The Perfect Baby Bath Thermometer!
The perfect buy! It responds immediately to water temps. It glows blue when the range is too cool, green when the range is safe and red when the range is HOT! The temp numbers are easily visible as well as the colors. I don't have to constantly look for the temp numbers because the colors can even be seen through bubble bath. My son likes his water exactly 97 degrees and he gets it. He is the size of my entire hand and floats evenly. He plays with the turtle and enjoys the lights. I take when we travel as well. I will be giving this as a gift soon.

I worry unnecessarily. I figured that this was a small price ...
I ordered this thermometer bath toy for my new baby, because (let's face it) as a first time mom, I worry unnecessarily. I figured that this was a small price to pay for a little peace of mind. First off, this is a great product. Not only does the turtle accurately display the bath temperature, but the temperature display is also back-lit with red, blue, or green to let you know with just a glance whether the temperature is ok for baby. It is a fun little floating toy that does just what it says--makes sure your bath water is the perfect temperature. I have to admit that my first experience with this product was not nearly as happy. After about a week of using this thermometer, the display stopped showing the actual temperature and instead showed 888.88. The color display still allowed me to know whether the temperature was too hot, but I was extremely disappointed by how quickly this handy item failed me. LUCKILY I had read other reviews on Amazon that said Ozeri, the makers of this product, had AMAZING costumer service and that they stand by their products. I quickly sent Ozeri an email explaining my problem which they not only responded to quickly, but they also replaced my "defective" copy for free! I haven't had any problems with the replacement. Because this company stands by their products, and because their products (when not defective) work so well, I whole-heartedly recommend this turtle (and this company). Especially for worry-wort new mom's like me!

Awesome bath thermometer
My kids love this turtle thermometer. We had one die on us after years of use so I just replaced it recently without a second thought. We bathe our kids in a bathtub that has a 1-handle faucet, which makes temperature regulation a little tricky. To make things easier I got this thermometer after reading so many positive reviews on Amazon. It really is great - bright colors, bright and easy-to-read screen, and the screen changes color to indicate cold (blue), warm (green), and hot (red) making it easy to glance in at a filling bathtub to see if it needs adjustment. The unit is water-activated, so the screen turns on when a sensor on the bottom gets wet. If you want the battery to last a LOT longer, make sure you wipe the sensor dry and turn it upside down on the side of the tub when not in use. One more thing, the sensor on the bottom is metal and sticks out a bit from the bottom plate (which is plastic). If your kids get REALLY into this turtle, as mine did, and want to cruise the turtle around the tub, this sensor WILL scratch your tub, so just be mindful of this as well.

Cute, fun, accurate
In the past four years since my son was born I have had a few different bath thermometers. One was very similar to this one and we liked that a lot but eventually the battery went dead. I replaced it with this and so far it is holding up well. I do not have any leakage issues or water inside the turtle. At first I thought it was low balling the temperatures but I used a meat thermometer which gave me the exact same temperature as the turtle so I have since concluded that my previous one was probably reading on the high side. I even use this myself to get a nice temperature on the rare occasion that dad actually has time to soak his aching muscles and bones for a little while. My son enjoys playing with it in the tub and now that I know the target temp I'm after I can get a comfortable bath temp for him each time. It is the best bath thermometer I've used so far after going through four or five of them by now. UPDATE 10 months later the batteries went dead after a being used for every bath time (and staying on in the tub for 30 minutes or so each time). The last one I had mentioned in my review did not have a means to change battery. On this one I opened it up using the many screws on the bottom. I did find some water inside, not a lot, but there was some. Still the batteries themselves were dry and not corroded. There were three AAA that were right on the line between good and bad on my radio shack battery tester. Three new energizers and we should be good for another year. So: still going. UPDATE 2: Stopped coming on reliably when putting it in the tub. The contacts on the bottom were getting just ever so slightly rusty so I cleaned them up with steel wool. Back to working reliably again.

Long lasting, great thermometer!
**UPDATE- my daughter is now 21 months and we use the turtle for every bath. Still working like a champ. But tonight I noticed it was reading colder than what the water felt like. (Side note: always physically check the water before putting your child in the water) I also noticed the digital numbers on the screen had been getting dimmer over the last week or so figured it was fixing to go kaput but nope just needed to change the batteries. It's like new. I assume the reviews with the wrong reading and short lifespan are probably due to old batteries or returns being resold. It's a good buy. I've had the Turtlemeter now for 16 months. It is great. Never had a problem with the batteries or use. It alway works and my daughter like to play with it too. I don't normally write reviews but I feel like a product that still works as good as new 16 months later deserves a good review. Well worth the money. One tip...make sure when bath time is done to dry the 3 dot sensors on the bottom to turn it off.

