The Sims 3 Generations is AMAZING! I love all of the new features it gives you! You can now have body hair on men only which i never use because i think its just kinda ugly but it does look more realistic. You now have strollers and that is a big improvement because now your baby gets to do more in its life then sit in its crib until it becomes a toddler and toddlers now get to see more of the outside world. I use the stroller a lot when my baby or toddler gets lonely and the moms not too busy. You can now have the babysitter career which i have not tried out yet but i think that sounds like fun. It is another one of those all day jobs though, in the job parents drop off their kids at your house and the happier you keep them throughout the day the more you payed. One of the good things about this job is that other Sims who are living in the same house as the babysitter can help take care of the kids. Some of the other cool new features are the new playground toys. The sandbox is something only childs can play in but after they build a san castle anyone can go destroy it, im not sure if the teens can play in the sandbox i have not tried that out yet. You also have the water slide/slip and slide, the whole family can do that as long as they are at least child age but on my games it has one major flaw. The first Sim i told to go on it was the father Sim and then the Wife, so heres what happened: they were sliding for a little while and then i told them to get off, which they did, then later the father gets a wish to play on the water silde but it wont let me click it. I go into buy mode to delete the slide so I can just buy a new one but... it says oh sorry you cant delete that, it is in use by the father Sim. That is the only flaw i have come across but thats not a very major thing anyways. You also now have the see saw which can be used by anyone at least child age. You have the hop scotch court which can be used by anyone at least child age. You now have the treehouse for kids and teens. The treehouse is a rabbit hole but if your sim pokes their head out the window you can see them so yeah. Parents can now woohoo and try for a baby in showers and the treehouse. You also have MEMORIES they rock! Your Sim will get a memory any time they do anything like: go to school, learn a skill, throw a party, vomit, get a raise, fall down, become skinny, ect. I think memories really change up the game because when your Sim accomplishes something it takes a picture and puts it in their scrapbook of life. You now have a vidcam which is your Sims video camera, its pretty cool you can take videos whenever you want and you can move around s your taking the video, after you take the video you can save it and watch it on your tv as long as the tv isnt wall mounted. There are also 2 new traits Rebellious and Nurturing. I think the Rebellious trait is fun my child sets pranks like crazy, whoopee cussions hair dye water sprayers and its pretty funny! Also children can do a lot more in this game, if you click a chair they can go for a ride and thats them sitting in the chair with a helmet on pretending to drive a race car, they can click on a bathtub and go on a submarine adventure. They can also put on costumes now and play in them which it kinda cool. Kids can now join after school activities mine joined scouting and its real, she learned fishing and got a patch which she can show to anyone, when she show it to someone she puts on her scout outfit and its pretty cool! Kids also go on field trips which are pretty fun. Teenagers get dances and go to prom. uhh yeah I cant give away EVERYTHING. You dont get a new town but I saw this is one of the few expansion packs that is totally WORTH FULL PRICE!!!!

My daughter thinks she has to have every single expansion pack for the Sims 3 game so we have pretty much bought them all. I assume they must be entertaining since she used to play all these for HOURS & HOURS until she got into Minecraft.... The only complaint I recollect her having is when you get up to putting a dozen or more or these different expansion packs on, it consumes ALOT of room on your computer & eventually slows down the entire game & you start having problems. Otherwise she loved it!

I neglected getting this game for a while after it came out because I thought it would be lame but I was wrong. I love it! If you're family oriented and like little perks I think you'll enjoy this game. You can teach the teenagers how to drive and the babies get dolls that turn into imaginary friends. Which to be honest looks a little creepy but it's interesting to see your Sim child playing with it or asking it to do its' chores. There is also Prom and Graduation...it's all just really cute. I get a real kick out of it. I can't speak about bugs though because thankfully so far I haven't experienced any.

