. I think that I liked it more than the baby, but I suspect his love for it will grow. He did get very big eyes when he saw it, and he immediately flopped his tiny baby mouth on it, so all in all it was a good choice. Also I love it.

These beads are one of my all-time favorite purchases. The toy is bright in color, constructed well & mesmerizing to fiddle with. It is larger than you'd think: each ball is slightly smaller than a ping-pong ball & the entire toy is about the size of my hand. The sound created by this toy is incredibly soothing & I welcome the absence of the electronic noise/songs that other baby toys have. Due to the weight & size of this toy, it is difficult for younger infants to hold onto it independently, but they enjoy slobbering on it & marveling at the colors. So far, I have had no issues with the paint chipping or the elastic loosening. I anticipate that this will be one of those toys that will be passed down from child to child & remain a favorite for years to come.

This toy is like crack. I ordered it for my (at the time) 6 month old, who expressed little interest in it. I picked it up one afternoon and couldn't put it down. It is so soothing! I love the colors, the smoothness of the wood, how easily they move around (yes, you can wear it as a bracelet if that's your thing). It's a great toy, like all the Manhattan toys are. Here we are and my daugter is 9 months old, and she loves it now too. I had to finally give it up and let her play with it. She's drawn to the colors, and the feel of it, just like me. Get it! You won't regret it.

Perfect for an infant! I loved these and we still have them because I think they are wonderful. I bought these for my son when he was an infant and he loved to grab the beads and move them all around. He also enjoyed the bright colors and of course, he liked to chew on them. They never chipped or had any issues with the paint or quality. Wonderful toy!

I hope this review (and photo) help buyers like me who want to see the difference between the Manhattan Toy version and the Haba version of these toy beads. To me, the Manhattan Toy beads are the original I've seen in stores and friends' homes, and I was disappointed by how small the Haba beads were. Manhattan Toy beads: --Each ball is larger in size --More balls --More colors and smooth finish --Well-made --Entertain adults and kids because of their size and movement --Overall large in size (bigger than my hand) --My 11-month-old loves it and can easily play with it using both hands Haba beads: --Smaller beads --Less beads on the string --Less colorful, has two purples next to each other (which bothered me), and has some color-distortions in several beads --Felt well-made, but the smaller size made it less fun to play with --Fits better in a baby's small hands but might be less entertaining as they grow up If you're looking for something that will entertain for years, I'd go with the Manhattan Toy beads. The Haba version will fit better in a diaper bag, but the smaller size isn't as appealing to play with.
