Automatic open and close is an essential feaatur for me. Love this umbrella!

This sun umbrella is great for the Texas summer heat. I love the automatic open and close. Wouldn’t do without it now. The automatic open feature works when the umbrella shaft has been fully closed; simply push the close button, press the tip of the umbrella to a hard surface (I use the floor of my car), and push down on the shaft. You are then ready to reopen automatically when you need it. I never get sun ir rain when leaving my car, or when re-entering. It offers full protection.

very sturdy umbrella

This umbrella is very well made, has a really nice weight to it, a little heavier than most cheep flimsy umbrellas of similar size. has a lifetime warranty and the company will actually contact you within 24 hours if your umbrella has any issues!! This is huge because i've read so many reviews of other "lifetime" warranty umbrellas where the company never returns emails or phone calls, therefore making their claims of lifetime warranty null and void, so glad this isn't the case for this umbrella! Totally worth the money! A lot cooler under this umbrella than a regular umbrella and i live in southern California.

A must have sun protector in Florida.

I never step out in the sun without this umbrella. Regular umbrellas block some of the sun but this umbrella blocks out the sun completely and as an extra benefit, it keeps me cool. In Florida you can get a sunburn just walking to the mailbox. I look younger than my age because I protect my skin from the damaging rays of the sun and this umbrella makes it easy. For long walks, or walks on the beach, I use a large golf umbrella with a UV blocker but for everyday use this compact travel umbrella is a must have especially in Florida.

great sun protection

Because I have Lupus, my skin is very sensitive to the sun. I am always looking for good "sun protection" products. This umbrella was fantastic for our recent trip to Puerto Rico. As soon as I put the umbrella up, I felt a noticable cooling sensation, just from being out of the sun's rays. I unfortnuately snagged it on a tree branch while exploring... and got a hole in it. But that was my fault, not the fault of the product.

Well Made Shade

A well constructed and helpful umbrella to protect me from the hottest time of the day. This performs well even under windy conditions. It's turned outwards when it's gusty but it always springs back to its original shape and I don't feel it falling apart. The main thing is knowing how to hold this umbrella so it doesn't get caught up in the blowing wind. It provides nice shade, opens smoothly and fits perfectly in my back pack. The frame is strong and sturdy. I expect it to hold up well even after daily use.

I love that it is compact and can fit in your purse and even in the glove compartment. I definitely recommend this. The UV protection is true to its name. When I use it, especially in Arizona where the sun can really hurt your skin, I don't feel how bad the sun is and it protects my skin.

Great quality for the price !!

Just received this umbrella today , very pleased !! Nice and sturdy. Folds nice for carrying in a purse or bag . It's obvious the uv protection with its reflective silver white exterior and sturdy fabric with a black inside. I've had a basil cell on my head 20 years ago and a cryogenic treatment to the same are for abnormal cells about 2 years ago so a hat is to warm for me but an umbrella is great , the air vent in the top is a big plus if any wind is around!! Very highly recommend!! After I use this umbrella, I might need to update this review if I experience any failure with the mechanics as expressed by other reviewers. I'm going to take precautions opening it so thanks for the warning!!

Best overpriced umbrella I have!

This umbrella is ideal, however it should not cost as much as it does, But hey! If you are looking for sun protection which EVERYONE on the planet should be seeking protection, then this item is for you! You can instantly tell the difference from a regular "rain" umbrella. It is the ultimate in protection, silver to reflect and dark base to deflect. I have done the years of research so you dont have to, go for it! Your skin will thank you!

This umbrella is superior for UV protection

I have long used umbrellas for sun protection. This is the best one I have found so far. There are three main points. First, the top is silver in color and highly reflective. This is good because it does not transmit a lot of heat downward in the hot sun. Some umbrellas are black on top, and that makes no sense if heat is an issue. Second, the underside is black, and that is good. UV radiation reflects from all around just like normal visible light; it does not only come from above. The bright sand on the beach is sending lots of UV in your direction. So the underside should not reflect that UV radiation back down toward you. A blue color is the worst, since blue is very close to UV in the radiation spectrum, and a bright blue underside means that the reflective UV is hitting you. Black is the best since it reflects very little of anything. The third point is that the umbrella works well as a push button collapsible. One push and the umbrella is up and covering you, and another push and it is collapsed. Some other umbrellas do this as well, but this feature in a UV umbrella is nice. It collapses small so I can carry it in my motorcycle bag.

Cool Down in the Sun

I admit that I am new to sun umbrellas, and I am wondering what took me so long. This Sun Grubbies umbrella does a fantastic job of keeping you cooler in the hot sun. We used this in the Chinese desert Northwest. So, the sun was intense. This sun umbrella combines a reflective top and black interior to block UV and visible light. This makes it noticeably cooler under the umbrella. To make life easier, it is an auto open/close. You can then quickly open and close. It was also light enough to carry for longer periods of time. This is a fantastic sun umbrella, and great for travel.