This does what the title says "Generations" which works great for my legacy families I have in the Sims expansions, everything your real life family experiences, so will your simulated people if you have a legacy family. (from birth to generation after generation) This expansion is pretty good seeing grandma wipe her grand kids noses in winter, it just family and I feel you get a good amount of items in this expansion also, just go on Youtube and watch the many videos players have uploaded for your pleasure and be amazed by these "The Sims Games" It will be better than listening to me. smile Thanks

With this expansion pack, you definitely need to spend some time playing it to find everything it contains. I've been playing it some each day since it was released and am still finding more content it has added to the game. It is integrated everywhere throughout the game play. There's lots of new "stuff", like clothing, hairstyles, furniture, home objects, toys, etc. This is what is apparent at first. There are tons of new actions and things to do. Children are given an imaginary friend at birth who stays with them until adulthood where then they can be turned into a real person. They have new toys like slip-n-slides, tress houses and sand-boxes that contain hidden treasures. They get to enjoy slumber parties and there are now bunk beds for them to sleep in. All ages of kids now also get to go on school field trips where they often earn skill points. Teens are given a BOATLOAD of new things to do, from having parties while the parents are away, to picking fights and learning to drive a car. They can play pranks, and get in trouble by being grounded. When your teen wakes up in a bad mood, watch out! There's almost no telling what they will do, and are impossible to control. They may skip school, egg houses or any number of other rebellious actions. Adults get to do all kinds of new things, like becoming a babysitter (daycare job), attend bachelor parties or go out stargazing. Going out on dates is now an option, they have all kinds of new places where they can "woo-hoo" and they develop a "reputation" when they go out into town now. If all the Sims in town know your married, and they spot you kissing a different Sim, the gossip will start. When Sims have a toddler they can no take them out for a stroll in a baby stroller and elder Sims now have canes to help them get along. One of the best new features is the ability to customize how fast or slow all of your Sims age. You can set a different amount of days for each stage of a Sims life. So if you want to skip over the baby stage, but lengthen to toddler one you can. Want to remain a young adult Sim forever? No problem. Everything is customizable, at any time. You can also change your mind and alter it at anytime. In your Sims lifetime rewards section there are also new options, like cloning a Sim, receiving an Inheritance, buying a hover-bed, a young-again potion and more. These are just a few of all the awesome new things in the game. There is a lot spread out everywhere, so it will definitely take some time to find everything new this pack has to offer.

I don't know why other reviewers have compared this EP to a stuff pack because while it doesn't come with a new town, it comes with a whole new array of things for your Sims to do, wear, and interact with. Far more than any of the stuff packs have provided, I would say, so it is definitely expansion pack-worthy. As for the bugs, I'm not saying that the Sims games are perfect (I've experienced a few bugs myself), but nothing outrageous like some people have complained about, and that's regarding all of the other expansion packs, too. Sometimes people don't realize that the CC on their computers really irks with the updates. And honestly, for all of those who believe that the EPs aren't worth forty-plus dollars, here's this option: wait until it goes down. They always do, even a couple of weeks after release. I purchased this from Amazon about two weeks after it dropped and it was $29.99. Sure it wasn't anywhere close to free, but ten dollars still can make a huge difference especially if you believe that you're not getting enough for what you pay. So for all of you that keep saying EA is gypping you for your money, either buy the software at a lower price or, hmmmm....don't buy it at all. For you to come and give a bad review on this EP after saying that you hated every last one, I just have to ask myself WHY you keep buying them in the first place and that leads me to NOT listen to you. So for any Sim lovers out there who really do enjoy the game, I suggest that you buy it and play it for yourself. If you're iffy about it, wait for it to go down a bit. However, I love the game, and I believe I'm giving it the review that it deserves.

