It was reasonably weighed--was worried try ply might be too heavy but it is ok to accept--and price was good. Handle doesn't get hot as long as content not all the way to the top, so as handle from the lid. I got this in place of a mid range brand one i purchasd where handles are hollow and got hot quickly. Good value. I've used it every day and I am really impressed by this pot. I am really so grateful that finally this is a pot that both handles(pot and lid) stay cool while I do stove top cooking. I had 2 other brands--cruesinart classic, not too bad, cheaper but handle of lid too close to lid so gets hot and i can burn myself easily if i don't replace it with other lid; 1 priced higher(made in Brazil Tramonita which is beautiful but handles so disappointing for me, had to send it back) both didn't work so well. This one is excellent. Too bad they just don't have a 2 quart size. Highly recommanded!

Great quality and nicely proportioned. Because this Cooks Standard is fully clad, it manages to have the same size contact diameter at the base as a squatter, impact-bonded pan of the same 3 quart capacity. Being that little bit more narrow and taller gives this pan superior balance and a better feeling in the hand, even though it is actually bit heavier than average. Handle is possibly the most ergonomic on the market and the multi-prong approach certainly works to keep it cool no matter how long it sits on either my glass top range or countertop induction cooker. Pictures here don't do it justice; the surface is not brushed but has a mirror finish throughout the exterior, including the lid. Can't believe how inexpensive it was here on Amazon; have paid more at Walmart for pans that don't hold a candle to Cooks Standard. Glad I managed to get my mitts on this one and both their 11" Covered Sauté Pan and 12" Skillet with Dome Lid before the prices go back up. Incidentally, the lid on this baby is 7" and the corresponding Duxtop Glass Replacement Lid is a ringer.

This pan arrived 5 days earlier than promised, so kudos to Amazon, I get to use it for Thanksgiving dinner which was desirable, but unexpected. The pot itself is very nice, the finish and feel is better than the rest of my set which is food network. That's saying something since the food network set is great and very attractive. My main purpose in writing this review is to present as factually as possible the size of this pan. Many reviews say it is less than 3 quarts The interior diameter below the lip is 7.125 inches. The interior depth is 4.5 inches. The capacity measured by using measuring cups full of water is 12 cups to the point where the flare starts at the rim and 13 cups if filled to the brim. That is 3.0 quarts to the bottom of the lip and 3.25 quarts to the brim. The pan is unusual in that many 3 qt. sauce pans are closer to 8 inches in diameter and shorter than this one. I have a 2 quart. (listed size) sauce pan that came with the food network set and it actually holds 9 cups to the bottom of the flare and 10 cups to the brim. The pans are nearly identical in diameter and the lids can be interchanged with a good tight fit on either pan. The Cooks standard 3 quart. pan is one inch deeper than the 2 quart food network pan. The food network pan has quarter quart. measurements marked inside, but 8 measuring cups (2 quarts) of water only fill it to the 1.75 quart mark. It actually holds 2.5 quarts. to the brim and 2.25 quarts. usable. So the capacity of the Cooks Standard 3.0 quart sauce pan is actually 3.25 quarts with 3,0 quarts usable. The cooks standard capacity is closer (as a percent ) to the actual number than the Food Network pan. Both are a little over the listed capacity. The fall out from this is that universal steamer inserts and similar step sided universal double boiler inserts from 2 to 4qt. are a great fit for both . Most 3 qt. pan compatible double boilers or steamers are 8 or more inches in diameter and will not fit this pan. Many 2 or 2.5 quart double boilers and steamers fit fine. The key is that they fit a 7 inch diameter pan. The fixed sizes for double boiler inserts are usually rounded and are reported to be easier to beat/mix and easier to clean (double boilers) than the step sided units. I have a step sided universal steamer and don't find cleaning it to be an issue. This is a great pan ands fits in with the Food Network set very well (they don't sell a stand alone 3Qt saucepan). I recommend it to anyone who wants a forever pan.

I was pleasantly surprised about the high quality of this Sauce Pan. Besides having very, very durable construction, the heat dispersion all over the pan is excellent for cooking. My only complaints probably center on too high quality (you can't make everyone happy) with this cooking utensil. The handle is a little long for me but most people will probably like that. Because food is cooked so evenly, when I eat out of the Sauce Pan, I have to be careful because the heat is constant around the edges. And the pan is kind of heavy but that attests to it's high quality. *** I will definitely buy from this company again for my cooking utensils. Quality, quality, quality. Thanks.

This is a very well-made pan. Very high quality. However, for someone with chronic tendinitis in my hands I find it very difficult to hold as it is very heavy even before adding food. Likely someone with arthritis would have a difficult time as well.

Love it so far. By all indications this is a good, weighty, solid piece of kitchen gear. I've used it only a handful of times and will update after further use. However, initial reaction is good. We have replaced all cookware in recent weeks, opting not to buy an all-in-one cookware set but rather to buy as we like, sort of piece-meal. It has been fun. When we came to our 3 qt sauce pan, we researched as we had all others, and opted to give this a try. So far, so good. UPDATE: This pan performs as well as my All-Clad, Cuisinart, Sur-La-Table, and Mauviel. Heat distribution is perfect--no hotspots. I can only speak for the 3 quart saucepan. However, I would not be afraid to try any of the rest of this set.

I like this pot very much, its well built and ergonomic. I use it to cook anything from a roux to miso, handle doesn't heat up as much as I thought it would, lid is sturdy too. Product was well packed and no damage, see photos. Not a Career Chef, but had two years of school, this is a type of pot we used and I recommend this to anyone.

I have found no better value in cookware quality than this Multi-Ply Clad Stainless cookware to date anyways! – I ordered the 3 qt and liked it so well, I purchased the 1 ½ qt as well, as I have tons of 3 qt pans and just one smaller one, and considering the Price/Quality/Value of this offering at this time, I simply could not pass that up! To me it is amazing on how evenly these pans cook compared to others I have and in how well the end dish turns out as a result. Also, like many other reviewers have stated, it also amazing on once you do get it to temperature you desire the lower settings your stove needs to keep that even pot distribution temperature as well in comparison. I would also like to see more model configurations offered as well on this line. It cleans up very well also for a non-stick interior, in which I get tired of replacing time and time again due to surface issues, equaling possible health negatives, in the non-stick Teflon interior cookware anyways. Great Value at the present prices on this product line and like numerous others here, I also highly recommend this line. - To get this level quality in other predominant brand name offerings is 3 to 4 times the price at this time.

This saucepan has completely liberated me from constant worry about whether or not my candy will turn out properly. I cannot overstate the importance of having a great quality pan like this one when it comes to crystalizing sugar. Excellent product, highly recommended!

Firstly, I know- it's made in China. I looked at Viking and All-Clad and went with this because I really can't justify hundreds of dollars for a saucepan. Secondly, the handle is rather long, imho. In some circumstances this is a blessing in others a hindrance. Mind you, I'm a 5'3" female so the leverage may work differently for you. Thirdly, the lid fits very securely and liquids come to a boil more quickly than with my other (Revereware) saucepan of the same volume. Fourthly, the handle on the lid stays cooler than I would have expected. Fifthly and lastly, like with all stainless steel, don't get this thing very hot and drop your ingredients (liquid aside) into it cold. It will stick like nobody's business. If you're used to Teflon-coated cookware this is a bit trickier but a lot safer for your health.
