These work fantastic for female rats

These work fantastic for female rats!! Our rattie babies love this pod and they can be found both curled up inside sharing the space. I place fleece scraps in it for bedding and chose to have it hang from the top of their cage. Females are typically smaller then males, so it may fit them better, but it is a good size for female rats. The product is made of 2 sturdy plastic pieces which clip together. I had no issues putting them together, nor have I had any issues with them staying together. It has 3 attached clips on the feet that slip onto the rungs of the cage, and they have never slipped or came loose. The pod is very sturdy and does not fall apart, come loose or move under the weight of our two rats.

Pods Rule! I couldn't imagine being without them!

I love pods and so do my pet rats! Every rat owner that I know, who has one, has happy rats who like to see how many can squeeze into it. For full sized rats THIS IS NOT THE SIZE TO BUY! I have the large ones for them. I have this size for my dwarf rats only. You want this for smaller rodents, such as hamsters, gerbils, mice and such. Mine love it hanging from the top of the cage but the aforementioned pocket pets usually prefer it on the bottom, like in the photo from Amazon. Be sure to clean regularly as some pets like to pee in it. If they do, wipe it out with a damp cloth or paper towels and dry daily and take out and scrub weekly, at least. If you use it on the floor of the cage and your pet puts bedding in it, be sure they are not peeing and/or pooping in it. If they are, you should dump the bedding daily or AT LEAST every other day. If you don't know this NEVER use pine or cedar shavings as they contain phenols which are toxic, especially for rats, they will, over time, cause lung scarring and respiratory problems and other organs will be affected too. If you insist on using shavings kiln dried Aspen is the only kind that does not contain phenols. Though I would still recommend putting a soft bedding on top of them. Imagine yourself sleeping on wood shavings. Plus the dust from them can get in tiny eyes and be uncomfortable and scratch them. Use a natural unscented bedding ( corncob bedding is dangerous too ). Just a bit of education with my review! These pods are awesome! Wouldn't be without them for my fur babies. Side note : I have one hanging in my mice cage and will find 7 females in a mouse pile in it! Absolutely adorable!

Rats love it!

I don't know what the deal with rats and space pods is, but they LOVE them. My boys sleep in it all the time, either alone or piled on top of one another. This is the second one I've purchased. Now there's one in the bottom of their cage and one in the top. Both get used daily. My boys especially like to drag paper towel/fleece/bedding into the space pod so that they can nest. These are easy to install in a cage and just as easy to take out and apart, making them very easy to keep clean. I would highly, highly recommend this product.

Great small animal hidey spot.

My rat Wash loves his pod. It is made of plastic and is easy to clean. I was worried upon opening it that it wasn't sturdy enough, but it hangs up very sturdy. It doesn't move or wobble at all. It fits 1 large rat very well and I could picture a couple of smaller ones in it. It can be hung up from the ceiling or set on the bottom. I haven't tried it on the floor of the cage yet because Wash likes it so well on top. He loves to drag his fleece blankets into it and snuggle up. My rat approves!

I love it and they love it!

My rats absolutely LOVE this product! I have 2 of them and they are my rat's favorite sleeping area. I like that you can either hang on stand these up, it just adds a little bit of variety to your cage. And they are very sturdy, I never worry about them falling. Three of my rats have slept in 1 pod together and it held strong! You can add some soft bedding or not, either way they seem to be comfortable! Oh, and it's easy to clean so good for us critter owners! I would say definitely get one of these items for your critter, they'll feel spoiled and safe!

A must have for Rat owners!

I had bought this for my five girls, they're all very chubby rats! I have heard a lot about the space pods or sputniks and had been wanting one for a while but have found that it was difficult to find any especially ranging in sizes and colors. It's very limit in terms of decoration but the space pod is still very cute. My girls really adore it and as much as 4 of them crowd up inside at once. I tend to switch around where I keep it. I have a critter nation so some weeks I have it hanging from the ceiling and some weeks I have it placed on the ground. It's a fairly versatile item and a must have for rat owners. It can take a bit of weight considering 4 of my five girls are super chubby and are more male sized.

My rats love the space pod, they constantly either fight for who gets to be in there or just shove themselves all in there depending on their mood 😂 it’s easy to install into our cage and it’s easy to clean. Will buy more.

Excellent!

We have two of these pods for the four of us rats. We love them! Our human has the pods hanging from the top of our cage. Usually two of us will go in each pod, but sometimes all four of us will squish into one which our human thinks is very cute. Each morning and evening she rips a couple paper towels to use as bedding in the pods. She has tried filling them with our normal bedding but we always push it out and make a mess. Can't Live Without Our Space Pods!

We could not function without our Space Pods! This is a staple in my rat cage. My boys frequently choose their space pods over hammocks for sleeping, cuddling, or just hanging out. The Lixit Space Pods are made so well too! They last forever. I'm still using two Space Pods from my previous girls group and then bought two new ones to add even more sleeping and hiding spots to the boy's cage. I also love that you can either put them on he floor or hang them upside down from the top of the cage. I don't completely trust the hanging feet though, so I actually put metal hanging hooks through the holes in the feet in order to hang my Space Pods from the top of the cage. That makes them very secure and able to hold the weight of all my boys when they decide to all get in there at once. I also love how easy they are to clean. Simply wipe them down with a wet cloth or baby wipes and they're good as new. My only request for the company is that they start making these in an Extra Large size. The Lixit Space Pod Large IS the largest of all the sputnik type space pods, but when you've got 4 big boys like I do, it would be awesome to have a bigger one. I also wish they came in different colors. Some of the other companies offer different colors, but they're smaller than the Lixit one is, so I never order those. I'd love to have a choice of colors.
