I love this mouse. I have their older corded (USB) version, the one that is nearly impossible to find these days and costs like $300 (that's used), up from it's original price of $40. I've been using these style mice for about 10 years now. I love it. Here are some reasons why you should consider buying it: * Less elbow & wrist movement. The movement of your thumb is all you need! * More travel distance per unit of mouse effort. I have three monitors set into a horizontal display. In order to get across the screen a typical laser mouse movement would be to drag + pick up + move + drag + pick up + move + drag (etc etc). With this I *flick* my thumb and my point glides across the screen. * Reclaim desktop space. I have a spacious desk as-is, but I have a lot of clutter. This allows me to reclaim a large portion of my desk. Things to Consider Before Buying: * Learning curve. If you've been a laser/regular mouse user, it's going to take a few days to get used to it. But you'll get there. * Cleaning it. Just like any mechanical mouse, you have to clean the rollers. To do this, just pop the ball out using your pinkie at the bottom of the mouse (or a pen/pencil), take a q-tip and gently scrape out all the horrid gunk that builds up over time. I clean mine about once every month or two. * Battery commitment. The USB version (which is hard to find these days) is nice cause you don't need batteries. However once you get over the battery commitment this is still a no brain'er. Batteries typically last me about 4+ months before I start to see the mouse performance degrade (choppy movement, unresponsive, flaky) - just replace and go! Connection is a breeze. Highly recommend this mouse to everyone.

I never thought there would be a day where I would resort to an "old man" trackball style mouse. I got this because A. I was so tired of wires and B. I have carpal tunnel to some degree so the repetitive moving of a normal mouse would kill my wrist and forearms and C. Moving my wrist around so much on my desk always made my wrist red and painful. They send you regular batteries with this and according to the software I had about 500 days of use left before I needed to change them, what a breath of fresh air from those wireless devices that you have to change every few weeks or a month! I absolutely love this device and I must say that it has definitely made me reconsider the "old man" theory of using a trackball mouse. They are much more comfortable to use and much more effortless. Make the change today! From all of my research this appears to be the best wireless one available on the market today.

I have been using this mouse for the last 4 months and I am LOVING IT!! I purchased this primarily for use with SolidWorks, Fusion-360 and Unity <- 3D modeling softwares. I am a power-CAD user: probably spend 6-7 hours a day on CAD (sometimes more). I have tried different brands and keep coming back to Logitech. I was hesitant at first to try the track-ball setup. But after a couple hours of getting used to, it was intuitive and straightforward. It especially goes great with the 3D Connexion SpaceMouse PRO. SpaceMouse PRO (magical device)+ Logitech M570 (mouse)+ Logitech K310 (keyboard) is now the default setup on all CAD workstations at Carbon Origins. We do a lot of CAD modeling and this setup works like a charm. If you are looking for a mouse to use with CAD software, you should definitely try this one out. It might not be a good fit for everyone though... A colleague of mine (also a powerCAD user) didn't like it as much. If you don't like it, you can always return it back and switch with a traditional mouse. Sometimes the trackball gets a bit hard to move as dust collects around the tiny ball bearings (caster balls...) under the trackball. But it is an easy fix. All you need to do is pop the trackball out (very easy- there is a hole in the back for this), wipe the trackball and the bearings and pop the trackball back into the mouse and it's as good as new. I probably do this twice a week. Try to keep your fingers clean while using this and you can minimize the frequency at which you need to clean.

Had One Of the corded versions about 10 years ago loved it but I quit and using it for business at the time I just went back to my backup mouse and never did go back to a trackball till now got in today and going over it making sure it worked as its suppose to so far its doing great it is made a little lighter than I would like being something that sits still looked like it could have used I a few grams of weigh in bottom just to help with staying put but the rubber feet does what they are suppose It is great to have a trackball back though the space where my mouse normally goes is limited on space so I would have to pick a reset sometimes not with the trackball just got to get use to it again but no problem I will update if anything changes 3-4-2019 Well here We Are again but this time the battery red light has just came on wow I really thought the reviews was BS till I started using this track ball Purchased this April 15th 2018 and put it to use on April 18th And use it Daily for several hours each day The battery has lasted almost 11 months on one battery wow I will continue to use it till mouse no longer works on this battery to see how long you have after battery light comes on low battery light is a slow flashing red on/off all other functions are working just like they did on day one 4-14-2019 wow one month 10 days after low battery red light started flashing it last that long with low battery light on and odd thing is total run run time on a single battery liked one day being a full year that's a long battery life lets see how a duracell holds up to the GP battery that it came with oh and mouse still working great