Some people keep complaining about the lack of content in this expansion pack, calling it a "glorified stuff pack". There is actually quite a lot more there than one might think. Therefore, since someone asked me to post this, here is a pretty nice list of what you can expect to find in this pack: This list was not compiled by me, but by a Sims fan-site [...] ' There is not a new town for Generations. The town shown in photos and videos is Sunset Valley. ' There are 10 new community lots added to Generations. ' They have not added any new Rabbit Holes. (Still unknown if they have opened any existing ones) ' One of the new community lots added is a Playground complete with a Sandbox, Swing set, Seesaw, Playhouse Set, Spring-Rides, and a Treehouse(?) Sims & CAS ' Body hair is a feature that has been added to CAS ' New accessory for Elders: Canes Build Mode Features ' Spiral Staircases ' New type of Window New Objects ' Usable Strollers to transport your toddlers. ' "Ninja Vanish-Potion" is used to disappear from the scene of a prank. Chemistry skill required to make the potion. ' Children & Teens can be grounded for mischief, have a timeout or have their video games banned. ' Pranks can contribute to your teen's social standing and will actually let you build up a reputation as a master prankster and local legend to the other kids at school. ' Children can sleep outside in their backyard and tell ghost stories. (Flashlight included!) ' Stories will effects how your sim sleeps at night. ' Sims can now have Nightmares. ' Children can have sleepovers and slumber parties! ' Children can dress up and be a "King or Queen" and reign over their subjects. ' Sims keep memories, so you can go back and review your Sims' milestones when you feel like reminiscing. Memories of significant life moments will be recorded in their Scrapbook. ' Adult Mid-Life Crises ' Pillow Fights have returned! ' Older Sims can interact with toddlers now by performing "claw" movements while in their arms. (most likely an add-on to tickling) ' Children can now have pirate attacks in their Tree-houses. A skull and crossbones flag is hoisted above the tree house, it hisses and pops on the inside and fire and smoke emerge from the windows. ' Children can now have Sci-Fi adventures in their Tree-houses. They dress as astronauts and UFO's appear. ' Children can now have "clubhouse" type adventure in Tree-houses where they spy on neighbors through a telescope to see what others are up to! ' If your sims decide to throw a wild party. a police car may show up! But don't be fooled as they are not real cops! They are there to add to the parties atmosphere. ' Grown-ups can now have elaborate bachelor and bachelorette parties before marriage, which include all manner of festivities like pink limousines, sexy dancers and plenty of "nectar". ' Bachelor parties, will include hiring a female "dancer" to pop out of a wedding cake and spray the lucky bachelor with a bottle of "nectar". ' Parents have the ability to send children and teens to different boarding schools. They can choose anything from military school to the sports academy, and has plenty to choose from to give their children a proper education! This happens outside our current world. ' Children won't go to college specifically, but what they will do are the following: Children can go on field trips now. Field trips are really cool. It is not just a new way of going with the community as they sometimes bring special things back from these field trips and have them in their memories. ' Teens will be able to have a Graduation and a party for it. (no details given on how a graduation will work) ' Teens can have prom dances. They will be able to take their date and go to the prom and they'll take their picture at the school. You can hang these pictures at home on their walls so they can remember this day and how it was like for them. Of course if they got prom king or prom queen - that's a very special moment for them. ' New parties include: Teenage parties, graduation parties and bachelor/ette parties! They have also added new fun interactions to weddings such as the "Wedding Arch" and "Cake Cutting" ' Sims can now have Dates. ' Adult sims can Woohoo in the shower and in Tree-houses. In tree-houses, you'll see the adults climbing up in there and the tree house is shaking. Leaves falling down off of it and birds will fly of the tree house . ' Not only can your Sims record home videos of their children growing up, but they can take the Data Discs out of the camera and replay their home movies on most of the in-game TV screens! ' Sims can view the world from the video's perspective while they record events around them. ' Sims are now able to record home movies, or even tape unsuspecting victims to use the footage as evidence (blackmail) ' Sims now have the ability to gift flowers and boxed gifts. ' Sims will now be able to stargaze from the ground. ' Hopscotch ' Children can attend ballet class New Traits/Skills ' Nurturing ' Rebellious ' These traits are not specific to any one life phase in the game, but they'll provide different benefits to Sims throughout their lifespan! ' As of now we do not know of any new "exact" skills such as cooking that can be improved, but making potions with the chemistry set is something to improve on. Careers/Professions ' Day Care profession ' Parents can take their children to Day Care at a specific time, which is an at-home daycare. How many children will your Sim be able to handle? An additional challenge is that children with rebellious ways might anger you with their antics. Having the "Nurturing" trait is a plus for this job. ' Sims have this new "Nurturing" trait. Sims with this new trait will be great in taking care of other kids; they can interact with them in a special way. It's a very active career. You have to guide your Sims through these experiences to help them advance. So other Sims bring by their kids and drop them off and you have to take care of them. As you progress through it, it gets more difficult - you may even have a problem child. They're going to pull pranks and get in trouble more often. But you make sure that you take care of them like they are your own kid. And as you keep going you will have more and more children and have the ability to manage them. ' Ambitions careers have been expanded. Lifestate/Creature ' Imaginary Friends ' This fantasy creature with a fancy pants suit, different pairs of shoes and a glowing "light bulb" on the head, moves strangely. An imaginary friend stems from a doll which a child tends to nurture. Once the doll has turned into an imaginary friend, many new interactions become available. ' Only the sim with an imaginary friend can see them. Other sims will not be able to see someone else's imaginary friend. This will be odd seeing a pillow fight or a child on a seesaw with no one else in view! ' You will only be able to see the imaginary creature when the sim who created it is selected. ' Using a special potion, sims can turn their imaginary friends into a "Real" sim. ' Imaginary friends can perform actions that sims can. For example if you have to tidy up the house just ask your imaginary friend to do it! ' Sims can have romantic interests with imaginary friends when they become teens. This romance can continue into adulthood. ' Interacting with an imaginary friend, fills the social bar and gap for your sims. Extras ' Collections (explained below) ' We now have this new filter in buy/build mode, where you click on it and select the icon of what product you want to see. So if you bought "Generations" and you just want to see the objects from "Generations" you click that icon and that's the only ones you will see. But it's a dynamic system. If you have "Late Night" as well you can click both of them you will see only objects from both of those. So you can show just the objects that you want. ' We will now be able to Upload Screenshots and Memories to our My-Page & Facebook.

