I almost didn't purchase this because of the few bad reviews. I wasn't sure if would stick to the tub, but I went with the majority who said it works, and I'm so glad I did. My husband loves baths and I purchased this mainly for him because he's a big person and every little bit of extra water depth he can get is wonderful. You can really get an extra two to three inches as one reviewer said. I don't understand what the others giving bad reviews were talking about. The suction cups fit easily on the tub and you don't have to use much pressure at all. They stick as soon as you push a little and you can even hear a little "click" sound as you push each one, telling you it's sealed. Our cover never "floats off" or comes off the tub until we take it off, and when we do, it is easily removed. As far as the hole in the cover that another reviewer mentioned, you have to put the cover on with the hole on top so the water won't drain out!! All in all, a great purchase!

Baths have changed for me forever now! I can actually FILL THE TUB and not hear that dreaded sound of half my water (and my expensive magnesium flakes, essential oils, organic bubble baths and other fancy therapeutic ingredients) tragically vanishing down the drain. If you're a larger person trying to fit in a smaller tub, especially, you know... THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. Now I can take more baths, enjoy more relaxing warm coziness... all because of this little bit of silicone! Be careful if you have a refinished tub, as I do... remove those suctions SUPER gently and don't let them stick on too hard. Technically you're not supposed to use suctions with a refinished tub.

We moved from a rental with a lovely deep tub to our first house, which was an upgrade in every way... except for the wretched, shallow bath tub. As someone who de-stresses by reading in the bath, this was a frustrating situation. After browsing (in horror) the cost of local bathroom remodel options, and making the unfortunate choice to seal the overflow drain with plumber's putty (here's a tip: don't freaking do this lol) I violently plunged the airlock I had caused out of the pipes, got the tub draining again, and turned to Amazon. This drain cover has lasted many long baths in very hard water, endured added bath crystals, and never failed me once. It gains me a precious few inches of water depth and stays put until it's removed, even adhering to this cheap textured plastic failure of a tub. As a sanity-saving measure, it's absolutely five stars. Buy with confidence and enjoy, fellow bathers!

Genius invention. I have a lot of joint issues, so being able to float my limbs in a deep hot bath just feels heavenly. I have a decently deep garden tub, but I'm also not exactly a short girl, so I had to choose between either top half or bottom half of me being mostly in the water. I kept thinking "gosh if I could get just a few more inches of water" and was on the verge of getting rid of the overflow plate (to my husband's horror) when I came across this. Don't apply it to a wet tub surface...it won't work. Don't apply it with the suction cups dry...it won't work. Don't apply it with its overflow hole facing down, because duhhh. Follow the instructions and run warm water over the suction cups, then apply them to the dry tub surface. At least with my tub, the suction cups make a satisfying little "snap" sound when you press lightly in the middle of each one, and that's how I know they adhered. I'm able to take about 5 baths before the suction gives up and I need to re-apply the cover, but it's quick and easy. Number of baths between re-application may vary for you depending on tub surface. Fabulous...the only problem I have now is remembering not to lie down too quickly in the deep water so it won't flood in a tidal wave over the back part of the tub!

Best $8 I ever spent! I moved from a house with a deep soaker tub to a house with regular standard tub. :/ I was about to start looking to remodel the bathroom and get a deeper tub. That is actually how I found this product simply on a Google search. So I got this yesterday and was so excited about trying it that I couldn't wait to test it out. I applied it to the tub last night, I was concerned about the rounded edge above the overflow valve, similar to the picture here in the product advertisement. It worked though. I made sure I took heed of the other reviews and my tub was dry, I wetted the suction cups and applied them one at a time. I filled that tub WAY up almost where it would overflow and not one single drop leaked into this apparatus! I was so surprised and for the first time in three months I was able to take a hot bath for more than 10 mins cuz all the water would leak out the overflow....the water covered me almost completely! Without this device I would never have been able to say this. Thank you to the genius who thought this up! Hopefully it continues to work for a long time to come. Loved it so much I immediately bought another one for my elderly mother who lives in an apartment with a standard tub too! Total game changer!!!!

This simple little thing turns my sad little apartment tub into a proper soaking tub for long, relaxing baths. I didn't have the same issues noted by several reviewers about installation - just dip it in water and press the suction cups to the wall of your tub. Mine stays up without any issues. I do suggest removing this between baths, especially if yours gets any water in it while you're filling your tub - it will hold water and grow mold if allowed to sit around damp.

I would die without a good bath. It's an absolute must. We just moved into a new home and the bathtubs are *SO* shallow. My soul was slowly being ripped to pieces while soaking in a measly 7" of water. Devastating! It will be a while until we can afford to remodel the bathrooms, so I needed to find an alternative solution before I cracked. This product seriously improved the quality of my life. It's a softer, malleable plastic than I originally thought, but convenient for different shaped tubs since it will mold easier. All I have to do to turn my nightmare tub into a dream was to run the suction cups under the faucet and snap the suction cups into place over the bath drain. It was so easy! I got an instant 5" more of water!! For $8?! I think yes!!! Crowds applauded and cried, it was beautiful. After each bath I remove the drain cover and hang it from my shower caddy to dry out. I'm all seriousness, I'm pretty impressed and happy this worked out so well. I saw a few reviewers had issues with the suction cups not sticking, and I'm not sure why. I have a standard porcelain-enameled cast iron tub, and have no issues (it is so easy). One person wrote they had issues with mold in their drain cover, so that is why I remove and hang it up after each bath to dry it thoroughly. Good luck fellow Bathians! I hope this review helps!

I was hesitant to get this due to some negative reviews. I thought it worked wonderful. Using this honestly created the best bath I've had in such a long time because our tub is small and our overflow is set pretty low. The only thing I can think of the negative reviewers is that either they aren't getting the suction cups wet before putting it on their tub or their tub simply does not work with this whether it is from the angle or texture of the tub. Edit:do not leave this on your tub at all times. It should be taken off between uses to prevent mold from forming.

Works exactly as advertised! Was able to fill up my bathtub much higher and did not have any problems. No leaking and the suction cups work great once you run them under some warm water. Best 5$ I've ever spent.
