These training treats are our go-to. I buy a couple bags at a time when the price is good. These are some of the more affordable treats when you go through them like we do. I like that the treats are small and a quick bite for the dog so we aren't breaking a lot of focus when training with the dogs chewing and can move to the next task. The resealable top allows the treats to say soft for the next time you use them. The treats are small enough to be used on their own, but sometimes I break them in half since we use so many treats in a training session. I want the dogs to eat their dinner and not a whole bag of treats. While I might break them in half for personal preference, these are some of the smaller treats I buy. Our dogs love these treats and also give them 5 stars.

My potty training method has always been “go potty get treats.” If they go they get one. If they don’t no dice. I have found it very effective but for obvious reasons the treats must be small. These are perfect. They are very tiny but still something my girls want as you can see in the picture. I have bought other brands of training treats that were dry when opened or quickly got dry but these arrived fresh and stay fresh. Also the bag is fairly large so it’s very economical. This is my second time to purchase these and I’m positive I will again.

All of my animals--dogs and cats--go absolutely NUTS for these. Even the "picky eaters" in our house gobble them up in seconds. The liver flavor is definitely their favorite; it has a very strong scent, which is probably why. There's definitely real liver in there! The rest of the ingredients are all good too. I've been buying these years for years and the quality is always great. A smaller bag is the same price or more at Petsmart or PETCO, so it's a great value, too. Getting this on Subscribe & Save makes it even better.

Tricky trainers are far and away our favorite training treat. They are small and soft, and can be broken down into even smaller bits as desired. They can go straight into your pocket without leaving a mess. These have lots of value for dogs, too. We've used them to train a leash reactive dog to first sit while other dogs pass, then to walk confidently past other dogs. We've used them for basic obedience training and for more advanced "trick" work, as well as for scent work. They are a constant staple in our dog supply cabinet and they've never let us down! More to love: -They are corn and wheat free, with a common sense ingredient list you can pronounce. -They aren't high in calories. They contain some maple syrup but aren't as crazy sweet as many treats. -They appear to be made in the USA. (Label says "Manufactured for Cloud Star, St. Louis, MO" - so not 100% clear.) -They donate a portion of their proceeds to animal charities. -The cheddar flavor is perfect if you'd rather not carry meat products around in your pocket. -They come in a resealable zipper bag and stay soft and fresh as long as it is sealed between uses. At our house, "cookie" has come to mean "Tricky Trainer", and our dogs will do just about anything for these "cookies"!

When I was looking for a training treat for my puppy, I wanted something lo cal since this would be in addition to her regular food (which I also use as a training treat) and meat (which is her big reward training treat). The salmon ones are her favorite! We always carry these around in a baggy (only downside is they do dry out if not in a sealed container) and use them when needed, if you have ever trained a puppy you know you go through a lot of 'treats' so being lo cal is important. My pup loves them so they get a five star review from her.

I use these treats to train my CKCS (cavalier). I searched out something that wouldn't be full of fillers and artificial ingredients/colors. The great part is he is absolutely crazy for them, have tried the liver flavor and think it was turkey or chicken before it. Given his energy level he can be a bit of a handful in the training department when he first arrives on scene. Really the first half of the classes were getting him to a calm, listening state. These have helped that. They're good enough (in his mind) to get his attention and pull him into the 'we're going to stop bouncing around and do things now' mind set, even with other dogs and people around (hence the absolute excitement). LOL. He loves this stuff, and is now in the amusing habit of turning down the milk bones several places have given out to him during our travels... He'll eat those eventually (talking days here), but these are what I go to when trying to teach a behavior; I swear he'd sit on his head if I asked him to for these treats! Very handy, and I'm happy he's not getting a bunch of artificial stuff in them.

My pup loves these treats. He’s extremely mischievous but will do anything I ask him to do when I bring these out. They are the perfect size for training. He’s 12.5 pounds now but when he was about 5 pounds I thought they were a little too big to give him a whole piece every single time he did a trick so I broke them in quarters. Now I either break them in half or just give him a whole piece. They’re soft so it’s easy just to break them with my fingers. The treats are 3 calories each, just under 1/2 an inch tall, and about 1/4 inch in diameter. I usually use the liver flavor but decided to switch it up and get cheese. My pup likes both flavors equally, but the cheese flavor gave him the most horrible fishy breath. As soon as I switched back to the liver the bad breath was gone. If you’re comparing these to Zuke’s Mini Naturals, I estimate that both are the same size, but Zuke’s are shorter and wider. Zuke’s treats are also 3 calories. My pup seems to like them equally. Zuke’s are firmer and more crumbly when I break them in half which makes it a little messier, but they are still soft enough to easily break with my fingers.

My dogs love the liver flavored treats. They like them more than Zuke's Minis, which are usually my go-to training treat. I think I'll stick with Tricky Trainers from now on. They're higher quality and a better price than the Zuke's. I like to cut them in half to make them go a little farther. The treats are sort of fat, so halving doesn't make them too small to catch in the air or dish out for a reward. I used scissors, but they're soft enough that you can make a few into halves by hand. Honestly, I think these treats smell good, too! Unlike Zuke's, which have a very distinct "dog food" smell, the liver flavored Tricky Trainers smell like beef jerky. I don't feel like I have to hold the bag away from my nose when I give them to my dogs. So far, the liver is the only flavor I've opened, so I can't vouch for the smelliness of the other flavors. I personally can't think of any cons for these treats, and highly recommend them!

Do you love your puppy (I don't care how old your furbaby is, they're puppies forever)? Do you care about what goes in his/her tummy? Do you want your puppy's full attention like never before? If you answered yes to any one of those three questions (hell, even if you said yes to just one of them), then BUY THESE TREATS. First off, from when you rip off the top and open that bag for the first time, be prepared for that meaty, cheesy smell to explode in your face. Seriously, sit down before you open this bag or it might just knock you right on your ass. I had to fight my husband off so that he wouldn't just dig in and eat the entire bag (he did try one, though, like he does with all of the treats that we buy for our babies, just to see first-hand what we're feeding them). Secondly, the puppies will smell these things from 2 miles down the road, underwater, with muzzles on. Be prepared for their sudden madness. And lastly (but most importantly, for me, as their mommy), these aren't chock full of nasty additives or harmful chemicals like many other treats are. We try to get the best for our babies, including fresh raw meat from time to time as well as fruits and vegetables and such, so we try to be good about treats, too. As a BONUS: these things are smooth and dry on the outside, but moist and chewy on the inside. Great for the pups, awesome for non-sticky hands and fingers after training sessions. These aren't the cheap, by the bulk treats that some people may prefer to buy to be frugal, but in our book, they're worth every cent. If my review has helped you in any way, please let me know, or hit "Yes" under this review. Thank you! :)

My pug graduated at the top of her manners class with these treats! They've become a staple for training for both of my dogs. They are very soft, and easy to break apart into tiny pieces. When I go to pug meet-ups, I'm the human with the best treats. My only issue is that my tiny beasts go through about a bag a week. They are behaving for the first time...EVER. FYI: They will go hard if you leave the treats out in a treat bag, or in your pocket. Leftover treats from your morning walk, will be tiny hard pebbles by the evening walk. So you will want to put back unused treats back in the bag for freshness. I've only received one pack (out of the 15+ we've gone through) that was slightly stale and hard to break apart. Had also ordered the cheese version of the chewy treats, but they were VERY hard. They may have just been stale, but I never ordered them again. If there was a way I could purchase this in bulk, I would.