I think Sims 3 Generations is just a blast! I love how it focuses more on the family aspect of the game. I personally like all of the EPs, but this one might just be my favorite. It really depends on what type of gameplay appeals most to you, but I prefer the family aspects of the Sims 3. This is a very creative one and although there are no new towns, it does include more content to the game, new hairstyles and clothes, and more items you can buy for your Sims home. Great seller and good buy. :)

I have been in love with the Sims since the very first game and the Sims have come a very long way and this expansion highlights this greatly! With generations you get a lot of content that you wouldn't think that you would want in a game but you end up enjoying. I would have never thought to have Sims going to bachelor parties with strippers but it is pretty entertaining! One of the greatest things that I have found is that you can adjust how long the Sim is in each stage of their lives. If you want them to be a baby for a day but a child for 20 days you can do that simply by adjusting the game settings. There is so much more things you can do with your Sims as children and teens too which has never been seen before. They can go to prom, learn to drive and even play with their very own imaginary friend. This is definitely a must have to any collection and worth the money.

Another great expansion. I always feel the number one thing a customer should know when they play a game is that they don;t feel jipped. I got this on sale so I'm happy, but the fact that it is stock loaded with new, RELEVANT content, makes me even happier. I used to play with teens and kids alot and stopped because they were so restiricted. But this adds behaviors for EVERYONE (even the elders that I never play because my sims have epic life) This is a great expansion and even though the Teen rating on EA games make for sucky bachelorette parties (WHYYYYYYY) and the getting frisky interaction for newlyweds is just as playful as making a joke, I still think this is an overall win.
