Works really well
Pleasantly surprised at how well it works , given some of the reviews, low price and flimsy appearance. It stays in place, catches all the hair, because I check the drain every time I clean the strainer and the drain is clean. I guess it depends on where/how the water falls from the shower head in your tub. A heavy flow directly on the drain may cause the strainer to float up and for hairs to get in the drain. Not sure yet how long it will last. Will buy another soon just in case .

This is a must for long hair.
I just love this product. We have 3 females in our family and we all have long hair. Our bathtub drain was always getting clogged and I would have to get out the long screwdriver (or unbent wire hanger) and try to unclog the hair out of the drain - what a pain. This hair catcher does exactly what it says it does. You will be surprised how much hair this item will catch. It rests in your drain and it is very easy to remove you just pick it up by the ring. The hair will just pull right off of it. It is easy to clean if it gets a shampoo/soap build-up on it. Then you just pop it back in. Overall, great product!

I chose this after trying the tubshroom and definitely like this one better
I bought a blue tubshroom and ended up throwing it away because it was difficult to take out the hair/conditioner/other gunk that got stuck onto it. I found it hard to clean because of the cylindrical shape and also hard to see the build up with the dark blue color of the rubber. I think having a white hair catcher is more practical since it is very obvious when it's dirty. Since it's easier to clean, I take out the hairs using toilet paper and run water over it to get rid of any other debris after 1-2 showers and so far it looks brand new.

Only downside is if you a nice stainless steel drain cover(the thing that goes up and ...
If you live with anyone with long hair, this item is a must! I especially appreciate the little handle in the center to lift it from. When hair gets caught in there, it tends to also catch soap and conditioner as well so its gets slimy and no lne wants to touch that. This prevents the eventual clog from hair in the drain very well. Since I've purchased, we've never had to unclog the drain. Only downside is if you a nice stainless steel drain cover(the thing that goes up and down allowing the tub to fill for a bath) you will have to remove it to allow for this item to fit. You may be able to cut the center part out which is what sits recessed in the drain.

Works great and looks pretty cute
I have a big pop up drain so I cut hold in the middle and put it around the pop up thing. Works great and looks pretty cute. Cheap and does it job! Tips: Remove the hair when it dries after shower is easier.

No Mold and Catches All Of Your Hair!!
I bought this to keep the drain free of my aging wife's hair (mine also). This hair catcher works as stated, just drop it in the drain and it does all of the work. You will have to empty the hair after each shower if you lose a lot each time. I've had this for a month now and there is no mold to be found thanks to the Microban that is in the plastic itself. I used to be in the water damage and restoration business and used Microban all the time. It is powerful stuff and it keeps the mold away. Having Microban was a deciding factor in purchasing this product. It's bad enough that I have to pick up this thing full of hair but if it had slick mold all over it, it would make it that much worse. Overall it is a great product that does what it says and it does it well. I rely on reviews also so this is the most truthful review I could give. awesome
I have a lot of hair despite most of it going down the shower drain every time I cleanse my hair. I bought this to keep our pipes clear since hubby pulled a clump of my hair out of the drain ( I know its yucky, but its the truth). I did some research and found this bad boy on amazon. The good: it does its job. it traps hair and keeps our pipes clean It is relatively easy to clean its easy to remove and install The bad: I used the term "relatively" to describe cleaning this bad boy. The surface of the danco is a bit tacky so hair clings to it which makes me gag when I clean. HOWEVER, this is the most awesomest hair catcher ever, so I push through my own self disgust. ****I advise using an old (designated) toothbrush to clean this thing. I just swirl the head of the toothbrush in the drain to scoop the hair out, than I brush away any hairs stuck to the side. overall: i'm buying one for all of the showers in my house and the 2 at my mom's house as well. Trust me, it will make your life a lot easier. and its safer and cheaper than draino.

Time Saver, For Real! The Nitty Gritty Details....
I'm from Afghanistan so needless to say, I've got a lot of hair. Thick and lots of it, length almost to my elbows .... My stylist says it's, "industrial strength", lol. This thing is a must for anyone in my category of hair! No need to try to salvage the loose handfuls of shedded hair while washing it (let's be honest here, ladies with lots of it know what I mean)... No need to call the apartment maintenance man or woman in, almost weekly. Or DIY, for the brave (definitely a nasty job when coming back up, blech!), to stop the slow or clogged drain that nastily causes water over the toes... Okay, TMI, just sayin... This works and it saves time in the shower and out! Some of the reviews I initially read here made me wonder (Whoa?!)... After your shower, you just pick it up and (You can use a tissue or paper towel if you prefer... I'm washable, so I'm not too germ-a-phobe to touch my own, just washed, hair.), it's a flexible rubbery material, with a loop in the center you can grab it by... You can flip it inside out and then grab the hair in one sweep. Trash. Done. I've used the ones at the pharmacy type stores that sell for around $1.99 and they don't really work. Any amount of hair doesn't allow water thru and you've gotta pick it up and grab the hair off every few minutes and by that time it's barely effective. This works because the little rubber spikes grab the hair before hitting the center where water goes thru. I clear mine after or before every shower but could probably go longer. It just seems gross to me to leave it longer than one shower. If I do forget it, my husband removes the thing altogether because, of course, he doesn't wanna look at a hair ball, lol. Thankfully, you can actually grab it by the loop with your toe, haha.. You do have to remove the drain part itself when using this but for me, it's worth it. If I want to take a bath, that part stays near by under our bathroom sink. Effective, four dollar, time-saver. I wash it every time I clean the tub and it stays white. No mold or mildew issues. We've been using the one we have for around ten months and it looks the same as when I bought it. Tempted to buy a couple more in case they ever get discontinued... It's a flawless design, in my opinion. I've shown it to family members who've immediately requested I order them one also. Smile. If you're purposely looking for an item such as this one, you've searched long enough. Do it! : ) Hope this helps!

The last trap I'll ever buy...
We went through numerous other hair catchers before finally settling on this one Pros: -GREAT at catching hairs. The grabby "teeth" hold on to hair around the drain and within the dropped part -Sits flush on the floor of the shower/tub -The wide build holds it in place well -There's a little pull thing to pick it up easily Cons: -It can be a bear to get the hairs off, often I bite the bullet and use my hands (it's my hair after all) or use a q-tip -It traps more than just hair, including lint pieces or rug yarn pieces. Not a bad thing, but it literally catches everything -It's white, only, which may clash with your tub if you car about that stuff. It does stay white, even after 6+ months of use Cleaning tip: when completely dry, use the hose part of the vacuum to suck it right off!

Excellently designed product
I've owned this for about a year and a half now. I've tried a few different hair catchers in the past and this one I can absolutely say does the trick for any open drain. The edges seem to mildly suction to the floor of the tub when wet so that the hair ends up in the teeth of the hair catcher rather than clumping up underneath it. Some strays attempt to go underneath it, but none of them have successfully gone down the drain. In addition, it's really easy to switch to a different sized drain because of it's design. The middle part is small enough that it'll fit in almost any drain opening, but the outer edges are wide and sturdy enough to never let it fall in no matter how big the opening is or how much hair weighs it down. The basin in the middle holds a lot of hair and keeps the entire catcher securely on the drain opening. One thing you might find handy is the little handle you can pull up so you don't have to touch the grubby hair as you're cleaning it out. I found that it would sometimes get hair tangled up in that little handle, so I removed it completely and the hair has peeled right out without tangling ever since. Yay! The water drains through this great for me. Maybe it's because I've been using this product ever since I moved into this new apartment so there was no hair gumming up the pipes already.
