This is a great product. I have a couple of the lemon juicers already but sometimes I have oranges that are too large for that one. I had some trouble determining if this one really is larger than the lemon juicer. Yep...it is. I'll include a photo for comparison. As for durability, one of my lemon juicers did split at the hinge after a couple of years of pretty vigorous use. But the kind folks at Chef'n happily replaced it for me. The other lemon juicer (also a couple of years old) is chugging along with no problems.

Pellegrino and lime. Perrier and lemon. Spicy Thai Lime & Pepper Chicken Tender sandwiches. Scottish Chicken Noodle soup with Lemon and Egg. Crepes with sugar and lemon! Lemon Squares, baby!!! I'm telling you... my kitchen needed this tool. I am never without a stack of fresh lemons and limes—or a recipe I'm wanting to use them in—and having to squeeze them by hand, squidge them endlessly with an old hand juicer or wrangle with them any of the million odd ways I found while trying to get the juice out completely and quickly just made life... well, sad and colorless. So many ways to use my pile of citrus and no way to do it quickly often left my life without the zest I desired it to have. (Read: I am soooo lazy!) No more. This lovely little piece of work does it well, does it FAST, and does it better than anything I've tried before (except perhaps for a good old fashioned wooden reamer, but that takes effort!). We love it so much in our household, that we grabbed the orange juicer as well (a bit of a beast but still faster than normal orange juicing—so yay! more fresh juice in the morning for lazy me!). We haven't even bothered assigning the Lemon Juicer a storage location since it always seems to be sitting out on the counter cheerfully awaiting its next task. We're sneaky and juice the little green limees in here, too. (If you're juicing more than one lime and really need every last drop ...flip one already-squeezed lime on it's head, so to speak, and use it to add a little pressure for the next lime... works a cinch when you're in a hurry and need lots of lime in your Spanish Chorizo and Thai-spiced Ramen Noodles!) Perhaps when I get a bigger kitchen we'll splurge on the lime juicer as well. Meanwhile, my kitchen has that splash of color it so needed, my food has a zing that makes the neighbors jealous, and I can juice to my heart's content while barely raising my pulse ...and get quickly back to sitting on my bum. Thank you, Chef'n!!!

A must have. Coming from a particularly tidy cook, no more seeds, juice or mess on the counter but instead every drop of juice goes where you want it -- in the foods you're preparing! Sturdy and very, very easy to clean. A lemon-lovers dream. Do not hesitate. Use those lemons piling up in the fridge and drying up -- it's easy. (Even works with oranges). Consider getting the Microplane 40020 Classic Zester/Grater as an accompaniment for the zest. You can not go wrong.

First of all, this thing is the best hand juicer I've used (and I've used plenty) in terms of ease of use and juice extraction. It also lasts much much longer than the cast iron ones, which don't work as well in the first place. Unfortunately, it still breaks. In this case the plastic breaks down/gets brittle and snaps from repeated stress. This lasted me over three years and probably saw the demise of 3-400 limes and lemons, it worked well. It's difficult, bordering impossible to clean the mechanical portion of the lever, which I also hypothesize leads to the structural failure. That being said - I contacted Chef'n customer service and they fulfilled their warrantee promise (that I did not even realized they had) and replaced the juicer for FREE - including shipping. Awesome experience for an already incredible product!

After reading many reviews, I opted for the lime green colored product, since I seem to be partial to that color nowadays and since several of the reviewers confirmed that the yellow and green juicers were identical in all ways except the color. And, with the 20% off clip-a-coupon, the price came out to less than the yellow one anyway. This is a beautiful juicer and sooo easy to use, even with achy hands/fingers. No more need to drag out the electric juicer or try to find the reamer, which requires force to use and doesn't work nearly as quickly, nor is either of those as easy to clean as this baby. This juicer is made of super-sturdy plastic that not only looks good but cleans up very quickly and easily. Mostly just under running water should do it. Although, the shiny bowl may need a touch of soap every now and again, because the citrus oils will stick to it from the peels. The inner plastic bowl has 8 spaced, concentric rings that serve to better grip the lemon or lime. Actually, the bowl is large enough to accommodate the smaller-sized varieties of oranges too. Also, the openings to let the juice through are narrow enough to trap most of the seeds. The only one that got through with mine, so far, was a seed that got sliced in half when I cut the lemon. And those same openings are so positioned that when you rest the bowl of the juicer over a glass or cup, there will be no squirting outside of the receptacle. The product is very heavy-duty but also light enough for a child to maneuver easily. The smooth matte surface makes it easy to grip and it even has two little nubs on the bottom so it will stay steady and won't roll off the counter when set down. Nicely engineered in every way. Looks good, feels good, works good (works "well". I know, I know... but where’s the poetry then?) :)

