I was pretty hesitent to buy this, I've tried lists of drugstore primers that never seem to WOW! me. There is still some noticable pores and a lot are kinda oily, but this stuff.... Let me tell you about the stuff labeled magic, because this stuff really is magic. It has a thick, almost cream (?) texture and it just glides onto your skin, filling in every nook and crevice in your face. I would wear this by itself, and rock flawless skin. The only downfall, is how small the container is, given how often I use this. I've resorted to saving it as my "Im going out and I'm looking glam af" look. You will never regret buying this.

I absolutely love this stuff! I'm 70 but have fairly good skin, but it is not what it used to be. I have rather large pores on my nose, bags under my eyes, and fine lines around my mouth, and of course crows feet. First of all the product kind of feels like putty when you first dot your face. Then the miracles start to happen. As it warms up it becomes silky smooth and stays that way after applying makeup and through out the day. Nothing is going to make my pores shrink except a good sanding, and the same with wrinkles - but this product magically camoflauges both pretty darn well. My sister was visiting and we were making up in the bathroom together. She wanted something without retinol and most of my skin treatments have retinol. I handed her this little jar and she was hooked. Before we left the house we went on Amazon and she ordered 2 jars. She wants to make sure she doesn't run out. Do I recommend this magic elixer? Hell ya!

Lovvve This Primer! I've tried higher end primers that turn out oily, flakey, drying & ghostly! Only to come back to my L'Oreal's! It's goes on smoothly a little goes a long way! I'm 60 in these photos with a few blemishes like large pores! I put this All over my face in small amounts using circular motions with a flat top Kabuki type brush, after a light moisturizer has absorbed. Then I come back with a little more over those troubled areas! I spot conceal my foundation is next which goes on a lot smoother and I'm able to use lesser! I've been told by many that I don't look my age I appreciate it! But just want to look the Best I can at this stage of my life & this surely helps!! *No photo shop, blurring or filters used.

I have oily/combo skin. It's absolutely gross, super oily but I get weird flaky patches around my nose and forehead. So, while my oil shined through my foundation, the texture on my forehead would just look like trash. I hated doing my foundation, no matter how much I balanced face wash with exfoliating and oil-free moisturizer... Nothing worked. I just had the best makeup day of my life a few days ago, completely mattified my skin. I literally rubbed it onto my bare skin after I finished my skincare routine, and my jaw dropped. The shine vanished. My makeup when fantastic over it and held up for hours!!! It even blurred my pores! I compared this one to the Rimmel Staymatte and the Nyx Shine Killer, and this one was the best in comparison. I 100% recommend this product.

I've always had problem skin, first as the acne poster child for a decade, followed in most recent decades with an oily sheen and blotchy texture. Uneven to the max. When I first learned about primers, it was a gift from heaven in having any help at all in improving my uneven facial skin color and texture. After trying a number of primers, L'Oreal has proved itself to be the best for me. It's a little heavier than most, which gives me excellent coverage, and it also goes on smoothly for my skin type. I use it after moisturizer and follow it with foundation Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Makeup, Nude, 1.0 Fl Oz. (I let each product set for 30 seconds or so before applying the next.) The ingredients (listed below) are unpronounceable and I would guess lab-synthesized. I don't care. But for someone looking for organic and natural, this isn't it. For me, it does a wonderful job of making my face and life smoother. I also like that it's available through Subscribe & Save for additional cost savings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ingredients: Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Acrylates Crosspolymer, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Aluminum Hydroxide

Like another reviewer mentioned, this product is a makeup BASE. Personally, I don't go into it too hard with the difference between base and primer because a smoother base usually leads to smoother product application which leads to longer wear, but there are some differences. Primers/bases that are packaged in small jars (vs tubes or pump-based jars) tend to be thicker, and for me, these products are better for the heavy-duty use of creating the perfect pre-makeup canvas. It's really good for fine line filling and smoothing of the skin. For me, I have this patch of skin underneath my left cheek bone that will NOT take bronzer or contour (it ends up looking so patchy even while using the highest quality bronzers and brushes) and this base completely eliminates that problem and allows my contour powder to glide on, taking tons of time off of my blending process and helping my contour look snatched. One thing I feel like people should keep in mind is that you need to change your primer application based on the consistency of the primer. It really wouldn't make sense for you to use as much of this primer as you would use something more diluted/malleable/liquidy, like a Smashbox or Mineral Veil. This is how I use this base. - Prep face with half of the face cream I would normally use in my routine. My daily face cream is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. - Take out a rice grain size of the Magic Perfecting Base and put it on the back of my palm. - Take out the other half of the face cream I would normally use and lightly mix it with the Perfecting Base to dilute. You can do this with a tool if you're picky but I just use a clean finger. Don't use too much cream here (half of dimesize is good). - Smooth the mixture onto your face, focusing on the areas that you need smoothing most. - Using a slightly damp beauty blender or sponge (or the trusty clean finger, whatever!), GENTLY PRESS THE PRODUCT INTO YOUR SKIN!! You don't have to press hard or anything, but just help the primer to settle and make itself home on your face and lodge itself within the mini-craters that are your pores and fine lines. This step will make the "balling" mentioned in negative reviews a nonissue, though I really suspect those reviewers applied too much product in the first place. TBH, you should be doing this step with ANY primer/base. - Wait like a minute or two for it to dry and set. Proceed as normal with your makeup application!

I am slightly over 50 and have tried at least 20 foundation primers (all of the major brands- since primers became popular) and asside from Benefit's Porefessional (which is awesome for summer when you don't want to wear a foundation at all) the Loreal Magic Perfectjng Base is by far one of my favorites. I have used products three times more expensive than this one and they don't even come close. Loreal's Magic perfecting base is a thick and creamy product that smooths skin and highlights my face in all the right places. Typically, I actually put is on as a highlighter (under eyes, above the brow bone, down the nose and across the cheek bones, and when I add foundation. The "brightness" of the base shines through. I live a very busy life, sometimes working 12 hour per day; with activities and family time after work, and this product helps to keep my skin looking fresh and light all day long. It's really a beautiful product and I'm so glad to be able to purchase it now through Amazon.

Great primer, soft and dry, half the pea size covers entire face; keeps foundation and powder for a longer period. Goes very smoothly on the face and works very well over sunscreen and acts a protective layer by avoiding greasy feeling. I use over the sunscreen and go for workout, do not apply any foundation or powder. Gives matte finish even without foundation and further makeup. Other times I use foundation and makeup after this primer. Can be used just with moisturizer, moisturizer and sunscreen, or with all the steps of makeup.

I am absolutely in love with this product! I've tried a million primers and this is as advertised - MAGIC. It's a knockoff of the tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer, which goes for $39 at Sephora. You won't regret this purchase! Some other reviews have mentioned it flaking, I haven't had that issue at all - perhaps they put on too much. A little goes a long way! My makeup glides on and stays all day - I've never, ever had that experience before - usually by afternoon I look like I never put on foundation that day. Not anymore!

I had to review this right away because I am shook. I have really sensitive, pale skin with freckles and my skin type is patches of oily and extremely dry skin. I have tried a lot of primers in the $5-$40 range and just settled for them being mediocre because I wanted to protect my skin. This primer is so different. For one, a little goes a long way for coverage. Second, it gives my shiny face an amazing matte look. Third, even though it is silicone-based it doesn't interact badly with my other makeup. Most importantly, I feel comfortable just using this and maybe some mascara if I am running late. If I keep adding more layers maybe I'll eventually look like I'm 19 again hah! So excited!
