Perfect
My moms sliding door handle/lock broke and she was contemplating just replacing the entire door since she was getting new windows in her house anyway. Not only would the sliding door not lock - the actual handle on the outside was broken (snapped off). We had looked at the big box home improvement stores but they did not carry the exact replacement unit for this handle. Needless to say, replacing the entire door was going to be pretty expensive. So I took a picture of the handle and studied the mortise lock design. Then began searching online. I didn't have any model number info to go on - so I was just looking for a visual match. I found this unit and the matching mortise lock and took a chance. For around 30 bucks I was willing to gamble a bit. Yesterday I went over to her house and pulled off the old unit. I was extremely pleased that this unit and matching mortise lock was a perfect fit! This is why I love Amazon. Things that are impossible to find elsewhere can often be found here. In the old days I would go down to the local mom and pop hardware store and they would have "everything". Those places have mostly all gone out of business or had to scale down significantly. In many ways, Amazon has become my replacement source for those hard-to-find items. Thanks.

Super Easy. So glad the standards for Sliding doors haven't changed much in 29 years!
That was easy. I really wasn't expecting this handle replacement to be as simple as it was. My sliding door is 29 years old and the old hand was loose and the locking mechanism didn't work well. I was able to swap this handle out in about 5 minutes with only a screw driver. After replacing, I noticed the new back handle requires the mounting holes to be a little bigger than I had. I wasn't ready to drill the holes larger (I will in the future), so I just decided to use the old back-side handle with the new front-side handle. Initially I thought I had an issue because the screws were too long. But this wonderful product included 3 sets of screws and one of the sets was perfect. The locking latch works very well, it is a little tight when I tighten down the screws, but that may be due to me using the old back handle. I will be replacing with the new back handle soon since it looks nice and it counter-sinks into the screw holes. This is probably important to keep the handle from jiggling or coming loose so I will replace soon. But overall this was a simple replacement that looks great and works as I needed. One note: the handle color is not as red as the picture makes it seem. The wood is a light to mid tone color natural wood look

Product worked flawlessly. Old handle broke several years ago and could not find a perfect replacement that also had the lock lever at OSH or Home Depot that fit the hole spacing of hour heavy wood (1.5" thick) sliding door. So back then I bought just an ill-fitting handle and used a broomstick in the sill to keep it "locked." But that handle broke too, so I again searched for a replacement handle. Again, no luck at the local hardware stores. Then a light bulb went off in my head: AMAZON! Sure enough, a one minute search brought up this product. I'm trying to teach my kids to use tools, so I had my 12-year-old daughter install it. She did it in 5 minutes. It fits perfectly and has worked perfectly for the last couple months. Fit and finish are very good, with the exception of the interior wood handle. That handle is stout and well finished as far as color, smooth surface, stain, and clear coat on the outer diameter where you grasp it; but the top and bottom where the wood was cut could have used more finish sanding...when the varnish or stain was applied to the ends it was a bit uneven. In all, a very good deal for under $20.

The house we bought had an old sliding door without a handle. The holes measured were the same as this one so I figured it was worth the shot. This handle fit perfectly and looks beautiful! There was already a lock inside our old door and this handle fit perfectly and now it can lock and unlock without any problem. I would highly recommend this product for your sliding door as long as you make sure to measure first!

Life saver!
Our sliding glass door has been sticking lately and I pulled so hard on the handle trying to close it that I broke it. We needed a new handle fast so I ordered this one and it is worth the money! Easy to install, order and 2-day shipping.

Great handle, easy installation
This handle is of solid construction, easy to install, and such a great price compared to everything else! Home Depot was our first stop after our patio door handle broke, but they were all $40 and up, and there weren't many choices for the size holes we had. (They weren't all too attractive either...) This replacement handle (the exact same brand carried at Home Depot) looks lovely and we didn't need to mess with the inner mechanism to install it. It came with three different length screws to fit whatever width patio door you might have. I installed it with a simple screwdriver while my husband was getting the kids in the car for school. Fast Amazon shipping as always.

Sturdy and good for the price!
This is exactly what we were looking for. My handle to my sliding door broke recently and it was the kind you had to use your fingertips to open it. This one, I have way more control and the handle is fitting to my hand. Definitely sturdy and well worth the price!

Easy to install, all metal, excellent outside handle.
We got 2 of these handles to replace the ones on maybe 30-year-old doors. They went in very easily and costs half the price of what we saw at Home Depot (which didn't come in the proper size). The handles they replaced had very poor outside handles plus they were plastic and couldn't be tightened properly. The outside handles on the are metal, and much much easier to use.

A little wiggling and it worked fine. Easy
It was a little work to get the outside handle to push into the door frame. A little wiggling and it worked fine. Easy, fast install, but i only used the inside and outside handles, i kept my lock switch. Our house was built in 2001, and i assume it was the original sliding glass door hardware.

the easiest to install ever....
I loved this product and put it in very quickly. The longest bolts/screws were a bit short, so I just used the ones from broken door handles and it fit perfectly. I was surprised to find my exact match was the first one listed on Amazon. I highly recommend this do it yourself product.