This is my second M570. With my first, I encountered some of the glitchy problems with the ball tracking noted in other reviews and I used the solution of transferring the ball from my old wired version. But this most recent trackball seems to have solved that problem. The ball scans and tracks perfectly, even if I forget to clean the contacts and dirt builds up. The convenience of the forward-back buttons is outstanding. I also stumbled onto a solution to even further enhance its ergonomic features and minimize any discomfort from long sessions at the computer. I used a MOBI-GO! Phablet & Phone Prop/Stand to convert it into a vertical trackball! I've seen other home-built conversions but this one is so simple, elegant, and effective that it can't be beat. Combine it with a pad like the Kensington Duo Gel Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest and you're in carpal tunnel-free heaven. I've included photos to show them all together. Check out my review at the MOBI-GO! product page for more detail. I miss my old classic Microsoft trackball but the combination of the M570 and these enhancements allow me to spend many hours at work and play with zero discomfort.

I've been a trackball user since the days before MP3s. This is my current favorite model. Affordable, reliable, cordless, and nicely shaped. I was using it so much that my arm started hurting until I realized I was using it at the wrong angle. I do 3d printing and designed a stand to make it even better and more ergonomic. I would highly recommend this product especially with a padded rest and angled stand like the one I made. You can find my stand at Thingiverse. [...] and make it yourself if you have a 3d printer. With or without the stand, this trackball is a great value.

Just put my 5th M570 into use and ordered two more. They last about 2 years unless you eat fried chicken at the computer - real ball killer. This last M570 is the only one that did not die due to greasy ball syndrome- it is difficult to clean if the grease has been there long, the plastic softens making the ball grabby on the suspension points. At a little over 2 years, the left click key started double clicking. I have bought new balls in the past, but the whole M570 is so inexpensive now that I don't bother when soap and water doesn't fix it. Dealing with carpel tunnel and popping ibuprophen like popcorn until retirement, my modified M570 allowed me to avoid the surgery. Back when the old mouse's had a ball they were finicky and I was ending up with a "death grip" on it to get it to work. Your wrist was always an odd angle and flexing under load when moving the mouse. The M570 fixed the "death grip" issue and the pictured 30 degree mounting wedge fixes the odd wrist angle issue by bringing the wrist back to neutral. This block of wood has been in use for about 15 years and 5 M570's. Attached with foam core double stick tape the opening in the the block allows access to the switch and battery. The 4 feet on the bottom are globs of silicone (bathroom) caulk applied and then the block is set on wax paper, spaced up by sucker sticks and let dry to form the feet. The page up and down buttons on the track ball are real handy surfing. I realized this when I had to use a mouse again, drag the arrow up and point/click the arrows at the page top was a real inconvenience.

I more than love this! It was super weird getting used to it but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I suffer from carpal tunnel horribly. This mouse was recommended by a co-worker who uses it. I can't think her enough. I literally have not had another aching, paining day of carpal tunnel since I started using this mouse. My husband hates it and thinks it's the worst thing. He doesn't use it. Once I got the hang of this, I couldn't believe that I didn't seek out a mouse like this before where I didn't have to keep moving my wrist, turning my hands this way and that way and frankly having to pause as I used it to stretch my hand out. This mouse is truly a winner. I will certainly recommend this and purchase again if God forbid that something happens to this one.. I wasn't paid to say this. I hope this helps someone whose hand aches from moving their mouse all day!

I love this mouse. I am a fan of thumbwheels and they are hard to find. This one is really nice and works well. I love the dongle and it really is plug and play. Battery life is excellent, there is even a slot inside the battery case to house the dongle when not in use so it won't get lost. If you have never used a thumbwheel mouse, they do take some getting used to but I find they really save my wrists and are great for reducing carpal tunnel. UPDATE 02/12/18 - No issues. Still going strong.

This is a trackball ONLY mouse! Don't be like me, I thought it had both the mechanical trackball AND optical technologies all in one. It was a bit of an upset, but I've grown to love this mouse. I use it with my DVR, and it's nice to not have to move the entire mouse to move the cursor around. I also like the fact that I can hold the mouse in the air with one hand and use my other hand to precisely control the trackball. I don't really use the other mouse buttons apart from the regular left and right buttons. The scroll wheel works as expected, and you can tilt the wheel left or right to go back and forward. I believe you can program these buttons if you install the Logitech mouse software. There are two other buttons which I believe are also programmable. It's been a learning experience, but it's one I'm glad to have had. I would not use this mouse with a computer, that would drive me absolutely bonkers! I am not able to control the trackball with such precision as would be needed when interacting continuously with a computer. If you like trackballs, then this mouse is for you, otherwise I recommend that you look for an optical mouse.
