Advantix2 combined with Sentinel has worked great.
We live in a country setting and there are tons of ticks. My dog was a stray and when she found me she was covered nose to tail in parasites and had a gut full of worms. From the start her prescription for Sentinel has worked great, in the first two years we used frontline as a topical without great affect on ticks. Since 2014 we have used Adnantix 2 along with Sentinel with great success, most ticks do not survive, and she never has fleas. I am grateful she has never had a bad reaction to Advantix 2 because it works so well. In the summer we apply it every 4 rather than 5 weeks and less often in Winter months. Occasionally she has gotten those damn pin size ticks, nothing stops those tiny monsters anyways. Long term side affects would be good to know, we are gratefully blood disease free so far.

Finally found the BEST flea protection!!!
First time in a long time that I have loved a topical flea protection for my animals. With several years of using some of the other name brand flea protections along with generic capstar, I was still finding fleas on my animals. I decided this time I would try K9 Advantix (dogs) and Advantage (cats) for my animals. I am so relieved and too excited that our animals have yet to have any fleas on them AFTER using this for two months. They are due for their third treatment this week and they are still flea free! I normally had to start giving my animals the generic capstar after three weeks of the other topical treatments but not this time! Also, my dogs (Pomeranians) and cats did not have any skin reaction to the K9 Advantix and Advantage products.

GREAT PRODUCT
HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS, WE LIVE IN THE WOODS, LITERALLY, AND HAVE EIGHT DOGS (ALL STRAYS KICKED OUT IN THE NATIONAL FOREST SURROUNDING US), AND HAVE NEVER HAD A FLEA OR TICK ISSUE. I ALSO LIKE THE FACT IT KILLS MOSQUITOES. I DO HOWEVER WONDER SOMETIMES, THINGS BEING SO GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO, KILL, WHAT KIND OF LONG TERM EFFECTS IT HAS ON MY GUYS. I'M NOT SINGLING THIS PRODUCT OUT SPECIFICALLY, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE WHOLE LOT OF PRODUCTS LIKE THIS. YA KNOW, THE "OTHER" THINGS THAT ARE QUITE CONVENIENTLY NOT MENTIONED.... ANYHOW IT SURELY DOES WHAT IT'S MEANT TO DO, AND DOES IT WELL.

Great Product
We use this on our 2 pugs and our pom and it does a fantastic job. This is a bad year for ticks as in one day I had 6 on me and my wife found 4 on her. Maybe we should put some on ourselves.

Great product for repelling the fleas before they bite!
This is my first time with this brand of flea medication. I was looking for something that repels the fleas BEFORE they bite the dog as we have a 15 year old dog that has "flea saliva" allergies and with age it was getting worse and he started biting/chewing so bad that he was chewing his hair off. So, I did some research and found this and decided to give it a try. We watched him closely after the first dose to make sure he did not have any type of reaction to it and he did well. It works very well and keeps the fleas at bay! Will definitely keep using it. If you have cats in the house...please see below! BEWARE CAT OWNERS....Please make sure you note the warning on this box that one of the ingredients (permethrin) is dangerous/fatal for cats. Do not use on cats. I have one cat in the house and they warn to separate them for 24 hours after you put it on your dog. I read many things, including some vet pages and definitely keep them separated if your cat grooms your dog (licks, loves on, whatever). Our cat likes to rub his head on the dog at times during the day. They said if they don't lick them, that you can just keep them separated until the medication is dry, so that is what we did, about 3-4 hours, and then just kept an eye on the cat to make sure he didn't rub on the dog for the rest of the 24 hour period. Better safe than sorry! This worked well on our dog that can't use the "fleas have to bite to die" flea meds as he as allergies. It was definitely worth keeping them apart for a bit to safeguard the cat and have a great med that helps the dog.

