In shopping around for a new electric skillet (after my LAST non-stick skillet's coating went bad after owning it only a few months), I noticed this beautiful stainless steel skillet and immediately knew this was the one I wanted. The reviews were favorable, and cooking with this skillet is an absolute joy! Even my husband loves to occasionally cook something in it -- and he doesn't cook very often. It's so nice and roomy with great big handles, and a great big knob on top. If any food should stick (this only has happened once so far when I was browning stew beef at about 350 degrees in the skillet), all you have to do is put some hot water and dishwashing liquid in the skillet, wait a while, and it'll be easy to clean. I feel this skillet is well worth the price ($93) as I won't be continuously throwing my money away having to purchase yet another non-stick skillet! This skillet is HEAVY DUTY and will most likely last a long time, and I'll never go back to a non-stick skillet again! This has got to be one of the very best purchases I've made from amazon.com!

I LOVE THIS - be sure to oil the pan before cooking and use after preheated like you would for any non stick cookware - nothing sticks to it if you follow the rules - and no toxic cookware!!!!!!!!!! - easy as pie good quality item

This is absolutely the best electric skillet I have ever owned

This is absolutely the best electric skillet I have ever owned. Am in my mid-70's, and have used nearly every brand out there. None have cooked as precisely or evenly as this one. If you are looking for perfectly controlled cooking, here is the answer. And the five-year warranty tells me that someone really has faith in their product!

Great Skillet

We purchased this skillet to replace the same product that finally gave up the fight after 2 years of daily use. We LOVE this skillet. It is nice and big so we can cook for our whole family of five in it. We bring it on vacation to use in the hotel/at the campsite/etc. Great addition to our lives. We love that it is stainless steel.

so far, so good

We've been using this for a few months. We chose stainless for the obvious reasons, no teflon coating to scratch up! It works very well, heats a little unevenly along the edges but not enough to affect cooking. We do bacon and potatoes on the weekends. I wash the lid in the dishwasher. Pan itself cleans up easily with hot soap and water. We fried fish and chips in it the other night and it came out very well. So far, very happy with this stainless steel electric skillet (my first electric skillet btw).

EXCELLENT SKILLET

This is an excellent electric skillet. Extremely durable. Cleans easily with soap and water. Beats any non-stick skillet on the market. No need to worry about non-stick coming loose or getting in your food. No need to worry about using metal utensils as it is all stainless steel. Heats up fast and holds temperature. Got tired of having to buy a new skillet every couple of years when the finish started coming off or the non-stick wasn't so non-stick any more. Didn't write a review until we had used it for a while. In this case 3 years.

2nd one I have bought and may buy one more

Love this electric skillet. I will never waste money again on one with the non stick coating. They have never held up, not only that but very rarely does the handles last on mine. I have broken so many in the past just from using so often that the handles would wear out, become loose and break. The non stick coating in other types also comes off in no time and gets all in your food. With this skillet, it's large for a big family, heavy duty and no worries about black flecks of gross in your food, unless you used too much pepper or are a bad cook LOL..Seriously this is the second one I have bought and I love it.

Love it

I got this for my mom. She loves it. It's much better than the ones with the black coating on the inside. That coating eventually comes of and goes into your food. I would recommend this solid stainless steel one over any with a coating.

great skillet, especially when cooking for a crowd

At first i thought i'd have trouble with things sticking in this skillet, but after a few uses it seems to have developed some degree of seasoning which i thought would only happen with cast iron. I purchased it because i don't like the idea of eating coatings that break down over time. I do recommend cooking foods at lower than the temps would normally be cooked. The base is quite heavy, so i always use 2 hands to carry it. Hopefully the knob will not detach because it is not screwed on, so i just try to be careful with it. If food sticks, wait til pan has cooled, then place a sopping wet dishcloth over surface and let set until food wipes off easily, maybe 20 minutes, more or less. Don't scrape and always use non-scratching cooking utensils with it.I think it will last my lifetime+. I do find myself using my cast iron skillets more now tho' because this is for fairly large amounts of food.

Stainless Steel AND not too expensive!

This product was well-packaged and just what I expected. I have used it to cook with 2 times (bacon to season the pan first) and hamburgers later on. Both came out great! As with most pans, the heat is concentrated near the center, but the food still came out great. Make sure to use a cooking spray or something similar since this is not teflon and is a porous surface and you won't have a sticking problem. Also, start your heat low and gradually work your way up as needed. I was skeptical after reading some reviews before I bought this item, but I am pleased! I did a lot of looking around and this is the perfect size for my family of 5. Previously, I had a teflon Cuisinart electric frying pan, which is about the same size as the Precise Heat pan, but after 10 years the teflon started to wear out. I could put the Cuisinart frying pan in the dishwasher, but it was actually so big that it was not worth it. So, having this stainless steel one that cannot go in the dishwasher is not a big deal to me. It cleans up easily when soaked. The only comment that I can make when I got it is that the handle on the lid is not screw mounted into the top, but welded on. I hope the weld holds and the handle does not break off one day. Still, however, I am so happy to have a stainless Steel electric frying pan and to not have to worry about teflon flakes in my food. There is a more expensive electric pan out there made by CHEF, but this was good for my budget. If you take good care of this pan, it should last quite a while. Also, this pan has the longest warantee compared to others, which is a plus.