I am Italian and my boyfriend is Salvadorian, which means our kitchen is a central point in our home. Both of our cultures prepare food with a lot flavor, so we find ourselves finely chopping and squeezing produce on a daily basis. Because we enhance so many of our meals with lemon or lime juice we wanted to buy a hand held citrus juicer that could withstand daily use. The first one we bought broke after two weeks. We did some research and ordered the Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer; two years later we are still happily squeezing all the lemons and limes we get our hands on! Effectiveness The dual-gear design of this juicer increases the power when you squeeze the handles together. This feature is the main differences between this product and other hand held citrus juicers on the market. How I have experienced this is that I get more juice from the fruit while using less effort. When I take the juiced lemon out it has almost dry pulp left on the rind which indicates that all the juice has been squeezed from that lemon. Usually it would take a forceful grip to get that result with other hand held juicers. Durability Every time I use our juicer it feels like it is brand new. There is no feeling or indication that it is losing its function or becoming less stable. I use this juicer for on average four meals a week, using 3 lemons or limes each meal; cut those citrus in half to juice them and once could calculate that I operate this juicer on average 24 times a week. That is roughly 96 times a month and 1,152 times in one year...holiday dishes not included! I have owned and used this juicer at this pace for two years and it is as effective and sturdy as the day FedEx placed it on my porch. In the event that I manage to break this product it comes with a lifetime warranty. Materials The rounded handles, gears and juice filter are made of a hard plastic which the company states is BPA and melamine free. The screws and press are sturdy metal. The metal does increase the weight of the product, however it is still easily held and operated in one hand. Ours has gone through the dishwasher high temp wash and heat dry cycle with no damage, melting or morphing. Cleaning As mentioned above I have cleaned this juicer in a high temperature dishwasher and it has held its integrity. Most often I hand wash it because the product is easy to thoroughly clean. The gear opens to an angle that allows easy sponge access to all of the juicer's parts. Rinsing the juice, pulp and soap away is also made easy because of the open angle allowed by the gear. There are no pieces of this product that you can not fully see accept for where two stabilizing screws fix the press to the handles. I like that I can see all of the parts in case pulp is caught somewhere and needs to be rinsed away. Overall its design reduces the chance of bacterial breeding grounds. Storage The juicer fits easily in our 3” high drawer. The bottom of the juice filter has two nodules which help prop the juicer upright and keep it from sliding all over or jamming the drawer.

I have an orange tree and a dwarf lemon so I squeeze a lot of citrus. Citrus blesses with a long harvest and a lot of that is going to lemon bitters with water and orange. Love this thing. My liver loves it. No more cursed aluminum! It would be great for magaritas, but is also great anytime you need to reduce any kind of citrus to juice. The stainless steel part is really heavy and the nylon isn't aluminum. There is a little bit of give to the nylon teeth. Rather than squish too hard which may stress the press too much, fold the citrus in half and re-squish to extract all. I like the lemon size as I can use this with lemons, oranges as well as limes with no problem. Some oranges need to be cut a little smaller is all. I paid $11.49 for mine. I think it was a deal!

I first bought the larger orange size after contemplating for weeks. But I rarely juiced oranges and it was so darn big (not to mention the seeds always popped through the holes into the juice). So I bought this one and love it. You still have to be careful not to squeeze too fast or juice will squirt out the top, but I've owned (and broken) many other types and feel like this one gives me the best leverage for juicing and won't break so easily. Sometime, when I juice limes with it, I cut the limes in half and then slice an "x" pattern across the center so it turns inside out better and gets out more juice.

So far I'm impressed. This seems to be extracting a significant amount of juice without excessive force, and cleanup is not too difficult. I am not especially pleased by a deep channel along the handle, but as long as I quickly rinse it after using it doesn't seem like an issue. That said, I have concerns about whether or not this thing is going to hold up over time. The plastic definitely doesn't give me a feeling of absolute confidence like my other juicer, an all-stainless model, does. --- UPDATE, 18 months later: The juicer is still in service and working quite well. The stainless one mentioned above? It's now broken; one of the joints snapped as I was juicing an especially thick lemon one evening. I put the same lemon into the FreshForce and it did the job just fine. So I'm totally sold on this thing. I am upgrading my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars.
