Love these!
We get tons of snow in Idaho and the Heat Trax have kept our porch clean. I would like them all the way down the walkway but it is hard to get enough electricity down there with just one outlet. I have them going down the stair and on the porch and I'm sure that they have saved a fall or two already this winter. The dog likes them a lot! She stands on them to dry her feet. It has gotten down to 10 degrees with a foot of snow and the porch is clear! Yay!

Wonderful!
What a boon these are! My husband is getting past being able to shovel snow and I just plain hate it. We have two of these on a 7 ft. wheelchair ramp and are planning on getting a third one to extend out beyond the ramp a bit. They heat the ramp enough that the snow melts off almost all of it. The surface is very non slippery even when wet. Really they're great! Highly recommend.

GREAT product!
While it hasn't snowed here yet, my daughter has owned these for years and swears by them. They came quickly (thank goodness BEFORE the snow hits) and were very easy to install. I have a small dog that needs a clear walkway and it gets harder to shovel by the year! I'm sure these are the best of the best. If they weren't so costly, I'd be running them all the way down my long walkways!

Have worked well for the past 4 winters!
I bought a set of 5 in October of 2013 and have used them now for 4 winters, having just set them up for a 5th. I live in the Cascade mountains and last year we had over 12' of snow. The snow melts off as it falls, mitigating the need to keep up with shoveling snow from my main walkway. They have so far held up well and I'm looking forward to more years of service. I have used them with the 25' extender sold by HeatTrak, due to the location of my power outlet. When visitors see them in the winter they are impressed by their performance and I'm grateful for the relief they give me when it comes to my regular snow removal chores.

The only thing that solved a dangerous problem for us!
We live at the bottom of a hill in New England, and the melting run-off and piles from the snow plows can create a really dangerous icy barrier to the main entrance to our house. These are the only things -- and I've tried basically all of them over 20+ years -- that have ever worked. Plus, less salt in your yard and on pet paws. These are warm, not hot, to the touch (I've seen cats lounging on ours), so very safe. They also don't seem to run up the power bill too badly, but I do try to unplug them when they're not needed. They melt snow at a good rate; in a blizzard they may get covered for a while, but they'll melt it off pretty soon. Plus, it's a wonderful luxury not to have to shovel the back walk. These are solidly made, which is why they're not cheap. I'd suggest comparing it to what you pay for salt or ice melt in the winter. If you're somewhere where that's chump change, these probably aren't worth it for you. But in Connecticut, it totally is. Not to mention that snow shoveling is a major cause of heart attacks and back problems, so what's that worth?

OUTSTANDING product - very well made.
I live in the NW Rockies - in the mountains. Right outside our door the ice continually built up making it treacherous. I purchased this ~ one month ago and was hoping it would in fact eliminate the ice build up and in fact it has surpassed my expectations. We received 2 ft of snow in the past 18 hours and the only spot that was completely snow and ice free was the HeatTrak. This is an outstanding (!!!!) product. Remember you have to purchase a separate power unit and power cord - which amounts to an additional $75.00 but is well worth the extra expenditure.

Lifesaver after freak sleet storm left us buried
This is a great product. We were encased in ice after a freak storm when we ordered it, and my plan was to use it to melt down some of the ice so we could safely get our kids to the car. It worked! Plugged it in in the afternoon, and the next day it had melted the ice down in that area about 4 inches with temperatures in the mid-teens. By the next day it had melted the ice floe down another 4 inches and we were able to salt that and traverse it safely. Then I just kept moving the mat around to melt down different strategic spots until the last few weeks when we just put it in front of our front door through the last few snowstorms. It works very well, is safe and sturdy, and essential for our special needs son and disabled husband. Worth every penny. I hope it works as well next winter!

The Heated Snow and Ice Melting Mat That Lasts
I have purchased two of the 20" X 60" HeatTrak Snow Melting Walkway Mats, and I just purchased a third one. I purchased the first HeatTrak Snow Melting Walkway Mat over five (5) years ago, and that one is still working and doing its job. The HeatTrak mats work exceptionally well in heavy snow and icy conditions - keeping my wife and I safe from slipping on our deck to the Hot Tub.. I had previously purchased two other heated mats from a different manufacture, and those did not last into their third winter -- they are now in the trash landfill, so I am now a devoted HeatTrak customer. Thank you HeatTrak -- your product is worth the price and I love the way you can easily daisy-chain the mats together.

Worth the cost of the setup.
Life saver. I've used these (along with stair-tread and doormat versions) for three years now and love them. It's great being able to get out of my house to the driveway without having to shovel first - handy if you have a dog to walk. I have these connected to a remote controlled outdoor outlet timer (purchased here) so I can turn the mats on and off without having to step outside in a snow/ice storm. The cost of all the components is high. Prices vary greatly from retailer to retailer. Shop around for the best price... which will likely be here on Amazon. Don't wait till Winter to start looking.

I love these things
I love these things, I've had them for quite awhile for my steps and for the walk. Decided I wanted to add another one so I purchased it from Amazon. We recently had a blizzard so we have a lot of ice and these mats prevent me from slipping on the way to my door. I called it the Toboggan run before I got these mats! What a life saver. They don't melt everything if you're getting 24 hours of snow, so you may have to clean it off to help it along. But they're GREAT in a reasonable snow storm of 1-12 inches. Anything above 12, needs a wee bit of help.
