After reading comments on the difficulty programming this keypad, I printed out the suggested comments someone retrieved from Youtube. I tried using the printed instructions that came with the keypad first. It didn't work. Next, I tried the ones someone else suggested. They didn't work either. So. I tried the printed instructions again and it worked!. I suggest the old adage - if at first you don't succeed, try again. Now this is just a wild guess, but I live near an air station, so there could have been some frequency interference during my programming attempts. Years ago, garage doors in our subdivision were opening and closing from the frequencies used at the base. That problem has long been resolved, however ... After I programmed the keypad, my remote wouldn't work. I found a very quick and easy fix on Youtube. All you have to do is press and hold the transmit button on the remote while pressing and releasing the learn button on the opener. Again, I did that twice, and voila - instant programming. The remote works like a charm. I definitely recommend this product. BTW, if you're unsure of the model year of your opener, look on the opener itself, it should have a manufacturing date.

Programming was simple - followed others advice, and programmed straight from the instructions on the keypad. Immediately found out that you could open the garage door, simply by pressing Enter on the unit, regardless if a PIN was entered. A call to tech support quickly solved the problem: pressing 9 and 1 together for 10 seconds will toggle the "1-button open" feature, which, by default, is supposed to be in the off position from the factory. Works as it should, but you should make sure you can't open the door by simply pressing ENTER.

Bought this keypad opener along with a Chamberlain 3/4HP chain drive MyQ garage door opener and the Chamberlain MyQ box that connects it to the internet. It is all great. I did have some difficulty getting the keypad to program. I tried using the door opener instructions that use the door button to learn the keypad, but I couldn't get that to work, so followed the keypad instructions using the head unit learn button and that worked fine. All is well. If you have a MyQ enabled garage door and would benefit from having internet and/or smartphone access to monitor/operate your garage door, I highly recommend you getting the Chamberlain MyQ internet box to give you that internet access to monitor/operate your garage door. There are iPhone and android apps for this.

The first Chamberlain I bought turned out to only work with one door and I have two, so I took it back to Lowes but the other model they carried looked like this one and had the same model number but without the 2 at the end, so I got this one from Amazon (and cheaper too). Since I had already installed and set one up, doing this one was quick and easy. I had trouble with the installation of the first one due to my inability to read and follow simple directions, resulting in my erasing my remotes by pressing and holding the button on the opener too long. It's really not that hard, but "it's difficult to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious."

I'm no DIY-er and neither is my husband. He was happy for me to HIRE someone to replace our old key pad. I started looking into it and found this item which sounded easy enough for me to do (though nothing is ever as easy as it seems). This was a no-brainer even for me. I pulled the old one off, had to add one hole as the bottom hole of the old one wasn't aligned (which I did with a nail as I didn't want to pull out the drill). Followed the advice of others and used instructions inside the cover and managed to get DH to help out by standing on a ladder and pushing the button while I programmed the opener. Worked perfectly the first time - tested to make sure it didn't just open with the Enter button as instructed by another reviewer - it did not. Nice to now have a key pad that closes just with Enter though - my old one did not. Homelink in the car still worked fine afterward as well. No muss - no fuss - highly recommend!

Very easy to set up. Please note you will need to follow the steps on the inside cover rather than the manual. As others have said, the step where the instructions tell you to press "Enter" after programming your code is incorrect, however the instruction written on the inside cover to press * is correct. Easy to install, you will need a drill though, comes with screws needed. Also comes with required 9V battery. Works flawlessly with our Liftmaster door opener. There is also the option to allow the door to close just by pressing enter so you don't have to enter the code to close. Will not allow you to open without entering code. Great addition to my house that allows me to get in my garage and not need a key. Easy to give the code to any family that needs to come in if we are not home. Would be nice if this had the option to come in white instead of cream to match where it is installed, but otherwise can't complain. Highly recommend this upgrade for your garage.

Like many people, I don't have a space to park my car inside the garage because I have tons of other stuff stored, such as kid's bicycles, scooters, basketball, yard tools, etc and etc. Therefore, my kids and I have to access garage whenever we want to take out the bikes, basketball, or yard tools. When I'm doing yard work and if I'm dirty, I would ask the kids to press the remote inside the house to open/close the garage door. After my kids have taken out the bikes, they would yell at us to close the garage door because they didn't want to come in just to close the garage door. We now have no more yelling from outside to ask someone inside the house to open or close the garage door because of this wonderful wireless keypad! I don't know how we lived without it until now... It was very simple to install and set it up (oh, and looks like they corrected the instruction manual that everybody is complaining about) and it uses 9v battery so I know it will be a while before I have to worry about replacing the battery. Highly recommend this product to anyone who's been yelling outside the house to open/close the garage door like I have.

I just finished installing this as a replacement for my craftsman model 139.53985D garage door opener key pad. The original one had begun to be harder and harder to key and perform its function. I did make sure to move the remote clickers out of the range of the opener to avoid de-programming them while I attempted to pair this new unit. At first I tried following the included instructions page and the attempt was a failure. I then noticed one small difference on the instructions printed and stuck on the inside of the cover/ lid, where it says to press the # button after programming your pin vs. pressing the enter button, as stated on the instructions page. Everything works fine now and I’m very happy with the purchase. This unit is the same size color and shape of the original one and the mounting screws can be reused as the hole locations are exactly the same.

Appears to be good quality. The printed instructions have an error, though. They say to hit "enter" after inputting your initial 4-digit code, but you're supposed to hit the "#" button. The instructions on the lid of the keypad have this correct, but the paper instructions have it wrong. Hold "*" and "#" until keypad stops blinking. Enter 4-digit code then press "#" (not "enter"). Press "enter" the number of times in the chart for your learning button color. Press "0." Press the learning button on your garage opener. Input your 4-digit code and press "enter." Your opener will click or the lights will blink, confirming it worked. Now input your code and press "enter" to open your garage door.

Super easy, works great! Pros: +Took me literally 7 minutes from start to finish to program and hang (Don't even think about looking at the paper instructions--look at the sticker inside the lift cover) +Compatible with my Raynor opener (red/orange "learn" button) +Compatible with yellow button, purple button, red/orange button and white button openers +Buttons are easy +Hitting the "Enter" button while the lights are still flashing allows you to send the code again without re-entering PIN. Handy for walk in, grab something from garage, walk back out (See cons below) Cons: -Mine has some fading that looks like it's used and/or been in the sun. If I cared, that would matter -It's way more brown than white. The picture in the listing looks white/cream. -Arrives with the 9V battery installed. Who knows how long that's been draining at a slow trickle. -Hitting the "Enter" button while the lights are still flashing allows you to send the code again without re-entering PIN. Handy? Sure. But lasts a pretty long time--someone could wait for you to go in the house and push the button again to follow you in. THERE IS A WORKAROUND! If you enter the code, door goes up, lights on keypad still flashing, just push the # key and it will stop.
