Great food for stomach and skin issues.

I have and older Chihuahua with itchy skin and a lot of stomach issues. Over the last couple years we have tried several foods to help her that were recommended (and sold) at the veterinarians office. None of them helped and some even made her issues worse. I was apprehensive to try Blue Buffalo because some prior recalls but was also desperate to find something to help my little pup. I took the chance and transitioned her to the small breed chicken and rice life protection formula and she has been doing great! She no longer itches and has no more tummy troubles. Her coat even looks shinier. I have also introduced her to several other Blue Buffalo products (treats, wet food, etc.) and she has handled them very well. Overall she seems much happier and healthier which is what we all want for our furry friends.

At Last!!

Finally, after giving my Toy Poodle nearly every top brand of dry dog food on the market, and throwing hundreds of dollars of food into the garbage because Liliana won't eat it, I decided to give her one more brand to try. I bought a bag of Blue Buffalo, Life Protection Formula for Small Breed Adult (she's 2), Fish and Brown Rice Flavor (because she steals the cat's food which is also Blue Buffalo Fish Flavor). And VOILA!! SUCCESS: she loves it!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Blue Buffalo!!

Great food for your favorite canine!

After using a high quality competitor’s brand for several years I switched to this based on a recommendation from my son who uses it for his dog. We had frequent occurrences (once or twice a week) where our dog would throw up, but I never suspected her diet. She has been on this food for about 6 months now and since switching we have not had one single incident of her throwing up. What a relief! When making the switch, we did it over a period of several weeks, gradually increasing the percent of the new food until the switch was complete. We (me and our dog) are now Blue Buffalo fans for life! UPDATE: The first time I ordered this it was $30.99. About 6 weeks later I went to reorder it and it went up to $36.39! No longer a good deal on Amazon and the price is better at the pet store.UPDATE #2: Good News ... the price is back down where it should be at $30.99 for the 15 lb bag! This restores my faith in Amazon - they apparently act upon feedback. Nice! UPDATE #3: Well now, Amazon's price is back to $36.39 and I just bought today (10-21-18) for 31.99 at Petco.

Best food on the market!

I raised Chihuahuas for years. When a lady recently called me to tell me that her Chihuahua who was 21 years old had just died, I asked her what she was feeding her. Lamb and Rice with no wheat, corn, or soy. I switched immediately! This food has NO junky fillers in it. It is all top quality ingredients. You will feel good knowing that you are doing the very best that you can by your furry little friends when you switch to Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula. My dogs are VERY important to me and I want to know that I'm giving them the very best. You can feed your dog cheap junk and pay the difference in vet bills and short life, or you can give them the best and enjoy them for many years and relish the knowledge that you are doing the very best for them that you can. I choose the latter.

Great food and my dog loves it - prepare to cut the dog's nails more frequently as they grow faster and harder

I love this food... more importantly, my dog loves this food and my nephew (a male Pomeranian) loves this food, too! My Chi-weeny's (½ Dachshund and ½ Chiwahwah) black, short-haired coat is well conditioned and gleans in the light. She has always been a voracious eater – she's a hound after-all – but she comes running as soon as I open the container of food: She smells it and will literally wiggle herself off her feet in anticipation from wagging her tail! The downside..... her nails grow much faster than they used to grow. Okay, so not really a downside for anyone with a dog that is not even part Dachshund. The nutritional value is higher than the previous food and so I have to cut her nails more frequently. It's only an issue for one of the two dogs mentioned but that's because she is such a pain in the butt to cut her nails. The other dog is a cake walk to cut his nails so even though they grow faster too... WELL... this is a high class problem :). The Pomeranian is a finicky eater. He would sometimes go a day or even two without eating for his previous food. When I convinced my friend to switch to the same food, he never misses a meal and even comes running when you ask, “Are you hungry?”. This is true even in the heat of a Florida summer when some dogs will forgo a meal or two. If you have a picky eater, try this food. The food is pleasant smelling compared to others and my dog loves the food all the way to the end of the bag. This is a true test in my opinion. For large and small breeds, some foods don't maintain their taste and integrity to the end of the bag. The Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice Small Breed has delivered in taste, nutrition and by staying fresh to the end of the bag.

Oh my goodness - Blue Buffalo is AMAZING!!

Oh my goodness - Blue Buffalo is AMAZING!!! My baby girl Yorkie has cataracts in her right eye, she is going bald and most importantly she is listless and refuses to roam - If that does not cut your heart, she would have diarrhea everyday like a Picasso painting on my bedroom floor and I felt sick to my stomach to see the bowel movements, I thought surely my Yorkie was dying. You know Yorkies stay like puppies their whole life in that they are active and happy as a puppy. I started crying my Yorkie is going to be 13 in October and I feel like I am losing her right so I cry all the time. Then my husband said to Google Small breed for elderly dogs. I did and I thank the Lord you begin with “B” You were the first and last stop I read “Life Protection” I am NOT EXAGERATING! Within 3 days my Yorkie who is named Yoko stopped having diarrhea and her bowels were getting more solid, then by the week back to normal. She became more active in 10 days and by 14 days she was seen throughout the house and I was so amazed at the transition!! The only brand and flavor she loves and thrives on.

This is the only food I feed my Lhasa Also, and for many good reasons. Chicken is the first and largest percentage of product. No corn or wheat to cause any skin allergies, no fillers or mystery products. And she thrives on this food for the two years I've had her. No scratching at herself, eats the bowl right up. A small amount twice a day. And her waste is always consistently normal, color and moisture but never runny or discolored. It must agree with her metabolism. All my bags came promptly, no holes or rips, never anything other than high quality product. I've tried her on other flavors, but this one is her desire. Veterinarian recommended and tried and true. Blue Buffalo Chicken Small bites. We're satisfied!

My fur-babies love it!

I have three little guys, a Chihuahua, Taco-Terrier, and Chi-Weenie (6, 12, and 17 pounds). It takes them approximately one month to go through this 15 pound bag. I used to buy Royal Canin but it was so expensive ($43 to $45 for a 10 pound bag). I switched them to Bil-Jac but they started throwing up. After a lot of research I decided to try Blue Buffalo. They love it and have had no problems with it. No more vomiting. And if they do happen to have an accident in the house, their poops are firm and don't ruin my carpet. I especially wanted something with a lot of protein and no by-products as this little breed is very finicky. One time when I ran out I bought a store brand which was highly rated but they would not eat it. When I did get my Blue Buffalo and tried to mix them, they picked out the Blue Buffalo and left the other brand behind. I would highly recommend this for your small breed dog.

Great product, price and convenient all in one little click!

This is a great dog food. I feed it to my 3 Shih Tzu's and they seem to like it and thrive on it. I have never given them any other kind of dog food and they are completely health little doggies. I actually think I got this at a great price plus I didn't have to drive 8 miles to walk a mile to get it, then put it in my car and drive another 8 miles home, then carry it all the way up to the house. It came to my front door like magic! Thanks Amazon!
