Home theater essential
Movie night is a huge family time. When my new home had a media room, I decided to get a popcorn popper. This has the size and the price that I was looking for. I've used it for 3+ months now and it's been an essential part of our family movie nights. It just adds that extra something to make it an "event". I bought the Great Northern Popcorn to use with it. It's OK but I like Orville better. Also the colored powered is a little artificial looking so I know it's probably giving it it's color. I might try a container of Orville with a separate coconut oil container and measure out myself. Cleaning I thought would have been the biggest issue. I've figured out how to put the machine in the kitchen and use a wet rag to wipe out all the insides. I clean it after every 4-5 uses. It takes maybe 20m to clean everything. The writing is already coming off the front doors. The popcorn plastic containers I threw out b/c the red writing started to come off. There really lacks any good popcorn containers out there, they are just not big enough. I didn't get the wagon stand which looked cheesy and lacked a flat surface to put anything. I ended up buying to small red metal lockers for like $15 each on sale at IKEA that looks perfect underneath. Almost same red color and one fits under the popper and the other is a flat surface for containers, etc.

I had to laugh...
Extremely easy to use, and with the right ingredients (Coconut oil and Flavacol), tastes EXACTLY like Movie Theater popcorn! In fact, I had to laugh in disbelief that I just made movie theater popcorn. I highly recommend purchasing Snappy Butter Burst, too, to give your popcorn that ultimate theater taste. You will not be disappointed with this machine. Clean up is a breeze. Great product. A nice treat for any home cinema ...or popcorn lovers.

I’ve had it for about a month now and this thing is awesome! It’s easy to set up
So I searched and searched for just the right popcorn popper, and I believe I found it. I’ve had it for about a month now and this thing is awesome! It’s easy to set up, easy to use and easy to clean. The directions are written right on the glass door as to proportions of oil and popcorn, order to turn switches on, etc. I love that this machine included the scoop and popcorn containers- less accessories to buy. I followed other people’s recommendations and use coconut oil and it tastes great. I’ve used a couple different brands of popcorn and haven’t noticed much of a difference. We’re growing popcorn in our garden right now to use with this machine and I’m hoping that works out as well. I usually make batches with a slightly heaping Tbsp of coconut oil and about 3/4c. of popcorn. It works great every time! The one thing I’ve noticed that differs with what the manufacturer recommends, is that our machine doesn’t need to be heated for as long as they say before adding the kernels. 1-2 minutes seems to work best. If you want that authentic movie theater taste, you’ll need Flavacol and Kernal Seasons butter flavoring. A little sprinkle of each goes a loooong way so be modest and add more as needed. We have used this popper at least 20x since we got it and every batch has been delicious. I highly recommend it!

Perfect in every way possible!
It arrived upside down : ( I was concerned that it was broken but it was in perfect condition because it was so well packed! Each item was packed so well, that it took a while to cut the cardboard carefully so as not to damage the articles inside. I did not mind at all that it took this time to unpack it! Good for you the manufacturer! WELL DONE! The popcorn was excellent. I used the small measuring (1/2 oz) spoon with coconut oil, let it get really hot (it was steaming) and then carefully added the popcorn. I used Jolly Time Popcorn and it popped up small, but fluffy white kernels. There were no "old maids"! This is a present to myself and I am thrilled. I am a BIG popcorn eater. Finally I have a popcorn maker that makes wonderful popcorn and I don't have to go to the movies to get it and pay $4.50 to $7.00 each bag! What else is included: Oh, and that reminds me, I also received a supply of cute red and white paper, popcorn bags and 3 plastic reusable rectangle containers that are also red and white, there are two scoops: one white plastic and one larger metal professional looking scoop with a metal handle that is covered with a plastic protector for your hand.