Advantix is an effective alternative to Frontline for resistant fleas
For almost 20 years, I've been a regular and faithful user of Frontline for my dogs. However, on a couple of recent occasions they have had a flea issue. The first time, it was later in the month so I decided to give them their Frontline treatment a week or so early. The store was out, so I got Advantix and applied it instead. It worked like a charm. In subsequent reading, I saw individuals who were proposing that Frontline is not always effective with fleas, because they may develop a resistance over time. On the most recent event when I discovered the fleas, I applied Frontline a week or so before the normal treatment time. It had absolutely no effect. I then tried flea baths and natural product sprays, which worked in only a limited and temporary way. So I went ahead and bought and applied Advantix. Literally overnight, in less than 24 hours, I no longer found a single flea on any of my many dogs. I did find many dead fleas on their bedding. I, of course, did all the things to clean the bedding, carpets, chairs, etc. to mitigate any future problems. Long-story-short, Advantix works on those occasions when Frontline doesn't.

Highly Effective and Affordable!
We've used Bayer Advantix II on our dog for 2 years now and we've never had a flea issue. There actually is a little dog in our neighborhood who frequently wanders into our yard and, bless his heart, he was just riddled with fleas. My dog would play with him on a weekly basis, and we never had any transferring of fleas to our dog. We ultimately ended up treating the other dog with flea drops as well because he was just so miserable. When I say he was infested, I mean you could literally see them crawling on him and jumping, and the little guy was just biting and scratching constantly. They were even on his little face. It was awful. I treated him with this Bayer Advantix II when he was hanging around our house one night and when he wandered into our yard the very next day, about 13 hours later to be exact, the fleas were all dead! I would say maybe a week or two after that, we noticed he had stopped scratching completely. So his bites must've all healed, and regular flea checks showed he was completely pest free! Cheaper brands (Hartz, for example) are a complete waste of money. They're not effective. And the prescription brands (such as Comfortis and Trifexis) are great, totally effective, and have the added benefit of heart worm prevention, but if your budget doesn't allow for that, I would urge you to consider Advantix II. It's gentle, my dog has never had any ill side effects, and it's super effective. There's no smell, it dries/soaks into your dog's coat within a few hours, and it lasts an entire month. I mark down (using provided stickers) the dates we treat our dog with Advantix, and there have been plenty of times where I was a week or two late (whoopsie!), but we've still never had any issues of my dog picking up fleas. Anyway, I highly recommend. It's a great product.

I am so glad I used it
I have been using this on my Westie since he was 2 months old. I am so glad I used it. On the first month of having him, he picked up a flea (or maybe two) during our walk but I found one crawling very slowly on his belly. I was able to get it right away and smash that sucker! Because the flea was not its usual jumpy self, this gave me a reason to believe that the Advantix had worked and it made the fleas sluggish and easier to get to. I was super happy. And he doesn't have any reaction to the solution so I'm glad about that. I can't say that this will work for every dog. Who knows....the chemistry of dogs vary I guess. But it worked for my little one. Oh and during spring/summer time or whenever it gets warm, we do have mosquitoes. So far no bites. (Keeping my fingers and everything crossed). So nothing worrisome to report. I live near the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley. Hope this helps.

The thing I like the most is how easy it is to spply
The thing I like the most is how easy it is to spply. Right now the thing I like the least is, it didn't work. Not just on my dog, but I buy for my daughters dogs as well. It dodnt make 1 bit of difference in the flea control and the scratching the poor things are going through. After a week or so I gave my dog a second dose. She is still miserable and scratching the fleas. I'm hoping this was just a bad batch because its too expensive to buy when it doesn't work. Now i can't give my dog anymore until the time is up. I don't want to make, her sick.

Best flea treatment EVER!
After spending an obscene amount of money on Frontline all summer for my two puppy children, I found out it's ineffective in my area. Apparently, the fleas here have evolved using superior technology & radioactive dosing to become immune to the 'most recommended by vets' topical flea treatment. I was at my wit's end & my puppy children were suffering. Something had to be done. Fuled by rage & caffeine, I hurled myself down the rabbit hole of flea areas & treatments, determined to annihilate the tiny blood sucking invaders once & for all. Advantix II was the only topical suggested. I was willing to try anything. The price point was great too, considering I had no idea if it would work. It was cheaper than the alternative of burning the house down & starting over, I'll tell you that. I did. I am victorious. 10/10 would recommend