I love this bath thermometer
I love this bath thermometer! I recently started giving my baby baths and was worried about the temperature bc i knew just the touch with my hand would be a difference degree in comparison to my babys body. I bought another thermometer prior to this one and was very disappointed because it the indicator did not change color at all and looked either always on or always off. Waste of money. This Ozeri Turtlemeter on the other hand is just what i was looking for. Immediately when the meter touched the water, the color on the turtles back turned either red, green, or blue. The distinct colors told me right away what the perfect temperature was going to be. Other meters out there have the indicator on the underside, meaning i would have to flip it over each time i was adjusting the temperature to check.. very annoying. But this one had the indicator right on top so the color would change immediately when it was too cold, perfect, or too hot. Amazing! This is also super cute for my baby to play with in the bath as well. I love how it floats around the bathtub freely as its doing its job. My proudest purchase yet!

Great turtle, doesn't leak, accurate, shows digital temp and colors
After 3 and a half years of pretty much daily use, our first temperature turtle finally wore out. We just bought our second one. I saw some reviews that were concerning and I don't think they are accurate. The following is my opinion and experiences. I will just talk about the most recent one we got in March 2018 because there is a slightly new design since our original. First to address someone talking about black mold growing in it. I was wondering if that individual ever took it apart on occasion and cleaned it. I will attach pictures but the turtle is a two piece design where you can separate the hard plastic temperature readout from the softer plastic body. As far as accuracy goes, I didn't take it to the lab to measure the resistance of the wires I also didn't purchase 5 of these to compare them. I did a thermometer check against the turtle and it seems close enough to me. While it's a degree or two off, consider the turtle has some boyancy and is probably measuring at .5 inches deep. I tried to eyeball this with my test and I'm satisfied with the results. Overall, I've used this outdoors in a kiddy plastic pool and indoors as a tool and toy for bathtime. We are very happy with the product... Again we bought another one after 3.5 years and I'm happy with the product. It's water activated and turns off when dry. (User hack: dry the sensor off when you're done to extend battery life) Photos: temperature shot shows two thermometers and turtle all very close to each other. I showed how the closed cell sensor housing can be pulled out from the turtle. Where there are two turtles one is the old one, one is the new one. The old one was all hard plastic and couldn't be separated from the body.

Great turtle meter, easy to use, awesome gadget!
My mother in law pointed out to me that back in the day they just used their elbow to test the water temperature. I pointed out to her that its 2016 and we do not need to do that anymore, lol. Honestly though we could just use our own senses but this little turtle is awesome for what it does. We just drop it in the bath (no need to turn it on or off, it activates in water) and it not only automatically tells us the exact temperature, but also lights up in different colors to indicate if the water is too cold (blue), too hot (red) or just right (green). Our baby likes the bath temperature a certain way and this allows us to make it perfect. He is too young to play with it as a toy but we are so happy we purchased it! And the fact that it already has the batteries in it make it extra awesome. It's worth it to have in your arsenal. We also have that rubber ducky but all that does is tell you if the water is too hot, this gives a specific temperature reading...priceless!

Works great, cute, baby loves it
This bath thermometer works great! It floats in the tub with our son and he loves to kick it around with his feet (he's in an infant tub now). What I like the most about it is that the temp reading is lit up by colors letting you know at a quick glance if its too cold (blue screen), too hot (red screen), or just right (green screen). I don't really care what the numbers are, I just look for the green light, TEST it with my elbow and wrist, then plunk the baby in! If during the bath the turtle turns blue, I just add more warm water - easy! The turtle floats nicely and my boy likes to kick it - he'll be sitting in the big tub soon so I imagine he'll probably grab it more - I'm not afraid of it going in his mouth. It's big and nothing can break off to become a choking hazard. We dry it quickly after each bath and we've had no problems with the battery. Yes, it does have a slight smell when you first open the package, but it went away after being aired out all afternoon before the nighttime bath. Honestly, it smells like a pool toy since it's made of that thick rubbery plastic. If the smell freaks you out, then I pity your raising a kid! As a teacher I can attest that no matter how well you protect them, they WILL ultimately put funky plastic things in their mouths (just as we did) and I'm betting they'll survive to tell about it :) Again, this turtle doesn't seem to pose any choking hazard so I'm fine with it. It's bigger than I thought - bigger than a regular rubber ducky, and not squishy. Could easily work for a spa too! When we went to Hawaii, I found myself wishing I'd packed this little guy since we had control over the spa temp at the house and wanted to make it baby friendly :) Highest I've seen it read was 107* - I wasn't going for the hottest read, it's just where the temp happened to be.

Turtley Perfect! 🐢
This is what we were looking for! We wanted something that didn't only tell us if the bath water was too hot but also what the temperature was & this little guy does it all. It begins working as soon as you place it into the water by showing the colors blue (too cold), red (too hot) or green (just perfect) along with the exact temperature. It came with factory installed batteries which ours didn't work but that didn't really bother us because factory batteries don't usually last very long anyways. The only thing that we didn't really care for with this was the amount of screws (8) you have to take out just to replace the batteries but it's not like it's that big of a deal either. As far as the other reviews that say theirs got corroded, I can't really see that happening UNLESS you maybe leave the damn thing soaking in water vs taking it out after the bath to let it air dry just like you would/should do with bath toys?
