UPDATE: I took my son out to play in somewhat heavy rain and felt tiny droplets of water. Looked up and the inside of the umbrella was WET! It kept me mostly dry, but still got a tad bit wet. I NEEDED an umbrella that'll fit my whole family and keep us all dry. This umbrella is perfect. It did it all. Kept us dry, big enough to fit 4 people, and held up against gusty winds. There's 2 straps to keep the umbrella rolled up, a bag to hold the umbrella (it's a little snug) with a handle, and a padded handle.

As an educator, I go to the playground a lot during the week, and this umbrella was a life saver. I used it for the sun protection as well as wind protection. It was 10-15 degrees cooler under this umbrella during those hot afternoons. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who goes outside for any length of time. The size is large which I loved, but might be harder for people walking on crowded streets -- so I would recommend the next smaller size for that environment.

Lovely umbrella. It will be great for summer concerts when we sit in our lawn seats and it rains. Its big enough to cover 2 really big people. So 3 avg size people could fit under it. The color is pretty and designed nice. Its is a huge umbrella The color is yellow and a light gold. Not white and yellow. Amazon needs to do a better job of describing colors of products they sell.

I bought this umbrella 2 years ago after getting baked to a deep lobster red while watching the Jones beach air show. I swore: never again! So I researched the best way to protect myself without something too bulky or combersom and decided on a umbrella. This umbrella is wide enough to protect me and my husband with our chairs together. I attached the metal rod to my sports chair with zip ties and didn't have to worry about the wind or the sun. The wind deflects nicely up and out of the top, and not only does the canopy completely shade you from the sun, but it's about 5 degrees cooler under its protection. You don't have to "turn" your chair like I see some people do with sports chairs with attached canopies, and it conveniently fits in my sports chair bag. I tried fussy gadgets to attach the umbrella to my chair that were a COMPLETE waste of my money. I toss a few zip ties and a large nail clipper inside my chair holster and my day is stress free. My husband was so impressed with my foresight and ingenuity that I'm purchasing another umbrella fo him to use, and he's already put zip ties with his chair bag so he's ready. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for sun protection.

I walk my dog during the heat of the day sometimes as the suns coming up (wear flip flops and always test various pavements to make sure i'm not burning his little paws on the concrete). He's so high energy we have to go on 2-3 walks a day at least... So this was absolutely a necessity to keep us out of the sun! I also take it places like the zoo too! Every now and again I see fellow umbrella people at the zoo on a sunny day.. Haha. Others don't know what they're missing!

Probably hands down the best umbrella I've ever owned! People are always asking me around New Orleans why am I carrying an umbrella when it's not going to rain and others comment, "There's a smart man; he's carrying his shade!" Also many inquire where I bought the "BIG @SS Umbrella," and I'm very happy to show them the SunTek logo on the bottom of the handle and that I bought it on Amazon. Also I have them step under it to feel the difference in perceived heat! I really should carry the seller's business cards! One person ordered the umbrella on the spot with his Amazon App. After I left my original purchase at The Biltmore Estate while visiting, I immediately ordered a replacement when they informed me my umbrella did not show up in lost & found. I wonder why... it's a darned good umbrella and someone is enJoying my original purchase! 😎☂️

Silly me. The fact that this is a golf umbrella did not compute when I ordered this. I knew it was a big umbrella which is what I thought I wanted for my long morning walks in the relentless summer sun. The bright blue with the silver is very handsome. I was surprised when the umbrella arrived in a box that would easily fit a golf club or fishing rod. And when I pulled the umbrella out of the box I realized that only someone built like Paul Bunyan would have the strength to hold it above his head for 90 minutes most every day. It is an impressive and very solidly made umbrella and I am sure it would be useful and a relief from the sun for any golfer or person who doesn't have to hold it up for a long period of time The price seems very reasonable for what you get--if it's what you need. I ordered something smaller and I hope that it's as beautifully made as this one is.

We bought 3 these, one in blue, green and yellow. They are longer than I expected, about 3’ft Long so they didn’t fit in any of our suitcases. These umbrellas are very sturdy, well made and handsome! They have drawn attention every where we have been! (We had to ask special permission to take these on the plane since they didn’t fit in our suitcases, they were allowed because they pointed ends were plastic not metal). We have been using these for 2 months in the extremely hot sun here in Belize and now into the rainy season. They have held up wonderfully! Our eleven year old daughter finds it a little heavy to use. But the umbrella is big enough to shield most of your body from the sun and they are big enough for two average size adults to fit under. We couldn’t survive without them! Of all the things we bought with us to Belize these have been one of the most valuable purchases!

I bought this 2 years ago primarily as a sun shade for hiking in very hot/sunny and treeless areas of the western US. I'd owned a less well built golf umbrella, that, despite its weaknesses, served me pretty well for one season. This is far and away superior to my old one. First, the reflective mylar top is amazing at keeping you cooler underneath, and much better at blocking out the UV. Secondly, the wind gusset/venting system is phenomenal. My first non Suntek cheapy died in a moderate gust of wind. I limped through and finished the vacation with it, but it had broken pieces and less coverage. Thirdly, the fiberglass construction gives some peace of mind when there is lightning threatening. Fourthly, I cant believe the amazing price. After owning one for a couple of years -- still going strong and surviving many, many high wind gusts -- I can say the quality of materials, design, and workmanship are second to none. I would gladly pay much more if necessary to get something this well thought out. I use it as a trekking pole when not overhead, and it really doesn't weigh enough more than a carbon fiber pole for me to notice any difference. On the ground, augmented with a 15D silnylon rain poncho, I can quickly setup a 360 degree storm or overnight shelter in a pinch. Versatile, strong, light, inexpensive -- simply amazing. Way to go, Suntek! I'll be doing some hiking with my wife and my niece on different trips this summer, and I'm buying another for them to use, and so that I'll have a spare, just in case. Just get one of these. You will not be sorry!

I was hesitant in ordering an umbrella specifically for the sun because I was not entirely sure that it would make as much of a difference in the heat as worth the trouble of carrying around and managing an umbrella. I have a golf cart that I push around while I play disc golf and I bought an arm mount for it that can hold an umbrella for sun shade. I was not sure if this umbrella or the entire idea itself would work out but I decided to give it a shot because it gets so hot down here that every now and then some shade is nice. This umbrella went above my expectations. Since I mount it to my cart, I am under it while I pushing the cart which is frequently through the course and that gives me enough time under it to notice a difference. Let me just say, it's REALLY nice! The top is reflective which I assume reflects the light and thus a lot of the heat ( I'm not a scientist ). The bottom is blue which I think goes a long way to make you feel cool as blue is a cooling water color. Also, the handle fits perfect into my umbrella mount and even has a flat edge on two sides which allows it to be braced in the mount more properly than a rounded handle. I recommend this product for mounting to a golf cart or jogger like I have, and I also recommend it to be used as a carry umbrella for the sun because it is not heavy or cumbersome at all.