Amazing Popcorn
I decided to purchase this popcorn maker for an event that I was in charge of for work as opposed to renting a similar one for 35% - 40% of the cost. The fact that it came with a warranty was a huge positive and one of the deciding factors. (3-year warranty on the machine and a 30 day limiited warranty on all consumable parts including kettles and/or light bulbs). We definitely made the right decision. We were pleased when the machine arrived earlier than expected. It was also packaged very well. Included were some popcorn bags, a large serving scoop, and a few smaller measuring cups and spoons. They also included two plastic popcorn holders which are really cute. It is very easy to use, worked well the first time we made popcorn (we were expecting it to burn a little with first time use) and the clean-up was quick. The popcorn is AMAZING!

Couldn't be HAPPIER~!!
I couldn't be HAPPIER~!!! My Popper arrived today in perfect condition~!! Assembly was simple and with in 15 minutes we were popping our first batch. By the third batch using only what we had on hand ( organic coconut oil, white Jiffy Corn & a little table salt) the popcorn was coming out fluffier, lighter and crunchier~!! Can NOT wait until the popcorn seasoning and yellow coconut oil arrive tomorrow for the real "MOVIE THEATER" flavor...I am In 7th heaven~!!! The machine arrived in PERFECT condition....no dents, dings or issues.... A++++++++++++ little machine...Perfect for our needs~!!

Glad I upgraded, , but don’t leave the heater on
I teach high school math. This year I have 5 classes of remedial math. As an incentive, I throw popcorn parties to the classes with the highest test avarrage each quarter. I had a small 2.5 Nostolgia kettle popper, but I found that to take a long time to pop the amount needed for a class of students. I decided to upgrade. I really wanted the largest 12 or 16 oz popper, but my bank account said, hmmm, maybe the 8 oz will be good enough. This thing is awesome. While I did still pop the whole period, I did feel like the batches were large enough to get ahead of the curve. I was able to make enough quickly to where students were able to have refills as soon as they wanted them and still have enough ready for when the next class arrived. I popped for all of my classes today as a bonus for getting a good report from my sub. So my machine got a good work out on its christening day. My only caveat is don’t leave the warmer on. I left mine on, as per the instructions, (warmer on while running the kettle) and the bottom metal piece burned. I’ve attached pics. A little bummed about that mishap on opening day. Next time I just won’t worry about the warmer. Clean up was so easy compared to my old unit. Having glass sides is a huge plus when it comes to clean up. I wasn’t thrilled that small bits of popcorn were wedged between the metal frame and glass sides, but found I was able to wedge it out using a tooth pick. Other than the burn, it cleaned up like new. I’m very happy with my purchase and hope it lasts me through the next time years until I retire. Lol. What a difference having an 8oz kettle made. If I didn’t get too impatient and dump the kettle too early, most kernels popped. I did find that my new bag of kernels from Sams club popped better than the generic brand I had previously purchased from Walmart did. So your ingredients will also dictate how well your popcorn turns out.

Highly recommend!
JUST LIKE THE THEATER. I love this machine. Super easy to use. I bought the pre measured popcorn packets to go along with it. There is a LOT in those 6 oz packets! Comes with the scooper, 3 plastic (thin) movie theater popcorn buckets and paper ones too. This thing is great !

Great little machine for a home theater
We've had this machine for just under a year now and I LOVE it. Easy to use, fast, efficient popping, simple clean up. Like many reviewing, ours did come with a broken warming bulb as well - Great Northern REALLY needs to do something about that - there's no reason it should be shipped screwed into place instead of in a separate padded box. That aside (I still haven't replaced mine because figuring out the size was a hassle and they wanted proof of purchase to replace it) Everything else is perfect on this. I use it a couple of times a week in our home theater. Our recipe - turn on the kettle. give it a few seconds to start heating and add 1.6 Tablespoons of Coconut oil, turn on the stirrer, then add four kernels of unpopped corn. Once those pop, I add 1/2 teaspoon of FLAVACOL, let the stirrer move that around a rotation or two, then pour in 3/4-1c of popcorn, usually white and yellow mixed. at the end of the popping cycle, turn off, dump the popper and stir to distribute the grannies. Then add a bit of superfine salt or, if you're feeling decadent, a splash of butter and some Nooch (Nutrtional Yeast) Then start your terrible horror movie and dim the lights.
